I think that it is reasonable to ask the question whether or not a character class that relies entirely on non-melee abilities should have any cool downs at all, let alone for 70 seconds. My biggest issue with my sorceress is at level 61, I can walk into any room and melt the entire room and then I have to stand there for 20 or 30 seconds until I go into the next room or else I’m going to get killed, because as an added bonus, the only other benefit of our most important stat is that resistances are going to be huge and they are currently completely broken. So no survivability, and we definitely have the ability to clear entire rooms or entire mobs, but if anything else runs up we are fucked

I would also add, I do like the build videos and what they could look like if you have optimal paragon placement and optimal gear, but that doesn’t do a lot for me until I get there, which I am clearly having trouble doing. I’m not playing nearly as much as a streamer that is playing for 12+ hours a day, but I’m still playing three or four hours a day and I’m only level 61 and have trouble clearing quite a bit of things with any builds that I have found online because they all require endgame gear and a decent understanding of how damage even works in this game which is pretty unintuitive and a game made for casuals should be anything but unintuitive

loved this build since day one.. im a laid back kinda gamer and it fits my style of play..i swap out ice shield for lightning orb to spam orrbs while spaming arc lash at times and for more tanky situations i move ice armor back into rotation...keep up the awesome work and thanx for supporting us arc lash guys ❤❤❤

If you don't need the damage reduction from the teleport passive you could take the other passive which allows your Crackling Energy to hit 2 more enemies and effectively increase your cooldown reduction by 50% going from 4 hits to 6

This was an obvious route to go for me if we're leaning into the CE cooldown. Our chest stuns, and frost nova freezes, so I feel the 3 second damage reduction is not impactful.

Another Build Variation: Once you got enough paragon you can use the unique amulet which releases a lightning nova with a 10% chance when you pick up CE, and get chain lightning passive where 25% chance to spawn crackling energy on crit. Then the legendary aspect which increases the chance to spawn an aditional ability during unstable currents by 20%. You spawn sooo many CE and release so many lightning novas around you that you can melt bosses even without overpower

What NM dungeon tier are you pushing? That seems interesting, but does the CE make up for the CDR we lose on the ammy? WIth the Maxroll build I was pretty much pushing up to 60 and then .. kind of got stuck. I changed to Blizzard, but might come back to this since it's fun to teleport all over the place

ive been playing without CDR on ammy, unstable currents is at 46 sec CD. its not that noticeable to lose the CDR on ammy so this could be cool. my build is a little different though as I use Meteor and frost nova in my enchant slots, with some meteor aspects on gear. its not as steady, but it really shines once it gets going and it looks good . huge bursts of damage. also been considering using the aspect that spawns 2 lightning spears or the aspect that gives u free casts from unstable currents while its inactive just to have more frost novas popping off

Just got my first rainment at 76 and oh my, it simply changes everything. I also got a 1 hander with no less than 60% basic, 35% close, and 40% overpower damage and the whole game just changed in one night with this build. I thank you for this video. I was getting bored as crap with the lack of endgame but when this build comes together, the carnage and sorc tankage just makes it fun again. Thank you for sharing. This video is the reason the game is still fun for me. With that massive boost in DPS I now run ball as an enchantment and yeah, it's nuts. #lifegoals

I added the ball lightning orbit as well since that only works when you use unstable currents. You don't need the buff to remove a cool down on defense as cooldowns are super low anyway with this setup.

This works really good with chain lightning 25% chance at creating crackling energyt on crit. The floor is littered with 10-20 per large pack ensuring you always hit the cc timer plus mana if you spec into the mana on pick up passive. Paired with warmth/temerity I'm able to push higher tier NM but your kill time is still slower than ice shards. I have been testing with Fists of Fate and chain lightning is great for utilizing the damage/lucky hit bonuses

So one suggestion: Instead of storm swell on the weapon for 20% to vulnerable when barrier is active, use edgemaster (now that it's fixed I believe) since you never use mana you will have 20% to all damage under all circumstances. Also... I FINALLY GOT MY RAIMENT TONIGHT! It dropped from a helltide commander chest, super excited, it really does tear things up. Just need to upgrade my gloves a bit before slapping the crackling energy aspect and I'm all tricked out per the guide :D

You could already do this before the patch. It's not that good because you can't have permanent unstable currents against bosses and very small groups of enemies. And you can't maintain a permanent group of enemies to drag around with teleport, because they break out with CC immunity.

We recommend farming Dungeons, World Events, and World Bosses if you want to get this Aspect. This build becomes infinitely better if you make a few changes. Don't take ice armor, instead put ball lightning on your bar in its place. Get the aspect that makes ball lightning orbit around you. Take the legendary node that gives you mana on stun. This will allow you to have a skill to kill things in the downtime. Even though this video says "no CD unstable currents" the reality is unless you have large groups of mobs you are going to have downtime between your ult. By adding ball lightning you get a way to quickly kill things and you still get the crazy ult CD reduction this build provides. Arc lash hits like a wet noodle on small packs of mobs. Its a great build for sure but making these few changes has made it a lot better in T50+ NM dungeons.

@@XeLLoS47 Don't remember if I put in guide but you can find +4 ranks of Teleport/Fire Shield/Frost Nova on boots when they are 5/5 upgraded. This allows you to max out those much needed defensives with only taking a point in each. Those and finding a amulet with +3 to devouring blaze are the two biggest things to try to find.

Until Sorcs can speed clear 60+ NMD it's a wasted discussion. No Sorc builds can keep up with other classes, the DPS and survive just aren't there. You have to work way harder to be way less effective in the end. I don't know about you guys but I don't care about speedfarming NMD 50s, most decent Sorc builds can do that. The problem is when you hit the wall and realise there is no point in playing your character anymore because you won't progress, it doesn't matter what gear you find so there's no reason to look.

Since we are going for more Crackling Energy is there a reason not to go up to the rare - Conduit to get more cracking energy damage before thinking about the last board. - I also took off the Exploit gylph and repaced it with Charged on the starter board as I valued the larger benefit as the Crackling energy vs the Vulnerable damage - for me 90% for Crackling or 20% for Vulnerable.

Ah yes, because only the builds that 1% of the playerbase can get 100% use out of for hard content is a great measuring stick. Only need to fight level 85+ enemies for chance at best gear in the game, so what does it matter if you cant do level 130+ enemies? If the build is functional but boring af to play then its a fail in my book. Ill take fun synergy over min/max optimization anyday.

There are allot of passives and aspects that add great survivability for lighting, I added flame shield and I get reset procs for both on a very consistent basis before my shields run out....though ice armor tends to reset much faster for some reason Edit: I should add that teleport does as well

Arc Lash was a no from me the first time I used it. Such a wimpy attack, no range for a glass cannon class, requires the whole rest of the build to be survivability just so you can spam a free skill. Or you can put some work in to your mama and cooldowns and have a real build.

Not to mention the irony since both Ice Shards and Arc Lash builds both use the same 4 defensive skills, stacks cooldown reduction, and ( once you have enough mana traits ) both spam a single button for all their damage. You can prefer one build over another, you can even say that Ice Shards is a lot stronger and you'd be right. Arc Lash kills stuff just fine, especially during Unstable Elements. If you are struggling to kill things, you may not have all the right gear/talent/aspect/paragon power required to make it scale up to your current level. I am level 81, without a Raiment chest, and I can pretty easily clear 45 Nightmare dungeons. So I know that once I get the more optimal gear and paragon set up finally I'll be klling stuff even better.

I'll have to give this a try. I liked the other orbital ball lightning build, but it's busted because the orbiting ball lighting are currently breaking on collision with terrain. Walls, doorways, room columns, decorations. Regardless of whether it is intentional or a bug, it makes tight spaces (like Kor Dragan) a miserable play experience. You’re basically getting the resource sapper debuff because of terrain collision.

Most people just do not understand the hours of work put into doing these builds and sharing the content with everyone. Rage keep up the hard work and everyone else will just continue copying your builds while they trash talk.

Because majority of people who actually look at good builds know that these guys just steal plenty of other builds and then re-release them with minor changes as "their builds". Look at their barb/necro/druid and even ice shard build. Not only that, but many people already know that vulnerable affix is not the best one in the game since your +cold/+lightning/+fire damage from paragon and from gear don't stack they multiply each other, so if you have +300% to fire dmg from paragon board and then you equip +20% to fire dmg on a ring it makes overall 360% to fire ( 300*0.2 = 60 ), get yourself more of that stat on gear instead of vulnerable and you can skyrocket that type of dmg to almost 700% (687-698), that outperforms any vulnerable builds by a ton. So going back to this arclash build if the guy actually had brains instead of mania to just upload videos to his youtube to get money, then he would've known that he could stack lightning dmg up to 600% + completely ignore vulnerable and get arclash to crit for 1mil without the need to apply vulnerable instead of 450k in a short 6 sec vulnerable window. I'm not even going to go to the part where if you put both firebolt and frostbolt into enchantment slots you can benefit twice from burning+chilled dmg multipliers and get even bigger damage numbers + you can put less offensive aspects and more protective ones and be fine clearing tier 100. Coz now you see that he only shows us dungeons with mostly melee mobs, in dungeons with poison+ranged his build will crumble even if his going to do lower tiers.

I'm confused, why are you not running the Accelerating Aspect to get even more attack speed. With Unstable currents constantly up you will be critting with core skills all the time > upping your attackspeed by a big chunk again and dishing out even more damage way more than most other conditional % aspects that add damage, since % damage usually don't stack fully in d4 as I understand it. Especially if you would run the aspect in the amulet. Don't forget this is raw attackspeed increase so this should mean flame shield ticks faster.... And I still have to test this,... but potentially crackling energy triggers faster hits scaling on attacks peed as well? Sounds like a good topic for a video, testing the cracking energy tick rate vs attack speed ;)

%[x] damage stacks fully. Control (on the amulet) has the little [x], and each instance applies separately for up to three multipliers of 35%[x]. Attack speed has diminishing returns though as they stack additively: Rapid is already 30, so even with just that, accelerating would only be 155/130, or less than 20%. But accelerating is still super good because it speeds up all the animations of every skill.

Yea i think the guy above me is right. it says + for attack speed but most %damage has an x. I do think i have enough attack speed and dont seem to notice it any faster with 25% from unstable along with faster attack speed from wand/focus, helm attack speed, glove attack speed, and focus attack speed% so thats like 80-90%+ along with paragon nodes idk if any of that is right.

Bro I used your first 3 boards on my shard build. Swapped a few glyphs and grabbed a couple of extra nodes (a bit of lucky shot etc) and it's really well balanced. Before I had nothing but damage (lots of non physical) and a few wasted slots of resists. My guy was twitching with juice but if shields failed a trash mob would bend him over, lol. Now I'm back in the fight. Nice job.

I managed to finally get a true zero cooldown at level 71. It really is absolutely insane but the issue I have is mob density. It's pretty rare that I find a dungeon with enough mobs around to keep it going. The most I've done is 3 UC's in a row without a CD in a nightmare dungeon. World events are not doable at all because everything gets melted so fast by others so it's rare when it happens but when it does holy crap...absolutely unstoppable. My thing is I use Destructive chain lightning instead of flame shield for a lot of extra DPS and because I never die anyways and it gives even more crackling energy and I have +4 ball lightning so I spam them anyways without needed to spend points on the skill so it works out very nicely. I run Iceheart Brais boots, fire bolt and fireball enchantments, and everything on the screen gets frozen and explodes in a blink. That said I don't use the damage reduction teleport either but the one for extra crackling hits, I run as much DPS as possible. The only thing that kills me, is me, when I make a stupid mistake. Even the butcher is just no match at all for me and honestly I don't see the big deal with him, to me he's just another mob in my way that gets melted quickly. It's a lot of fun lol. Also, it appears to me that the key is the lucky hit. My crit is a little lower than I'd like but my lucky hit is 53% and once that came up the build really took off. There's more crackling energy on the ground than I need now, it's just a screen full of it lol. Esu's Heirlook boots certainly help the crit though as they can give a huge bonus if you play agressively which you need to with this build anyways. They really push the crit up to an acceptable level and help you avoid damage at the same time. Every evade makes for a lot of yellow damage and you may think 1 second is a waste but I can evade almost every second anyways so yes, they really are underrated boots and they work wonders for this build.

Im doing a crackling energy build as well and i really like the gameplay of it. Im using it with spark and chain lightning. Im only 43 but i like it enough to keep with it for a while. I find it much more engaging to collect crackling energy while battling, it makes me think about positioning as well.

Nice build, and may try it one day. I’m using a very similar set up except that I have ball lightning (gravitational) instead of teleport (which i’ve used as an enchantment slot). Evade becomes teleport - with a 40% cd reduction and boots with attack 1.5s reduction, i’m able to teleport every 4 secs, and during unstable current, every 2 secs, stun locking almost everything. If groups are large enough, the cd for unstable current gets down really low and up for next pack. I’m trying to get more attack speed to lower teleport cd. Spam ball lightning until oom. Arc lash to fill in the gap, lower teleport cd, getting the 20% dmg reduction with aspect for survivability and proc stuff during unstable current spam when no mana.

I followed RageGamingVideos after I tried the amazing Orbiting Ball Lighting Build. That being said, I could NOT replicate this to what I saw in the video. The aspects were there, the gear was solid, but it just didn't work. The frequency for Unstable Currents is nice, but it's so less reliable than having a lighting buzz saw around you perma-stunning everything. Honestly, I feel a hybrid build using Orbiting Ball Lighting and still leveraging the Crackling Energy buffs would better. I still love this channel and I hope you continue to put out amazing, unique character builds for us to try.

Wouldnt the Aspect that adds X% of damage based on the amount of available resource be IDEAL for this build? Given the fact that we use basically no mana, nearly all casts would get the full benefit. Assuming this applies to the basic skills (i dont see why it wouldnt?) that would be a huge boost to dps.

Is there a location where drop rate of Abundant Energy aspect is higher? Been playing the build without for 3 days, farming NM Dungeons and buying focus with Obols. I got douzens and douzens of legendaries and not a single drop of the aspect. The build works fine without, but would be faster with the aspect.

@@BamBam-wh7nt playboy is actually right. Different dmg multipliers have their own buckets they fall under. Some multipliers are additive with other multipliers. For some reason Vulnerable dmg and funnily dmg to Healthy enemies have their own bucket of damage and multiply everything else. I saw it on a website in one of Kripparians videos but can't recall the video or the website sorry It's all very confusing.

@@timpeters5808 No, I get that, but you need to look at the actual text of stuff. For example, dmg to chilled enemies is additive, but with the penitent greaves for sorcerers, there is an [x] in the text for chilled enemies, so these boots are actually not additive but multiplicative, even when it's chilled dmg. Yes, it is even more confusing than you think. It is the same with what I'm talking about. The aspect I'm talking about is a straight up multiplier to the overall damage, instead of additive to the over all damage that then gets multiplied by crit/overpower/vulnerable.

Storm swell is do more dmg to vulnerable enemies when you ahve a barrier while conceited is do more dmg when you have a barrier. So it seems like stormswell is better because it's vulnerability right? Nope, because on conceited, there is an [x] , it is strictly always ebtter than stormswell.

The world level always matches your level. If you do higher level nms the enemy level is what increases. You'll want to pay better attention the the levels of the mobs in this video.

I still haven't managed to get Aspect of Abundant Energy, but I'm looking forward to it! I'm currently the Arc Lash version with the Ice blades enchantment. I actually recently added on the skill points to get the crackling energy with ball lighting. And it's not quite 0 CDR like this but it's extremely close. It would likely be better if I took the aspect to make the balls float around me.

I got the aspect to drop on a staff and a dagger yesterday during helltide. Low rolls but I can feel the difference in cooldown. Im gambling wands with obols in hopes of getting a better roll

@@glowry444 I heard it's worth gambling focuses as that's cheaper. I picked up a 3 second roll on the flame shield immobilised buff. So I've now placed that on my boots, so I've finally got the armour gain on damage. Hopefully I'll get the aspect this weekend.

I use similar build but I can do higher tier dungeons I swapped out double frost nova on helm for damage reduction for 6 seconds aspect. Pants 3 damage reduction stats with the plus to total armor. I out survive everyone and still do massive damage.

i wonder if this can be done with charged bolt instead of arc lash. it seems like it should be able to. you just have to fix mana which isn't that hard at a 30 mana cost and spamming cooldowns like this. and it has a way better lucky hit chance than arc lash. i'm totally going to try it.

Ark lash still gives you massive boost to cooldown when you teleport and cast stuff. Cast speed is monumental here

@@mrwookie4466 for sure. there are advantages to arc lash, i agree. i just think charged bolts could be a pretty reasonable alternative that has some advantages of its own. better damage and higher lucky hit on charged bolt could be comparable to arc lash's advantages in other areas.

Check out lightning spear instead of ice armor. It gives you more barrier, and get the cooldown reduction of your last skill point that only affect shock skills. Also I prefer teleportation enchant instead of burning enchant, you will teleport non-stop and get way more barrier too. ✌️

I don't know where I went wrong when trying this build, but I can never seem to form Crackling Energy. I even tried it with Flicking Spark and using it for enchantment. I get like one or two CE per large mob group.

Yeah, I've added Abundant Energy Aspect earlier and Ceaseless Conduit paragon for better concistency - now it's even better :D For leveling purposes you can indeed ignore enchantment master, but later when you have plenty paragon points - I'd recommend moving it before crackling board, since rare nodes in enchantment master provide quite a lot of damage. For a bit safer setup I'd go with Aspect if Disobedience on the amulet. My current record is facetanking Butcher lvl104., granted NM dungeon didn't have bad negative modifiers like enemy +damage to barriers.

I did the arc lash build before you made the ice shard one, and i think the cool downs are bugged for xbox. Cuz even with all the gear giving me cool down reduction i NEVER got to do the ultimate as fast as you.... but i also cant seem to have infinite mana like you do on ice shards, so maybe diablo just hates me 😢

@RageGamingVideos I just revisited this build, with Teleport as enchantment instead of archlash. (Wearing 4 evade charge boots) Arclash's enchantment/cooldown stun of .7 seconds loss is not even felt. Still using it for the cooldown reduction, but man having 5 teleports with 3 second stuns.. is insane!! Not to mention the ground you can cover quickly. Cooldown on the boots charges is roughly 10 seconds? It is for sure not 17 as it states.

@RageGamingVideos forgot to mention. For archlash's actual enchantment, when you use a cooldown you literally have to be right ontop of the mob for it to do that .7 sec stun. Also, 5 instant stuns on boss, instant break/melt Glorious!!
