@@joeyferrell6102 even in newer games the stash isn't endless. For example, the stash in Diablo 3 has a limit. At least, I think so, I didn't play it as much as Diablo 2, so I'm not sure about this. As far as I remember, my stash in d3 was full of shit that I wasn't throwing away for some reason, but me personally - I don't like doing that) Well, D3 doesn't have a true single mode, so I kinda understand why they don't do that, and d4 might have a similar problem due to blizzard not making a single player games. This is just sad for me.

I've been farming for a Griffons for almost a month now. I've found 2x Mang Song's Lessons, Schaefer's Hammer, Stormlash, Deaths web x2, Nightwings x3 including a perfect one, Deaths Fathom 1 off perfect, etc etc etc. Plus many many more very nice and expensive items, bases and charms not to mention I've found 2 zod's in a 2 week period. But I still haven't found a Griffons Eye.. Why am I being cursed? I was running pindle just because he has the best chances on paper for time cost of running to drop Griff but I've also done many many hours of Pits, ancient tunnels, arachnids, and I even tried just farming WSK1.2.3. But the game just straight up doesn't want me to have a Griffons eye. I've found so many HR's I made a LastWish for my barb just because I could although I had already made 2 griefs, 2 EBOTD CB's, and a death for fun. His merc has a Pride just because why not I have cham's. My light sorc has awesome lifer light GC, infinity, 18/17 torch and a 20/18/7 anni. For MF her gear is pretty budget compared to the gear I have sat aside for when I find her a griffons. Tal's armor, ammy, belt, MageFist, WarTravs, ist OCCY, 35fcr spirit, 2x GG 10fcr rings but also have 2 soj's. I really really want to use Griffons Eye, Mang Song's, uped perfect vmage, 2x soj, a crafted 2/20 ammy with mana and res (already have), arachnids mesh, eth treks, magefist. I already have all this gear besides the griffons and I have several Ber's and other HR's so I could trade for one but I've found everything else so I really want to find a Griffons eye. Everyone wish me luck!

Items will try to roll each type of thing, and if it succeeds the roll to be set but can’t be a set item (for example here, there is no set Archon Staff) it will instead drop as a magic item with twice the durability as normal. Failed uniques are the same kind of thing but they drop as rares with triple durability.

Congrats on completing the grail llama. I have a question though if anyone could answer. How does an item fail to roll as a set or unique and how do you know? He mentions this while going over the archon staves.

Yeah chat gave an answer. Durability doubles (magic) and if theres no unique version of an item, it becomes rare (dbl durability i guess)

During the item drop process, after the game has chosen the base type of item the drop is going to be, the game rolls for rarity in the order of Unique, Set, Rare, Magic, Superior, Normal, and lastly, Low Quality. First, if the Items level (ilvl) is less than the Quality Level (qlvl) of the set/unique requirement for that item type or if the set/unique rarity doesn't exist on the lists of set/unique that it can drop as, such as a set Archon Staff (Doesn't exist). Second, if it rolled as a set, the item gains 2x durability and becomes magic. If it rolled as a unique, the item gains 3x durability and becomes rare. This also happens if the game tries to drop a second unique of the same item in the same game as once a unique item drops, it is removed from the unique list during that game and therefore drops as a rare with 3x durability.

Seriously tho ... we all can be heroes that overcome our personal demons, go on amazing adventures, help others with their quests, and even collect treasures along the way. We don't need to be angels from heaven or some great magical being, but rather just normal people that are persistent and steady runners. The more I watch D2 videos, the more I realize we are all just like Barbarians, Sorceresses, Paladins, Necros, Amazons, Assassins, and Druids, strong enough to go through hell and back just to bring peace and safety to others.

I know that eth items are rarer, but if they don't have the "indestructible" stat - how can they be valuable? Won't they just break after a short while? (Forgive me I'm dumb)

That is true, however, there are a few cases where Eth items won't break without a Zod rune to give them indestructible. Eth items equipped on a merc won't lose durability. Eth items with replenish quantity (throwables) or replenish durability over time are basically indestructible. Sometimes, the rarity of itself is what gives something its value.

what all do you have installed for mods? I installed some stuff just for widescreen mode in single player and I got all kinds of crap included. I disabled mostly everything but kept a few things enabled like auto-gold pickup and the bigger stash, but all the extra buttons don't display properly, and i think something that was included is affecting drops because i got a 100% magic find dagger in act 1 on normal.

Most items don't have a significant power gap between lowest and perfect rolls. Generally, it is the items properties itself which hold the power; with the low rolls being good enough. There are always exceptions but a perfectly rolled item is much more sought after because of it being much less likely to occur as compared to some form of low to high rolls.
