Diablo 2: Best Assasin melee build? Tigers Strike Dragon tail!

So today we take a look at I believe my 5th melee assassin build. I try to answer why you should care about it, cause there defiantly is other melee assassin builds to consider. See below for written guide.

Remember I have full guides for all other builds I mention in this video. Rift Assasin is in fact one of my favourite melee builds, but I also liked the fire trap one quit a bit. So conclude for yourself what melee assassin build you like, even this one is very cool.

2022 update; This build is now much better with recent changes. Potentially among the top 3-5 best melee builds. Its minuses are better wider AOE and maybe survival. I streamed this build among others to see what was the best assassin build here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKOaenZvapVoebs

This was also my Skill build and I had lots of fun playing it. Tiger strike - Dragon Tail - adding Corps explosion (Death Sentry Trap). Creating a domino effect of waves of corps exploding mobs Setting off a chain reaction. 😁

Hello Djuntas. I am new to the Diablo franchise. I am in my 4th day of playing now. I can not believe I paid for a WOW subscription when this amazing game is only $10! I am enjoying both single and multiplayer. Some of the best things I have learned so far is press tab for map. /f add name for adding a friend. Arrow keys move the map. Hold alt reveals items on the ground. I am learning so much, and am absolutely blown away by how friendly and active the community is! I came from a CounterStrike and Starcraft background, and everyone here is so much more positive and willing to help each other. Any advice on an Amazon? I have not seen a single Amazon so far. I have seen mostly paladins and sorceresses. Is the Amazon good or is she so bad that no one plays her? I will look more into your channel to see if there is a guide, but will you create any updated guides in the future by revisiting them? I hope you stay safe and have good luck in all your endeavors. Hey dude, cool stuff. Diablo 2 is fairly easy to learn; I suggest you watch some speed-runners on youtube, get yourself involved on JSP (trading site etc), and watch some guides on YT. Or you can stay blind or just enjoy learning on your own. I love my javazon, but sadly bow amazon is fairly weak on any build, but javazon is...death, top-tier build, but you need infinity for it. How did you get these gloves? I'd say they are rare if the color of their name was yellow instead of orange which appears only on crafted items. However, blood gloves have cb, caster gloves have mana regen, hitpower gloves have ctc frost nova and safety gloves have cold res. But these gloves don't have any of these mods, so they are not crafted. Well then, what are these gloves?

Its done offline mate. Dont take the legitimacy 100% to the point, small mistakes here and there.

I never finished following build. But I used d flight (20 planed), cloak of shadow (one point) fade (20 planed or as necessary) with t strike (20 planed). Claw mastery and claw block (10 to 20 or as necessary). Does not have great gear like you. Used two assassins class weapons with high bleeding. Strategy was to charge strike and kill boss in the middle of blinded crowds. For merc I used rogue with knock back on bow, some knock back and slow target for me also (no necessary). I have been just nightmare diffi but all bosses was one shotted. Thought about it like true to class shadow warrior which strike at particular area. Traps was just one point towards death sentry used in case of overwhelming numbers. Though choice was shadow hence I was keen towards warrior but then swapped to master hence is more independent and I do not need to switch my skills to make it cast and also it do not take as much time until it begin to do so. For me this was by far most fun build I tried in d2 even I did not finish it with gear and skills.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on how this build would play with the new improvements to the martial arts tree. In particular it's pretty much guaranteed to hit when you want it to now, and with only using 1 charge rather than 3, (plus I think cobra strike would help a bit for utility, like a top up of your life/mana) it could be pretty good!

I played this build 4 years ago on Bnet, the damage is insane especially on Bosses (like Mephisto). But i used upped Gores.

I had a build for u ... The invisible paladin (95% all res even vs ubar mephisto 46% DR , 20 k+ defence and Max block ) with 10 k hammer @75 fcr and 11 k smite ... Pvm Gear ...grief PB at least 37 ias.. COA ber Lo .. Mara's ... E bugged exile in 45 res sacred targe ( all ebugged shields def is capped @355 and targe is the highest block rate) guardian angel ber ...(charge vigor for mobility) gore rider for OW and some CB.... arach.... SOJ Raven ...magefist .. Switch ...Spirit sacred targe (45 res and 35 fcr is important) and CTA in scepter with +3 to hammar and +3 to H shield 🧐 Merc .... Might .... Giant thresher or thresher pride ( will use its conc for the hammar) and eth andriel IAS jeweled and eth treachery (will borrow it from Merc sometimes) this will leave him with fastest possible attack for breaking CB and steal life for survival. ( There is no fancy rares or crafts all uniques and rune words) Inv ..Anni torch 9 combat skillers and 10 smalls ( complete FHR to 86 and all res to 95 then life and Mana) Skills ... Perfect @ 99 .. 1 might 20 bless aim 1 conc 1 fanaticism ( to be completed to Max from lvl 80 to 99) .. 1 prayer 1 defiance 1 cleansing. 20 vigor 1 meditation 👌1 salvation (for Uber meph) ......20 smite 1 charge 1 H bolt 20 hammar 1 H shield .. Stats enough str dex for Max block ..rest vitality ... With regular gear u have 31% DR and u can borrow trachery to break fade for extra 15% DR and 60 res especially for Ubers) Strategy in ....switch use vigor/ hammar charge for crowds and if needed meditation .. and vs bosses switch to smite with Grief fanaticism.

Those knockbacks are pretty funny lol, would drive me a bit mad but it looks great fun, kicking the royal hell out of everything in your path, and a very unique road less travelled build. Another awesome video by Djuntas! I'm nowhere near as good as you are at D2 but I've started a vampire assassin build using dragon claw and cobra strike with a few points in tiger strike just to bump up while hoping to max out certain obvious shadow skills like claw mastery, venom and shadow master, what do you think?

Yea its a fun enough build. If you ever not sure on a builds performance you can always test it offline (See my link in description). Anyway these martri builds are fun and they can work, but often they end up relying on traps. Id aim for rift assasin and dragon talon in most cases.

Using Ber'd Stormlash is my favourite, Lawbringer is a problem as it interrupts Death Sentry. If Lawbringer didn't have RIP it'd be amazing. Gore riders is preferable. Bartucs cut throat also works. I had a god tier build that did p5 and p7. Chaos does not suit the Dtail sin.

Hi! I have been toying with this build for quite some time and here are my two cents: equipment-wise, you could consider using Crown of Ages (two sockets, DR, resists, FHR, MF… - great for improving your survival). As far as shield goes, I’m currently using Phoenix, but firestorm proc is quite annoying, so maybe Head Hunter’s Glory would be a better option (socketed with 3 fire facets ofc)? And the most important thing - your fire damage is already astronomically high, hence there is no need to use Martial Arts skillers. In my opinion boosting trap (lightning) damage is a better idea, which helps with dealing with the immunities. And you should definitely cast Cloak of Shadows more often. It’s one of the best spells in the entire game (defensive-wise), rendering archers in The Pit a piece of cake. Cheers!

Dragon Tail is fun but unlike Vengeance the fire damage is dependent on the physical damage done. That lets you boost the Dragon Tail fire damage hugely with Tiger Strike but the universal 50% physical damage resistance in hell mode drops that a lot and then any fire resistance drops it more with fire immunes taking no fire damage at all, of course. Sure you’ll still do some single target physical damage on fire immunes but you’ll get no AoE damage on them. Even with Infinity on your merc there will be a lot of unbreakable fire immunes. Fun? Heck yeah! But not as good as other choices. Still, variety of builds is the spice of life in this game so it’s worth running at least once. Thanks for the good vid!

Yea, killing fire immunes is a bit slow, but as I noted not as bad as fire druid if thats any help :D

Even if You half the physical damage on Tiger Strike then You still have +720% on 20 lvl skill. Fire immunes will be pain though as AoE damage will not affect them. And for physical immunes You can't do anything. You can combine this build with Death Sentry or/and Venom though. Even lvl 1 Death Sentry is usable for corpse explosion.

Notice your merc stayed alive. Mine (holy freeze) keeps dying even in early Act 1 Hell...sigh

Im for sure making a TS-Dtail assassin with death sentry once i get lacerator . So probably will skip the law bringer and phoenix. But still great video.

How does tiger strike synergize with dragon talon? But yes lacerator is great choice, also could consider stormlash or even fleshripper :)

@@Djuntas I guess the best bet is Corpse Explosion from Death Sentry. It requires corpse though and still isn't effective against physical & fire immunes. Lightning damage from traps without maxed synergies is not good either. You can't do much about this build limitation. Trap assassin has 3 types of main damage: lightning, fire & physical (from Death Sentry CE) which makes it better for immune issues that's why it's more popular for PvM.

Hey thanks for the tips. I like to zoom in, just to make it easier for people to see. I imagine most people, while its alien and weird to me, watch YT on mobiles and smaller screens like that. Also from my own POV on desktop I find the UI to be a bit small without zoom. Can you point to a part of the video where you hated the zoom? like 00:04 etc etc But yes, I could be way better at speaking. I dont script anything.
