Non e’ una cattiva esibizione, ma il tenore qui e’ fuori ruolo; fondamentalmente è una voce di lirico-leggero per la quale, ovviamente, acuti lunghi e tenuti non sono un problema. Manrico e’ tenore lirico-spinto, in quest’aria deve esplodere una vocalità maschia, spessa, robusta; l’acuto finale non serve cosi lungo, serve più poderoso, una lama d’acciaio sguainata che lampeggia, questo si deve sentire nel “all’armi” finale. Qui si sente una sorta di Nemorino incazzato che smania e pesta i piedi per andare alla guerra. 😀 Il vero Manrico e’ tutt’altra voce. Si prenda Corelli, Filippeschi, più recentemente Bonisolli. Tenori eroici dalle grandi voci eroiche.

Veramente quell'acuto finale Verdi non lo aveva nemmeno scritto, dire come dovrebbe essere pare più che altro frutto di fantasia

Questo e’ vero; ciò non toglie che Manrico non e’ Nemorino, e gli accenti del personaggio devono essere eroici , non patetici. Si ascolti come Lauri Volpi cantava Trovatore, pur facendo od omettendo il famoso DO e poi ne riparliamo.

@@matteodemicheli5890 Stai esprimendo delle ovvietà, nessuno nega che il ruolo abbia un carattere eroico, ma ricondurre questa caratteristica al do di petto e alla spada sguainata durante la cabaletta è un luogo comune ancorato a una certa tradizione piuttosto vetusta.

@@matteodemicheli5890 Ascoltati bene Lauri Volpi, così ti renderai conto che il tenore di questo video è inadatto al ruolo non solo per il colore ed il volume della voce, ma anche per i suoni aperti e sgraziati piuttosto lontani dalla vecchia scuola rappresentata degnamente dal tenore che lei ha menzionato. Gli mancano lo squillo, la facilità di emissione e la nobiltà del fraseggio di Lauri Volpi, non solo il timbro ed il peso specifico.

Not sure the microphone in front of him was on. Not kidding, it sounds like we are listening to him from a distance and not directly in front of him, and of course the ending he was completely drowned out by the music. I was hoping for much more clarity. I can tell he is skilled but this recording itself left a lot of his performance in the hall and not in the digits. Too bad for us.

Pity that towards the end just before the "Allarmi" he got drowned by the orchestra (the director seemed possessed, lol) but then boy ho boy what a great ending! Long and sustained squillo. I was impresssed.

Orchestra was alright, the voice is completely off for this stretta, I don't know the guy but he sounds like a lyrical tenor. Not a bad performance per se, he did as well as you can expect from lyrical tenor, but really bad rendition of this particular piece

What ridiculous camera work - the tenor hits the high C and the camera dances between the the orchestra and the conductor flailing his arms around 🤷‍♂️- I had to listened to it again with my eyes closed. As for the tenor we are perhaps spoiled by the greatest voices being freely available to us at the touch of a button - in my youth I would have been overjoyed to have heard such a singer live - those who visited the opera venues in my town heard that voice in their head but it never reached my ears.

bravissimo tenore, peccato che il suo timbro non sia adatto al trovatore è troppo leggero nella voce, Nel trovatore bisogna avere un timbro più robusto e cupo non così tanto flebile

Infatti, questo tenore ha una bellissima voce ma la struttura del suo canto non è di un tenore spinto e nemmeno lirico, ma leggero, perciò gli acuti non sono corposi come dovrebbero per questo ruolo ma sono un po troppo fiacchi, con la parte dei bassi non adeguatamente potente.
