Property prices in Sutton sounds reasonable especially when compared to Bristol. The pattern I see are people are moving from London to Bristol and the first time buyers of Bristol are being priced out so they move to South Wales. If you’re welsh, then you get free medical prescription and subsidised higher education. I remember my university mates from wales paid around £3000 annual fees to study at UWE whilst the rest paid £9000!! However I don’t know how long you have to live in Wales to benefit.

Sutton is too famous, in year application in primary school, the council may not be able to offer you a local space, and you have to wait and accept a space in Croydon, I can see some parents waited more than one year. So do double check with the school first. For secondary schools, the catchment area is quite wide, it’s very competitive. e.g., no catchment requirement for Wilson School. Good luck

To get to Grammar Schools, all pupils must take entry exam. No exception, and also you need to apply to Sutton Council in December in order to have place for your kids. Otherwise you may need to queue and wait for your turn. Check ZOOPLA OR RIGHT MOVE for idea where to live in Sutton. Sutton area code is SM1

Yes Sutton is a nice, safe, reasonable price. Good schools for kids, better transport such as direct train to Victoria, London Bridge station or 20 to 30 min by bus to Modern tube station. It is important for Hong Kong People who look for a job and also for the kids in the long future when they grow up. Other UK areas not easy to find a job.

Sutton may be good in many aspects, but in terms of business, it is not as good as one expects. At one end of the high street, there are many empty shops and derelict buildings. Also, there are few pawn shops. We go there a lot, usually on Sunday, parking charge is £1 all day. There is a well know Malaysian/ Singapore restaurant they sell authentic Malaysian food.
