Dr. Amey Deshpande, PhD. , Sri Sathya Sai Centre for Human Values
He hails from Maharashtra and was a student of the Sri Sathya Sai Primary School, Prasanthi Nilayam from 1990 to 1993. He acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Bangalore University in 2000. He then pursued Chartered Accountancy in Bangalore from 2000 to 2003. During this period he worked with Hewlett Packard in their Financial Services Centre at Bangalore.
He was a member of the Bangalore Sevadal and Brindavan Bhajan group from 1999-2003. He enrolled for the MBA (Finance) programme at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning in 2003. Thereafter, at Bhagawan’s behest he registered for the MPhil programme in 2006 and was awarded the Gold medal in 2007, for distinction in MPhil. He completed his doctoral studies in 2016 in the area of corporate strategy from the Department of Management and Commerce, Prashanthi Nilayam.
He has been a part of the Prasanthi bhajan group from the time he joined the SSSIHL for his MBA degree. He has sung in the Divine presence in the music programs that were put up by the students. His interests also lie in playing the tabla, dholak and other percussion instruments. He has also sung and played the percussion in the Bhavanjali and Nada Brahmam series of Sai Bhajans. He was blessed to speak in the divine presence on many occasions. He has acted in the dramas offered in his Divine presence in Prasanthi Nilayam by the students. For several years he was involved in directing the dramas put up by the students.
Currently, he serves as a Resident Fellow in the newly formed Sri Sathya Sai Centre for Human Values. This centre has been started under the auspices of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and has been mandated to conduct research and training in the field of Human Values.
