Hi Dr Aggarwal. I was initiated for the 4 sets of Guru mantras. The first one now I am doing is "Om Gurave Namah" for 40 days 3 mala each morning. And I will continue with the others 40 days 3 malas each day after that. My question is while doing these mantras can I still chant this Guru Mantra? The Guru mantras are given me for remedy purposes.

What is the difference in affect between this and chanting "Shri Gurudeva Datta"? I thought that Dattatreya was the Guru of all Gurus? It all becomes a bit confusing. All ultimately have the same effect yes? The best is to do one's best at having no thoughts, and purify correct?

It is most and probably only effective in its original language. It is the sound of the syllables which act on you since everything is created by sound. The language in that sense does no matter.
