Always AR complaints. Get a blessed aim merc . You get one in act 2 and it fixes your AR all game. The extra damage from might or safety of freeze is nice but not needed as much if you are not a squishy. It makes literally every single physical build vastly easier to run. And if and when you get your awesome visionary circlet or whatever swap him out. An extra couple hundred damage from might is not going to make or break your build. The one place where it doesn't necessarily work great is physical spear zon, but again you have Valk, decoy and the fixes to DAE to compensate. No melee build is outclearing a hdin or lit sorc with end game gear. Zerker focuses pack leaders, but for all the time until you hit 85 and can farm your best gear, blessed aim is your friend. None of this applies if you just get rushed because then you aren't doing much, but if you actually play the game and enjoy a physical damage dealer as opposed to another flavor or caster just run blessed aim until you gear fix. /end rant

I would add that the act 3 merc will give you enchant. This gives a larger attack rating bonus I think. Downside being that you lose the damage from the act merc. Act 3 does fuck all damage. But if you give the act 3 merc a good shield they die alot less than the act 2 merc. I can never keep the act 2 merc alive on anything but a sorc.

It'd be cool to see a HC tier list too. With death being permanent, it makes survival a core aspect to any build and team. I think Petting Zoo Druid with both bear form, and oak sage are really going to shine in it. I'm definitely not using this as a chance to make this name stick..

hardcore doesn’t change what builds are best for pvm, you just itemise different. if you don’t want to die, go for things like stormshield and guardian angel, 50 dr 90@ and you’re pretty much unkillable on any character

Foh paladin is still the best there. Just such an easy build to make with a lot of flexibility and surprisingly good cheap gear options. Thunder gods, Trang’s, shako and a few fcr rings plus a good shield and you are set. I’d recommend going hammerdin first and then do a switch when you reach hell Chaos sanctuary. I am playing only hc

@@yanniblumstein1 hence my reply. It’s a specialty build for end game. But does it much better than any other class with gear that is super easy to get. Hand of divine blessed light, skin of the viper magi and a peasant crown is really the only thing you would need. Consider this with whirlwind barbarian who won’t make it even into hell really without a grief. And safest I would personally say is the new singer barb that’s equally cheap to gear. Druid and necro close second. I feel battle orders is a must late game.

Phoenix could have been S tier for group play. The third charge freeze is a hard freeze on everything it hits except named mobs and elite spawns and it lasts anywhere from 5-15 seconds in hell. It makes the group SO much safer.

I started a ladder character. I am disappointed the drops haven’t been good. I am lvl 16. I might just play my lvl 90 non ladder Necro and be happy with that.

Lvl 16 i was killing andariel naked with a basic long bow. Worthwhile things (almost) never drop until you reach hell and get some mf. Expecting to have anything lvl 16 except maybe a stealth in hard leather armor is just setting yourself up to be disappointed.

I got back into Diablo 2 somewhere around 2011-2014, and was playing an Orb Sorc. I was absolutely crushing everything, wiping everything… up until the very last act V mob that Baal summons in nightmare. All cold immune. I never found a way past it and was so upset I didn’t play again til I got D2R for my birthday last week. Currently playing a Holy Fire Paladin and it’s a blast. Thanks for the great content!! 👍

Enchant has got to be one of most fun to create a character around since it doesn't really call for a ton of points. I'd bet that runeword obedience might even be able to prevent having to spend any points in it at all and still let her melee really well. Kind of want to try out the hwanin set items too, never did that

One thing I didn't do though was try out all the weapons with sorceress skill procs and there are a ton of those. Pretty curious about how well those runewords kingslayer, lawbringer and voice of reason can end up being too

We need a mercenary tier list. Same style as this video lol. Every mercenary “build” should be rated. Viability, damage, survivability, overall cost, and frequency of use.

Dbrunski tested out all the mercs after the changes and did a video on them. It was kind of ridiculous the extremes he went to, got so many rainbow facets to boost the elemental damage of A3 mercs. Despite the improvements to the other ones, the A2 mercs are still king for their damage, survivability and auras.

I agree that MA kicksin (tiger strike? phoenix strike?) is poor, but kick/trapsin is absolutely OP and is essentially a trapsin on steroids. This is because kicks takes very few skill points and you can still easily max lightning/death sentry just like a trapsin and at the same time you melt any bosses (including ubers) with dragon talon. And if you pair this with reaper's toll merc you can farm pretty much anywhere, because it will break most physical immunes.

I feel like for a Blade Fury Assassin people REALLY sleep on Blade Sentinel and it's a BIG mistake, given how many of the places you'll be in have clear sight lines and more constrained quarters. I took her to Hell with basically jack shit equipment and she performed well considering, but you'rre right, you kind of need more attack rating. Enchant, for instance, would be extremely nice to have. So if you're in a GROUP, an Enchantress or someone's merc having blessed aim, would help dramatically. Once you get into hell, it's an effective bruiser that gives no shits about elemental resists, which is where most of the other builds start to fall off or require Infinity -- and I ain't get 2 Ber runes.

Im playing one! With phoenix and death and i tell u, it ANNIHILATES anything, literally anything. attack rating is not an issue AT ALL…… the real issue is phys immunes, but with atmas amulet or even a swap lacerator for the amp damage proc takes care of it EASY.

People hate on the summon Druid but it was one of the easiest play throughout I’ve ever done. Ran into zero issues. Especially once you get werebear shock wave going.

Same here, Rolled a Summon Druid and its very simple and easy to play, just not the fastest but would make a good HC build. I only died once when I was starting out and being able to move pets around is nice.

Enchantress is A tier for all of ladder especially in hardcore (i dont know if this is the meta in softcore) but you make an enchantress and you can power all your alts thru normal to baal runs no problem. But this is a day 2 build, day one you level as anything else and then respec to enchantress.

Question ... what is better for summon necro leveling (and perhaps for druid summoner leveling) as merc? I know that act 2 NM merc is best, but what until then? Act 3 merc with enchant? Act 2 with Aim? Act 5 with his shout? Which one is good until Act 2 NM might merc? Or are some of them even better then might merc? If so, what should i prioritize in their gear?

you could make a tier list video, considering them at full potential, that is, assuming the player has the items that make the build shine. Because I think when you create a list and put some builds for lower rankings just because it's hard to get the items, you end up discouraging players from playing with those builds.

Playing Foh pally on HC ladder , self found items, lvl 81 right now. All you need is dual spirit, and insight on merc. Act 5 hell im still wearing stealth amor, dual spirit, self found shako,random rare belt, random rare boots, +1 pally amulet, chancies and garbage rings. No skillers etc, and he's totally fine

Bro, I think you need to take another look at the blade fury sin since the new patch. With the new attack rating bonus per level you just add some crushing blow and she absolutely shreds trav runs and bosses. (my gear: fleshripper, duress, guliams face, stormshield, drac's, gore rider, atma's ammy for phys immune).

Hydra was always my favourite skill of the game. Sadly LoD and introduction of casting delay all but killed it off (incidentally, I also think hydra was one of the main reasons casting delays were invented: back in vanilla days people would spam the screen full of hydras, causing massive lag & framerate issues to people with poorer connections and/or computers) I think meteor still has advantage over hydra in AoE pack clearing. However hydra is greater single target damage and is, after so long, a refreshing change of skill to use.

I think the Zoo-id is stronger than you give it credit. 2 damage types, high survivability, and your BowMerc lives. I give her an Insight, I have a spirit, and I spend the game playing, "Surprise, it's a Bear!" Ravens do good damage and a fully skilled bear is an amazing tank. Far better than a Summon Necro, sadly.

But you missed so many builds in solo playthrough section? Poison necro, frost nova sorc (new), holy shock zealot, werebear maul, fireclaw... and these arent meme, you can totally play through the game with them. Also attack rating isn't really the issue with melee builds, you're supposed to grind levels. Not everyone is a speedrunner and tries to do hell at level 60

Fist of Heavens sure as hell wasn't in S tier in any of those lists. FoH, physical Spearzons and Bladesins all went from awful meme builds to builds you can viably play through the game and farm with, without going insane. Hydra would not be part of any S tier sorc builds, nova didn't have static field synergy or energy shield to work with, phoenix strike and co. weren't NEARLY as smooth to use nor as good as they are now, elemental spearzon didn't get to wield Infinity, fire druid was much weaker, etc. x50 This is after ONE class balance patch.

Yeah check out a leveling guide for a specific build. Those will include early runewords you can make cheaply. Also, cheapest build in game early on is probably necromancer summoner. You can literally do anything with no gear so you can wear junk mf gear.

Is poison necro b tier only because of it takes longer for bosses? Because it wrecks PvM even at p8 with endgame gear. ie a high bramble. Also bladesin with phoenix and death is WRECKS p8 and bosses

First list is only for playthrough. Poison necro is S tier for the endgame list.

Imo, some spells are better on pc than console, for example, aiming tornado on console is annoying, but with mouse u can target behind monsters etc, where as it's up to rng where ur tornado goes on controller. Same with teleport, it will always teleport max distance possible, so no short teleports on consoles etc. Just little things like that make different builds more viable imo on console than pc

It originates from the Japanese grading system in schools which was then incorporated in Japanese fighting games (and other games). With the Japanese games rising in popularity over several decades, the grading system was then incorporated by other countries for games as well.
