Tagore was a polymath just like Leonardo Da Vinci. His thoughts and creation still resonate in the hearts of Bengalis across the globe. He didn't compose the national anthem of Bangladesh. Because when he wrote "ও আমার সোনার বাংলা আমি তোমায় ভালোবাসি" Bangladesh as a country was not formed. When Bangladesh was formed in 1972 after Pakistani army surrendered to Indian army on December 16th, 1971 . As a new born country, Bangladesh needed a national anthem. Hence the song was adopted as national anthem of Bangladesh.

Rabindranath Tagore doesn't get the recognition he deserves in India and this video though well researched wasn't enough to sum up his greatness. Gitanjali is so close to my heart - as a literature student I've had the opportunity to read and do research on some of the best literary pieces around the world and I'm telling you Rabindranath Tagore was a pure genius in his field. I hope a day comes when his literature and music get celebrated in India the way they're supposed to.
