Listening to this brings back memories of when I was a kid and playing this. I was only 4 or 5 but I understood the story completely because I had watched my dad play it. I had a 3rd or 4th grade reading level at the time. I'm glad to see Blizzard made a patch to let W10 users play this

I stopped playing Diablo 3 a long time ago. I could never get into it. Diablo 2 still holds a place in my heart and I will never forget that " magic" it brought to me. Now I play 7 days to die and this game in all its bugs and problems makes up for the a lot of what was missing for me in games. Crafting and wandering around looking for stuff is what I really need from a game.

Like most gaming companies, after a successful game is released, they release the team who made the game and start with fresh faces. I don't agree with it, I would keep the same team as long as they were successful and kept making great games. I don't understand it. Given the technology of the time, they did a great job with making and producing and maintaining this game.

Let's face it. So, we got ( nowadays ) - World of Warcraft Legion - Hearthstone Mean Streets of Gadgetzan - Diablo III Reaper of Souls - Starcraft II - Heroes of the Storm - Overwatch First of all, Blizzard Entertainement bigger success imo : World of Warcraft I played it during ~6 years, and right now, I have to admit it, this game has become pure garbage. And it kinda hurt my feelings to say that. I started to play it at the well most " shiny " moment. WotLK. Cataclysm appeared to be really good to my eyes, unlike most part of the community. MoP was also very great, with a bunch of content and a good plot. Fight versus Garrosh Hellscream was ( and still is ! ) one of the most entertaining encountering in the whole game ! Like many others, I'm gonna tell that the most you played WoD, the most you found it sucky as fuck. I mean, for real, the Garrison was a FUCKING great idea, but it just rendered the game way too easier imo. They should have reduced gold looted or, at last, gear obtained by the minions. I just cannot handle the plot, always searching for stupid orcs for finally kill a demon we already raped in the past. And, finally... Legion. Alright, I got to admit... beginning of the extension was just the BEST moments of my WoW player life. All those changes in the story... it was awful and great at the same time, tbh. But right now... right now... I found Legion boring as SHIT. Every days, it's all the same : - Expeditions - Getting power for your ancestral weapon - Donjons ( Well, I guess so, but I found them all boring ) - Raids ? ( idk, Emerald Nightmare was just too easy and Halls of Valor way too hard ) It's getting pretty deep to be honest, and I don't think World of Warcraft will ever conquer back the public it has during 5 years. ( From Vanilla to WotLK ). Secondly : Hearthstone Well, this one was *kinda* excepted. I mean, since World of Warcraft has been a worldwide sucess, Blizzard Entertainement launched the trading cards game of it. Logical. I do like Hearthstone, and this game was a great idea. I just stopped to play it because, like most games of Blizzard, some spells or monsters are totally UNBALANCED compared to many others. The lader get even more cancer with the Old Gods update. Sad. Third on the list : Diablo, and oh my God, this one... is GOLD Diablo I : This is the BEST Diablo SO FAR for me. I, during a REALLY long time, prefered Diablo II, but doe... my nostalgia for Diablo I is... marvelous. This is, for me, the BEST game of Blizzard Entertainement so far with Warcraft Reign of Chaos. The atmosphere, the musics, the gameplay... everything is PERFECT. Diablo II : and holy fuck how much do I love this game ! I am still playing it today, and doe, I never had any regret by buying it ! Diablo III : I felt kinda disappointed when I started to play it. Atmosphere... wasn't the same. Gameplay was... too easy for me. I mean, for sure, if you never ever played any Diablo and start with Diablo III, it will appear to be hard for you ( logical ) but when, like me, you played Diablo I and II in the past, well... Diablo III will be a kindergarten. Literally. Fourth : Starcraft I and II : I never ever played any of those both games, but it looks great ! If anybody who is reading this comment plays it, I would love to got your mind about it ! Fifth : Heroes of the Storm : When Blizzard try to steal the popularity of the most well known game of our days... League of Legends. I didn't liked this game. It's just ridiculous to see how some characters can 1v2 or even 1v3 some others. Like I said, many characters are unbalanced in EVERY Blizzard games. And the last one of this already very long list : Overwatch It's kinda impressive to see how the popularity of this game escalated quickly. In fact, I don't play it, my father do, but I don't like it. Blizzard DIDN'T NEEDED to make a stupid FPS imo. The society just try to conquer more and more platforms and games-type, but it's starting to destroy the society itself. Very soon, Blizzard will fall. And it will be their fault. The road Blizzard is following is really ominous for it.

Diablo 3 is a Warcraft game with diablo lore, ruining it at that. I watched the production of it on the blizzard website and that’s how I knew not to bother with it before it even came out. Which is a true shame cause Diablo II is one of my favourite games ever. The nostalgia I get from this is something I won’t get again lemme tell ya.

What are your thoughts on the current progress of Diablo IV? Personally, I think it's walking the middle ground so far, but I'd like to hear the opinion of a veteran like you. I regret to say, I'm still relatively new to the Diablo series as a whole. (though GODDAMN, does the first game really pulled me in when I first tried that!)

MrDibara I watched the trailer and some gameplay, doesn’t really look impressive by today’s standards. I don’t think they’ll ever recapture what the original games had, but I’m biased by nostalgia. I doubt they can get away with having mutilated naked rogues lying around on racks and torture devices in detail anymore, they’re trying to appeal to children now lol (although I was a child when I played D2, and I loved that evil shit)

@@devinsdeathcult Well, at least I think they're _trying_ to keep the overall atmosphere rather dark, hostile and bloody. Yeah, not sure if they can get away with doing what they did in D1 and D2, but I'll be glad if they can get as close to that as they can with today's censors. D3 just didn't have that at all, it all looked to bright and too "World of Warcraft-like", it's like they had abandoned all the gothic and satanic influences. Now, I KNOW D4 will never be as good as D2, but as far as it doesn't get nearly as bad as D3 did, I have hopes that it will at least be a relatively good game for the franchise. No masterpiece, but at least worthy of the name "Diablo". We'll see, though. We still have *years* before they release it.

They never made it as dark as the previous games. Diablo III was more cartoonish and I think that removes a lot of the nostalgic feeling and why former fans of the games were suprised and felt deprieved. Diablo III is more like the warcraft franchise now were there story is not as serious but filled with jokes and some characters just does not fit in. (They also killed the mystic man, deckard cain).

@@johnnycats5157 I'd rather keep a relatively positive expectation, but I can't deny that possibility. Personally, I think aesthetically the game's looking promising so far. Maybe they could work better on the soundtrack, to improve the atmosphere. The gameplay... I'm sadly kind of a newbie to Diablo, so I can't say anything with certainty. But it looks pretty good so far, from an amateur's point of view. As for the story, there's really no way to tell until the game's release. I feel like that's just the reality of things when it comes to a game's story. (for instance, I had _huge_ expectations from Street Fighter V when the trailers were being launched... *and look where that went* )

D1 - 2 was just creepy and terrifying, always having a dark undertone to it, it had a lot of historical / cultural elements like head hunting pygmies in the jungles, risen pharoahs and sand cats -the monsters were actually interesting. D3 just doesn't have the appropriate setting and ambience; everything is cute, you can colour your own clothing, now you're not even allowed the option of failure in character development since you can retract your skills (was the company still crying about how to deal with those Korean players calculating, hacking, cheating the shit out of everything like it was noone's business?) the learning curve was a hard and painful one -that's what made it fun. Now it's like it was written for babies: Todd's fun little rpg out to please everyone so they decided to skip any creativity or thought behind it. What happened to the composer of D1-2 music? Was he fired? Even something simple like this can result in failure. For blizzard, Laziness and Commerce got to their heads.

Diablo 2 is a lot more difficult than D3 and it has that "magic" that I can't describe in words. But Diablo 3 is a pretty good game. It's not better than Diablo 2, it's worse, but it's a good game. In my opinion Diablo 2 is the best game ever, so you can't make a better game. Diablo 3 should be GOTY 2012.

I have a similar opinion, Diablo 3 was a pretty good game, but it doesn't nearly compare to Diablo 2. They're too different in my opinion, D2 was an action RPG, D3 was an action game with RPG elements.

I like diablo 3 more, it was a lot easier for me to learn and I like re-choosing my abilities whenever I want. Call me a noob if you want but d3 is awesome. The only thing I miss is the Amazing music.

maybe they wanted to do new things? honestly people like you are why many major games are scared to take risks. look at cod, the gameplay has barely changed since cod4, in fact its just been getting worse and worse. its now a small cage match. it doesn't even have decent maps anymore. look at most major games, they just refuse to do something fresh in a sequel because they think their fans are gonna act like you are right now. if you want to play diablo 2, play diablo 2. its that simple

but diablo 3 is more fun. because the only way to get to lvl 99 in diablo 2 is ball run over and over again. the same every time, in diablo 3 you can take any act you like. and just set higher mp.
