I am on year 65 with type 1. It has been an amazing ride. When I started in 1958, there were no alcohol pads, no disposable syringes, my glass syringe and steel screw on needles had to be boiled prior to use, etc. After all these years, my only complication so far is starting to listen to country music.

This was a great video however I just started on the op5. Is there a video with the makers of the op5 and integration with other cgms and timelines like this video.
@lozetchells91649 ай бұрын
Considering how much they charge, the integration timescales are ludicrous, especially for the relatively simple case of adding G7 support to existing G6 support. Definitely need more competition

Really really really really really disappointed that you can’t swim with it. Swimming management drives me nuts with my son. We went on holiday to Malaysia and it was hard and as well as that there were monkeys that steal bags . So much anxiety ! I was waiting for this one as our solution!!!
@anitastokar989 ай бұрын
According to a tandem website, the mobi is water resistant for up to 8 feet for 2 hours. I am not sure what exactly that means as it sounds like you can be in water down to 8 feet for two hours but it also says not to swim with it on. A little confusing.
@robynhovey16499 ай бұрын
It has the same exact water resistance rating as Omnipod. "Waterproof" doesn't exist. It's just a marketing term. Tandem just wants you to wear it responsibly.

In a world where tubeless insulin pumps are reality, no company should be focusing any resources on tubed pumps.

So happy I found you!! I've been a T1 for 47 yrs, diagnosed when I was four. I've been pumping for 24 years. Im on my 2nd Tslim, I'll be receiving my G7 next week. Im especially happy about muting alarms, working 2nd shift, I don't want my pump waking me to tell me volume or battery is low...I look forward to more of your videos 😊

Problem with the tubeless pumps is that you cannot pick and choose the type of cannula, 9at least you couldn't on the classic Omnipod) My sons skin had a huge reaction to OmniPod plastic cannulas with the old school classic Omni…hus skin is much happier than the true steel needles from t slim!

Thank you, Justin, for this video. You are awesome. I have been with Tandem since 2014, and I stayed because I know they are growing like crazy. I am super excited to hear about Sigi because my current pump expires the same year they are saying. This made my day. Tandem rocks, and Inow everyone knows this as well.

For this pump will you need to Bolus for meals? How does it compare with Omnipod 5 and ilets pump ?
@dawnb22249 ай бұрын
The algorithms are different from all pumps and systems out there. At this time that is not available for Tandem. There are several videos out there that compare the different between the 2 algorithms.

We don’t have dexcom g7, libre 3, omnipod 5 and a lot of software like the tandem t:connect app and omnipod app as well as the new libre 2 update that lets it act as a standalone CGM are not yet available. It this point, the fact that we are so behind in AU is getting kinda frustrating

New to pumps. Can you use digital without a cgm? My son has tried libre and g6. He says they cause pain. I’m a little worried that any pump is going to g to cause him pain as well. Has anyone else had this problem?
@robynhovey16499 ай бұрын
I really enjoy your videos, but get mad at the guests sometimes. I feel like she missed some points that Tandem has already published. Like, it has the same exact water resistance rating as Omnipod. That's on the website. Tested safe for 2 hours at a depth of 8 feet, compared to T:slim being rated for 30 minutes at 3 feet. "Waterproof" doesn't exist, it's a marketing term. All things give way to water eventually. Tandem just wants you to wear responsibly, but she makes it seem like it's more vulnerable than it is. Also, Tandem's head of marketing confirmed that the bolus feature works identically to the quick bolus feature on the T:slim, where you preset the value of a button press in your settings. You can choose between a set volume or a number of grams of carbs and it will calculate the needed bolus for you from your current i:carb setting. For instance, mine is set for 0.5 units. If I wanted to bolus 2 units, I would long-press the button to activate the bolus function and wait for a beep. Then I would press the button 4 times (4 x 0.5 = 2 units). The pump then repeats 4 beeps back to me, and I do one more long-press to confirm. If you have the option to follow-up or have another interview scheduled, could you pretty please ask about safety features and potential capillary leaking? Before there was any automation, one of Tandem's biggest selling features was it's "micro-delivery technology" (you can KZbin that to see how it works), that keeps you entirely separated from the reservoir of insulin with no risk of over-delivery. It was lauded for it's unparalleled safety. My understanding is that they've gone back to a traditional syringe-style reservoir/cartridge with the Mobi, like on Medtronic pumps. I would love to know if they've implemented any unique safety features to the design to overcome this inherent weakness.

Tandem still hasn't figured out how to complete Dexcom 7 interface with iPhones. Disappointed on that one. The infusion sets can be problematic at times. Improvement is needed.
@craigclark58459 ай бұрын
Tandem need to update their x2. The algorithm is outdated. Medtronic and Ypso have a much better algorithm. I’m in Australia and a bolus from phone function would be great. Pain in the neck pulling out the pump to bolus
