just a heads up compase rose normally rolls with movement bonus, so your boots and ring can get you really close to the 25% cap so you can put all your paragons into intellect. well if it rolled with a socket

+DocSardo It's the game. It's way more beneficial to stutter step and move through enemies rather than standing still and kiting at a distance. If enemies are in front of you, chances are you're going to be moving through them for maximum efficiency and clear times. That's why melee wizards will always be more attractive, and firebird's as a ranged set did a decent job of being attractive in 2.2, but it was ultimately the same idea: Hit enemies, kite them and keep moving forward. As a melee wiz, you don't have to worry about the fussiness of distance with Zei's Stone or making sure enemies are in range when they're offscreen.

My experiences have shown the Archon laser ability much better for getting high stack counts much, much faster than punching enemies allowing you to get much more out of each subsequent Archon cast. I've got 400+ stacks this way many a time and CHantodo's cleans up nicely. Once you get 200+ stacks you can easily machine gun punch pretty much anything down without needing to worry about your survivability.

I thought about this build as well and Im not surprised to see that your archon build is almost identical with the one I thought of ( maybe because of variety of archon items ), but I would use Wand of Woh for triple explosive blast as kanai weapon. I havent tried if it works in archon as well but I will give it a try in couple of days. Gotta try this build out.

Commander Rhykker , will you be doing a tal rasha set video? in 2.4 i haven't been able to get with a tal rasha build above GR 53 and all the guids i see are only for speed farming t 10. Now with the buff in damage the set receives i hope it will become a more viable set for higher greater rifts.i have tried a couple of builds i came up with but i couldn't get the necessary damage to get higher than 53. Keep up the good work, number 1 :D

Nice video bro! Very well explained. Can you explain me something? Why you use 19% ARCAN damage and 20% FIRE damage? I mean as pure multiplier its 1,19 x 1,2 = 1,428. Compared to just 20% FIRE and 20% FIRE = 1,4 FIRE its only 0,028% less damage. Is there another reason, but the 0,028% more damage, for choosing 19% ARCAN damage? is the reason maybe the little extra damage for your arcan abilities?

Man I really wanted to play Vyr set season 9, I just tried it at paragon 600 and if you die just once mid grift your pretty much doomed. This set needs a major buff. I'd say +10% damage per archon stack and 50% damage reduction when archon expires for like 15-30 seconds to help players get back into Archon mode, these buffs would be reasonable. Though other wizards sets might need a minor buff as well if my idea goes through, I'm so salty I'm venting on a old Wizard video lol, firebird Archon just doesn't feel that fun.

Thanks, just confirmed nothing has changed at all with Archon - just been buffed due to all the multiplicative stats rather than additive. It's sad how such a powerful skill can feel so boring, with only on option in it. will probably see a drop in the Archon skill bonus itself, but other than that, I think it's pretty much on par with the rest of the set buffs

I hope Blizzard fixes the "auto-cast" exploit and replace it with something simple, like in Titan Quest, you just had to right-click on a skill in your skillbar and it would auto-cast as long as you have enough mana. Simple and efficient. And it was 10 years ago !

cdr is good but this build hasnt really changed from s4 from what ive seen and in s4 we stopped with so much cdr stacking on gear and started stacking area dmg in the end of the season so it might end up being the same, but thats just my thought.

I was trying this build but aparently it deals 0 damage. Im not sure if the nerf to the extra archon damage killed it or if the fact that my chantodo wand only has 2000 damage is doing this but Im runing it with glass canon and still nothing dies.

hint: "stacking as much cooldwon as possible" - term isnt correct. you want to have between 51-54 % CDR - why is that? when you enter the rift, you need to snapshot obsidianring of the zodiac, also bane of the stricken and the counter of chantodos. you will see players often go pressing their health pots during the first or second archon rotation because of that. else you are not prepared to stack chantodos to 20 until your obsidianring proc the rest cooldown of archon (you will have like 3-5seconds of downtime basically which is pretty solid)

+sherif abdou are you playing on console or PC (I presume the latter)? Turn of any AV on PC and any firewall too. I'm not sure if there are any NAT tunnelling required to play on battle.net, but I presume so. Check that NAT tunnelling is required and the ports and make sure that they're open, either to all internal IP addresses on your LAN, or to your PC's lan side IP address. Just cos your Internet is working doesn't mean that there's not a routing issue to blizzard's servers, or an intermittent routing issue. DNS can do funny things too if there's issues with routing to blizzard's name servers...

Any noticed the 4 player group wizards on the ptr leader board? They are using archon with the teleport run, but yet they are using the 6 piece firebirds set. Anyone know why they are using firebirds? Because without the combustion rune you're not doing fire damage and proccing the 6 piece bonus. Please enlighten me.

It doesn't work for me. When I go back to normal form I run out of arcane so quickly I can never get 20 Chantodo's fast enough, and I have all the gear. I think I'm using the build properly, but I can't hold my own in GR60 let alone, 70, 80, or 85. Ice Shield tends to go off on it's own, literally. I only activate ice shield once, at the very beggining of the rift, but it seems like it's always in cooldown.

It tends to happen when you aren't pulling big enough groups. Take advantage of the lighting spread by channeling on large groups (don't worry they'll be frozen/stunned most of the time). Also, realize that the ring passive will proc on any skill that's on CD so be sure that archon is the only thing that is if you can help it. That will greatly reduce the channel time required to bring your archon off CD and you will usually have your 20 stacks as well.

You get frost nova from the ring you don't need to equip that skill to benefit from the stun on the bracers but you do need the ring

"OP" I hate it when people use that word. It slows progression. Not that things in games can't be "OP" but it seems that most don't understand what that word even means anymore. This build COULD NOT clear GR200 and at this rate we never will clear GR200 because of people calling things "OP". They laid off their lead level designer meaning that they are not releasing more expansions, which means the game is nearing the end of it's life cycle. This game may have another 2 years online left and at this rate we will not clear GR200. So thanks a lot for slowing progress, really appreciate it :P

this build is OP but it require a lot of set up and careful strats + good rift to actually being OP. I found it really painful at the start of GRs cuz you have to build up 20 stacks before actually doing any damage and without any archon stacks you are basically a sitting duck waiting to be slaughtered.

Just from reading the patch notes, I'm fairly certain DH is going to be back to #1 dps. Ugh... I wish they could just bring back Archon to what it used to be in Vanilla. It was so powerful...granted this build does eventually get powerful. But when you enter archon form, you should already be doing tons of damage. You shouldn't have to scale it up over an entire rift level to reach maximum power.
