KANTARA !! The makers of that film have nailed it on so many levels. You have culture, spirituality, intrigue, tribal life, exploitation, justice, all of that carefully and tastefully combined into a fantastic story that just leaves you spellbound. I don't even understand Kannada and I still watched it more than 20 times in Kannada with subtitles. The state that movie left my mind in was profoundly different from any other cinematic experience i've ever had.

I am actually a christian keralite who had my primary schooling in a brahmin school in chennai, have celebrated so many hindu festivals due to my neighbors welcoming nature and learned bharatnatyam for a decade now. About me,I am Muslim, when i was young i was watching ramayan on pogo/hungama channel or some cartoon channel i guess. But my dad never stopped me from watching it, which i find it suprising cause we are very religious. I understand that film making is a business at the end of the day and in Bollywood taking risks does not equal to being rewarded most of the times which is what leads to formula films but what can be the solution then? Most of the producers seem to be interested in cash grabs only, it completely kills creativity and any chance for innovation.

We shouldn't encourage This hero worship too much that's why these big stars take away payments like 100crs, 150 crs etc and just because they are big stars producers have to spend big on the films budget even though the story doesn't demand... On the other hand making creative movies has less risk.... Since one can make excellent cinematic movies with budgets as little as 10-15cr giving chace to new age directors and actors Kantara was made in 15cr it Grosses 400cr+ on the other hand if someone is willing to spend 700cr as investment on such a level negligently made film and then expecting to make 1000cr+ was a day dream and stupidest idea in first place even KGF2 is larger than life movie but they didn't over spend Just 100crs and they grossed 1200cr+ payment to actors shouldn't exceed 25-30crs or 30% of total budget then there is less risk

I belong to this youth and I can proudly say that "This is not we wanted". If we ignore Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana and watch it as a Standalone movie, then too it is not good for obvious reasons. My parents used to tell me Ramayana not as an epic, but as an Legendary masterpiece which can never be replicated! I hope Bollywood learns from this and will nevet try again to hurt Indians' sentiments! ❤😊🙂

@@jayjoshi3849 even I feel he was being too harsh on Sandeep reddy vaanga, he just pointed out the negatives of the movie without mentioning even a single positive point of the movie, even if the storyline might seem very misogynistic the screenplay was kind of amateurish, Bobby deol was underused, but the cinematography was brilliant, his direction and performance of the actors were also good, he is a director who can use his cast to their full potential, just don't see his next movie, force him to change his views a little bit and give him some lessons on writing his stories properly, he could kind of do what RGV did in 1990s and 2000s. Dhruv's review of animal felt like a negative review that was paid by the competitors of the movie.

If we look back in past, Guru Dutt was a director who never went for profit. His movies pyaasa, kaagaz ke phool, sahib bibi aur ghulam, mr ans mrs 55 were first of their kind in the bollywood. Pyaasa is truly one of the finest films I have ever watched.

Not only inflation should be considered but also ticket prices should also be considered for single, multiplexes and IMAX. In the 80 and 90s most of the movie halls were based on single hall format and the prices were much cheaper.

That's why respect for Ramanand Sagar is more increased in heart .He made the Ramayan not for only earning money but want to create history and won a place in the people's heart .
