I remember when I was a kid and finally got to act II. I had no idea what I was doing and found it to be crazy hard, I died constantly. The Desert/Toru music is laser etched onto the surface of my brain because I spend WEEKS trying to get through Act II.

As a kid, I got through Act 1, and the macintosh I was using stopped functioning correctly after I got to act 2. Farthest quest I got to was the one where there's darkness in the desert. Now, I have D2 on my laptop, and I'm slowly playing it as my necromancer Araj. I also purchased D2 back when they sold it in a physical battle chest format, where it came with original Diablo, Diablo 2, and the Diablo 2 expansion Lord of Destruction.

On the plus side, the lack of the Tristram theme means 7 more minutes of other music in this soundtrack, and the legendary reputation of the theme means most are likely to seek it out or stumple upon it anyways. On another note though, I will never understand why they don't simply put EVERYTHING on the soundtrack. In almost every game, series or movie there are themes, sounds and soundtracks that you as a fan would love to get your hands on, but they are for some reason not included in the official soundtrack release. There is entire communities for unreleased OSTs cutting up parts of media trying to fit together those missing pieces. But why make that a necessity in the first place?

How? How could this be made, and never matched or even copied? You can listen to a thousand classical tracks and a thousand 70's prog rock tracks, you can spend years on youtube digging in the most obscure ambient tracks, melodic death metal, experimental dungeon music... Nothing, no one ever really copied that style. It's unique. You'll find bits and pieces that kinda have the same vibes in all the aforementioned, but it's only that, bits and pieces. No one else has ever mixed and used these elements like Matt did in that work. It's a damn shame. Except LoD expansion, this one is kinda normal Danny Elfman type stuff.

I was recently listening to, "Nahtram - An Ominous Journey", and was blown away at what sounded exactly like some Matt Uelmen Diablo 2 style music. The piece starts at 3:30 mark and goes until 5:17. There is a 30 second electric guitar part which obviously isn't very D2-esk, but it still sounds great and goes back to a more fitting style afterwards. I wonder if anyone feels the same about this game as i do. I struggled a lot to get rid of diablo 2 addiction, i never used drugs or anything, but i supose the effect is basically the same. When i listen to this soundtrack i feel like its some kind of black hole or gravity trying to grab me back, i wonder if i will play it again someday, im 33, and this game has caused a big damage to my life, yet, i still love it. @@DavidAbyssal i could say d2 was some kind of escape from my life at school. During classes i used to make strategies about what to do in that day, item lists etc... i played d2 sometimes during university (i dont know the term you use, after college?).. and then i stopped. During pandemic i tried to play again for about a week or two and since i was more mature i knew what i was doing was wrong.. and since then i could say i might be done with this game. I barely play games anymore sadly... but i think now i dont miss this game that much anymore.
