The additional 10% damage reduction for everyone in BG plus the Dispel (Spartusk) nerf made this build better.

@lol-x3f This build needs a lot of survivability to work because it's melee channeling. The Spartusk nerf makes you stay in the buffs most of the time and the additional 10% damage reduction lets you get in and out of battles without dying. That's 50% from the update, 30% from being a melee class, and 35% from the Calefaction Essence. Even if everyone got an additional damage reduction, this build still hurts because of the Firestorm combo that makes your damage critical all the time.

Thank you so much for the new video! You're the best, for Monks especially! I am still wondering why are you seemingly unaffected by the red circle CC (from wizards? - I don't know the name or essence)? Is it because of you higher life, rez...? That always slows me down & eventually kills me quick (I'm a little over 3k rez). Does anyone know the answer to this? I love your videos! Keep up the great work!

I don't know specifically what skill you are talking about, but if that skill is just to knock me back, then I won't be affected by it because of Shield of Zen using the Calefaction essence. It's anti-knockback.

Hey Bro! Big fan btw, I like your videos and your Monk. Let me give you a hint pls try it, you gonna like it! So, instead of using the 29% radius( I used to use that weapon as well for PVE) change it for Thrumming Ferocity for 15% dps(if you do 2M dps per sec you will boost 300-350k dps and that is huge!), then remove that helm, go for Inner Flame, 20k Dps per sec for 6 sec or Roving Sanctuary for 25% crit when solo and 40% crit chance when in party. That is huge boost to you and your allies, 15% dps and 40% crit chance. P.S. I have now idea why many people use Calefacation Weapon as it gives 35% reduce damage, instead you can use Intervening Law - that gives you Immune to Damage and also dash, in or out of a fight or save a ally! So, you activate your Sanctuary (flame or Crit Chance) dash with Zen and start killing, you will be immune to dps, immune to knock backs, with huge dps and crit chance. But you have to drop the healing for Sanctuary, the healing is not much anyway, 50-60k hp heal. On your half million HP that's nothing 😊

If you want to use Calefacation Weapon for 35% reduce damage, it is best to combine with the shoulders The Fist of Wind for 25% more reduce damage, and Path of the storm for 20% reduce damage, with the paragon you go for total of 92% reduced damage, then you can use Pensive Crown 😉

Hi! I tried this setup before using the build I posted. It has a few issues for me, especially since I don't have Bottled Hope to reduce the cd of buffs. - I need Pensive Crown so I can use Shield of Zen all the time. - Inner Flame is a very strong essence, but I need to use Respite's Sigh to make it work all the time. - Intervening Law was my favorite essence before the Calefaction change, but the anti-CC is gone when the shield is removed, while Calefaction's effect, even if it's only anti-knockback, lasts until the end of its duration and that 35% damage reduction is so good now because of the additional 10% damage reduction update. That's 50% in BG/RoE, 35% from Calefaction, and 30% from being a melee class. - Breath of Heaven is not only used mainly for healing. The movement speed burst is also helping a lot to chase enemies or escape battles because of the absence of dashes. It also heals me 83k HP.

Yes, the CD of the Zen is actually +1, you can activate 1 sec before it ran off. I have bottled hope, rank 4, 4* super expensive gem 😤 overall the build is amazing, sure you can play with different green set items cri/speed/shield..but overall it's stong, fast and fun to play. That is still Cyclone Strike. It has more movement speed, but this channeling essence deals more damage.

Yeah, unfortunately, with all the bg changes and class buffs/nerfs, the OP essences are those with high damage output or aoe, like HOTA Barb, Banana Tempest, and DoT Necro. Basically braindead build = OP.
