The radial dial is very precise and as a primary pc player it's common to have issues with it. Literally most of your issues you're having are either settings or lack of muscle memory with a controller. So that's a good thing that your only issues with the game are just that you aren't good with controller dexterity

I don't think muscle memory is enough. I've played several seasons on PS4 and Xbox One (S/X) and I still have trouble. I'm just starting S15 on the Switch now (L70, Chapter 4) and I can see the same issues. My muscle memory is fine - I point right at the category I want and see exactly what I want to interact with. Then I let go of the stick and at least 1/3 of the time it selects an adjacent category on the release. They need to add some "debounce" code so that it won't change the category as the stick is being released. The same thing happens with many of the skills to drop a charged item. About 1/3 to 1/2 of the time I'll get two of them - again likely because they haven't added any debounce code. PC keyboards have debounce logic embedded into them and a PC program doesn't even have to be aware of this issue, but it looks like console expects the game programmer to deal with it. Debounce isn't an issue for most games when you aren't triggering finite charged abilities and the processing likely slows down rapid deployment of non-charged or "plentifully charged" skills like bullets in a FPS, so they probably don't do it by default, but if you don't want to waste all your sentries on the first pack in D3, it needs to be added...

The fact that the switch version can be played entirely offline in single player mode as opposed to the pc versions always online requirement even in single player is a huge advantage for me which makes me want to play the switch version that much more! Because for me the experience of d3 on the pc was horrendous... Since my internet wasn't always stable.. So I would get disconnected often During rifting etc...

I'm surprised Rhykker hasn't played D3 on either PS4 or XB1. I can immediately tell he has never done so because the UI and control settings for the switch are almost directly mirrored from the D3 ports to these consoles. For anyone that might be dissuaded by Rhykkers opinion on the controls as someone coming from PC solidarity, I can say from my own experience has someone who has never touched PC D3 and started on console that the controls are definitely, like he said, VERY optimized and as soon as you get the muscle memory down, which doesn't take long especially if you're not a PC gamer first, it becomes buttery smooth. D3 console dev team really nailed the integration of the game for console users.

The amiibo portal brings in a bunch of monsters to fight that drop loot. I think any amiibo works and it’s probably one a day for each individual amiibo.

+Rhykker when you pick up gear, you don't have to go into your inventory to equip it. You can do it while in game. Just press the up button on the left joycon. It will cycle through all the gear you picked up and give you an option to equip it, junk it or drop it. It will show you the stat arrows to show you if it's better gear as well. Also when using the thumb stick to highlight items and gear in the inventory wheel, hold the stick in a direction and go in a circle around the rim of the controller and the cursor works more accurately.

hi i just started playing again since it came out for switch. i started with a monk hardcore non seasonal. from what i remember in the past i would be mouse clicking where i want to drop the bell, do you know how it will work out with the controller. will it just drop to the nearest enemy that your looking at? will the builds be pretty much consistent as the pc builds? thanks in advance.

Have you figured out the quick equip menu? It's up on the dpad/left side buttons. The text will show above your character bar. There you can do a quick sort of what you got and do a fast equip of loot grabbed and shows you the new runes/powers unlocked.

I am really glad to hear you enjoyed the switch port. I pre-ordered the Diablo console. I'm betting you would have had a much better experience navigating the UI and moving if you used a pro controller. I also pre-ordered the powerA Diablo controller. Pro controller layout is superior to the joycons in most applications. I'd definitely recommend considering adding a pro controller to your switch. :)

I have d3 on ps4, i have to say, i really hate the menus, selecting gear, skills and look in stash etc. Im so used to PC, that it really was a huge turn off. I cannot understand why we cannot have the same menus on console. Just looking at the char and identify what items is not legendary etc, is annoying.

MylilPwny Because the console version started on PS3 / Xbox360 which did NOT have the touchpad. A fake mouse cursor SUCKS using a thumb stick, buttons are WAY faster. The PS4 touchpad _could_ be used but Blizzard isn’t interested in changing the UI nor input devices when the game is basically in maintenance mode. Console UI blows the PC version out of water and I say that as PC Master Race 120 Hz or Bust. As someone is who has been gaming for **~40 years** and is _just_ starting to get Carpal Tunnel this year the excessive clicking on PC sucks ass because you can’t modify the Primary Skill / Interact off of the mouse button and onto a key. My wife has already given up on D3 on PC because she has Carpal Tunnel worse then me. The dual game pad plus button layout lets us use thumbs on both hands. Once I’m done with season 15 on PC I’ll be going back to PS4 where we both can play pain free. For every 1 person who hates the console UI you’ll find 10 people like it.

you can equip upgrades when you loot them without going into the inventory it shows you if the item is an upgrade and you can scroll through the drops with the "d-pad" (arrow buttons on switch)

There are a lot of console games that are exclusives that are well worth playing, even for PC gamers. I have a PS4, Switch, and multiple custom-built PCs, all well worth having and playing for different reasons. Currently, I am enthralled with the Switch and hope to build quite the collection (both exclusives and games to anywhere/anytime), but I prefer PS4 for exclusives, and PC for games with high-end graphics, RTS, and FPS. On a side note, I have seen some video guides on how to set up a mouse and keyboard for the Switch. That would come in handy when playing docked and then use the joysticks when playing on the go.

How does Teleport work with a joystick? Since you can't paint directly at the sport where you want to teleport to, do you just teleport into the direction that you are aiming, similar to how Vault works?

Switch to switch online, as well as switch to switch LAN. There was a rumor console to PC crossover was coming but Blizzard squashed the rumor, it's assumed this is primarily due to a lot of hacking on ps4/xbone.

When you get a chance, take a look at the Belial fight. The camera is not isometric like the PC tends to be. Instead, it’s more like a zoomed out over-the-shoulder styled view. It’s unique to the consoles.

You can also lock on to enemies with left trigger on ps4 version, i assume same for switch

you need to take the yellow orbs. its dubble damage on console. console playes have half damage from pc players. when you take the orbs, the caracter gets the same damage as pc players. thats why you die more often :)

I've put about 100 hours into the Switch version. When my Demon Hunter became really good, I started noticing that my projectiles would occasionally not appear visually. I'm pretty sure it's because I'm putting out so much damage at once that the Switch compensates by removing visual effects so the game doesn't drop frames. (Full marauder set, having up to five sentries out at once, six animal companions following me, two clones, etc, can be a bit overwhelming for the system.)

my only two gripes with the console version is 1. the screen is zoomed in too close, and 2. leap with the barbarian should be tuned better. holding the lock on button should make you lock on to the closest enemy (which it does) and make you leap in place when you are not locked on to an enemy while holding lock on (which it does not). I know you get a 5 second cdr instead of 10 second due to the inaccuracy of leap tho. Everything else is fine.

I have them all. PC with RTX 2080 Super, i9 9900k @5GHz WC, 64GB DDR4, NVME *4 plus 5 screen setup. I have PS4 Pro, X1X, Xbox360, PS3 and Wii. I don't have time though.... When I was playing, I mostly used my PC (I play a lot of indie games from Steam as I find them much more interesting to me (start playing at age of 3 on Amiga 500 in '89, so maybe I saw most of it). Then I checked Switch again.... Bought it... Bought Mario to play it with my better half.. Loved it... Then checked what else there is for a Switch. Found Farming Simulator, Overwatch and Diablo 3.... Within 1 month I've bought ~ 50 titles including Diablo 3. Definitely it is one of my top games that I play now. I work as senior software engineer so I have ~ 1.5h break during a day. Mostly I play Diablo 3 / Let's Farm Together / Stardew Valley. Love Diablo 3 for Switch, very similar to PS4P/X1X version (I have diablo on PC, PS4, X1X and PS3). Yeah, graphic might be a bit worse than on RTX 2080 with 4K 49" screen that I am sitting in front off, BUT I can play it WHEREVER, WHENEVER AND HOWEVER LONG I WANT. I LOVE IT ! Have 5 minutes during CI/CD pipeline build/release ? Let's play quickly D3 :) I would but Switch again, just for D3 ! There is a bunch of games coming from Steam that I already own but never had a time to play them, now I have at least a chance :)

Sound research and an analytic, non-bias mindset. If you try to defend Blizzard in what has transpired in the last two days then I will have lost hope in not only Blizzard, but it’s community voice (you). This is no longer about the mobile game. I actually find it easier to move around with a controller than with a mouse. When I'm aiming left and I need to quickly run right, it's much faster to flick the analog stick in the other direction for me than it is to move the mouse cursor over to the other side of the screen (I don't even use the dodge roll much), and especially in the other direction where you have to find the monster you were targeting again (on console once you're targeting something just hold down the left trigger I think to keep a target lock on it). But it may take a little more experience using the analog sticks if you've never used them. I am also a PC gamer (since 1996 or so), but have had the original Xbox, the 360, Wii U and now a PS4 and a One X next to it (the last one is quickly becoming my main system actually). I do agree that it can be finicky to select the correct slot in the inventory wheel and I don't think there's a way to cycle through them. I find Diablo 3 on console more relaxing to play, in large part because of the auto targeting. Just sling your spells or arrows or whatever in the general direction of baddies and it'll be okay. This does however also depend on your build. I found shadow impale for instance much less fun to play on console than on PC because it's much harder to precisely target who you want to kill in a huge pack of monsters (you can target lock once you have them but getting there can be hard).

My first experience with Diablo was on console back in 98 on PlayStation. I later played it on the pc but I disliked the whole click to move mechanics. I was very disappointed that Diablo 2 never got released on PlayStation 2. I still played It on pc ofc xD, but I have always felt that hack and slash ARPGs like diablo feels better with a controller.

Yeh but games made for mobile on a free to play model are normally pay to win. And the pc/console fan base deserved better. Too many people are getting their IPs destroyed

1st You can hold r to lock target therefor u can move back while attcking. 2nd You need the orbs gives 2x dmg. 3rd u can slowly move the joystick u don't have to hit target at first try. If u hit 10'o clock instead of 11 u can simply just move the joystick up slowly. And u get use to it and then u will hit on ur first try :) Cheers keep up the good work
