@xarrio thanks for the information about imbued skills, I did not know that. Also, I recommend you reconsider your keystone passive. The newly buffed passive, Close Quarter Combat, does a 30% multiplier in damage, including another 10% attack speed. It is being raved about for damage. You could drop attack speed from your gloves or free up the legendary 25% for a minor attack speed decrease in favor of other DPS legendaries. You could see up to a 40% DPS increase. All you'd need to do is shadowstep every 8 seconds to make it work.

If you're using the penitent greaves/frigide finesse combo which increase your speed after evading instead of reducing evade's cd, you can reproduce the effect with the "minus evade cd on daze" passive (although you'll need to put the daze legendary aspect somewhere else than on the boots). I think using cold imbuement instead of poison imbuement alongside penitent greaves/frigid finesse could work well for this build, especially since it has another source of poison anyway.

You forgot to mention that your boot's innate stat allows you to essentially reset your Evade through your attacks. Also, Dark Shroud has a base DR of 8% per orb at level 1 and if paired with the Enshrouding Aspect you have on your pants, that is 12% DR per orb per direct enemy attack and then further reduced by Armor and other DR sources. This is a great guide! Will try it once I get that particular boot because I want an active playstyle aside from just kiting.which means 5 orbs x 12% = 60% DR from direct damage attacks. If the enemy attack is not high enough to 1 shot you, then it is 60% less and which is further reduced by Armor.

@@Xarrio I understood Dark Shroud completely wrong and I just realized it. Per direct attack would only be reduced by 12% and not 60% since it only consumes PER orb. My bad, but still it would be reduced by other DRs further. Edited my first comment as to not confuse anyone.

@@mangosteen. I think it may actually be a bit more complicated than that even. I've read that the 4% per orb from enshrouding aspect gets counted as a separate buff. So you'd get the 40% Dr from shrouds, then another 20% dr from enshrouding, which is a bit less than 60% dr. I haven't tested it personally though.

Please tell me you're still gonna be working on RF, cause that's my plan for S1 but I don't have enough time to minmax builds. Stuff that stood out to me: The Picana, for AoE; Tempting Fate, to help counter the crit nerfs; The Barber might be good for bosses if the stacking damage applies to the primary target; The Clipshot might be good for more breathing room; and The Vile Apothecary looks like fun even if it isn't amazingly powerful. :)

Loving your build and tried it myself. I also love min-maxing and if I calculate your crit-chance right, you are heavily overcapped by ~40%, so I think you should swap some of your skillpoints into other attributes: 49% flat crit-chance from your armor (I guess the 8% from Dark Shrouds are already included in this) 6,8% vs injured 12% Concussive 15% Shadow Imbuement 9% Precision Imbuement 8% Trap Mastery 40% 8. and 9. Arrow of your Rapid Fire = 139,8 % I also didn't even mention the +8% from Shadowstep in my calculations! I'm not sure if enemys got some crit-chance resistances, if so, forget my advices ;) Just a feeling, but I would rather aim for 100% crit chance all in all with your last rapid fire arrows and go for other passives like the dark shroud movement trait for example. Keep up the nice videos, loving them!

Good analysis. I think the 40% from gear, 12% concussive and 9% from precision imbue is probably good enough then to get to 61% consistent crit. The others are only good below 35% health, and I generally save shadow step as an out. Drop the dark shrouds for movement speed, which could allow me to drop haste and adrenaline rush, which would free up 4 points to put somewhere else for more defensives. And drop trap mastery to free up another 2 points. Thanks!

Is it easier to maneuver Rogue using controller over KBM?

Not sure, my play time is all on controller with this build, so I can't really speak to KBM. However, I do find the movement very fluid on controller. Feels much more natural to me than kbm. There are def pros and cons to each setup. If you haven't tried controller, I'd recommend trying it out and rebinding evade to your left trigger (LT). That way all of your movement is done by your left hand, and all of your abilities are done by your right hand.

Hey Xarrio, thanks for all the RF content! I'm going RF for Season 1 and this build is on the top of my list to try. That said, what do you recommend for leveling and WT3? We won't have the repeating aspect until it drops randomly, and I hear RF is annoying to level with since you don't have much AoE. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I'd recommend using pen shot + RF for leveling until you get repeating. That way you have both aoe clear and single target dmg. When I leveled up, I did the Bastion of Faith dungeon to get trickshot ASAP by just running there around level 30? I think if I remember correctly.

Excellent guide mate! What ranged build do you recommend for leveling 1-50? Seen a few but all mentioning barrage, pen shot, rapid fire. Hard to know what will work best!

I'd do a combo of using both pen shot and rapid fire for leveling 1-50 until you get repeating aspect on your crossbow, then you could just use rapid fire.

Ya, poison is more for helping with the uptime of the armor stacks of disobedience and the debilitating toxins and alch advantage more so than the dmg. I've been liking using poison/cold though instead of shadow, but I've definitely tried out shadow/cold as well. Can work.

Yep. Once you get the ricochet (repeating) aspect on your 2h weapon, the rest of the stuff just adds more dmg/defense as you go.

Hey man, i really like the ranged playstyle on rogue and i think you come up with a very good variant for the Rapid Fire build, having said that i have a couple of questions: 1- What do you think about using Forceful Arrow(with knock back) and using a Bow as a primary for vunerable aplication and faster attack speed/less damage and more ranged or something play style? Also a little safer but probably less healing from siphoning strike(maybe the points could go another passive or something)(don't know '-' ) 2- Do you think that Poison Trap could be replaced for other skill, like any of the ultimates(for example the shadow clone for more single target damage or rain of arrow with the unique amulet for clear wave and a couple of spare points on the imbuement skills or even death trap to still get the bonus for trap mastery) , or another movement skill? P.S.: Some of this points are kinda bias keeping in mind that i play on mouse and keyboard and really like that "fast movement and fast hitting" archer playstyle, and i don't really like poison traps, but this is probably the best variant i've seen for the RF build so far

Best way is to experiment and try! I experimented all the way up to 100, which made the game much more fun for me b/c my goal was to find a good build instead of hit level 100. I will say though that bow is MUCH worse than crossbow in this build however. 1. Crossbow has 60% vuln implicit on it, which is a huge damage increase compared to the bow. 2. Bows have a lower damage per hit, which means your shots are significantly less damage. And while you are attacking faster, most of your time attacking is spent generating combo points, so shaving off a couple tenths of a second or whatever 1 time every 4 attacks and losing like 30% of your damage isn't worth it. Forceful arrow... you could try out. I personally just find it too slow, but as I get to higher tiers, maybe the safer playstyle could be beneficial in some cases. Poison trap could def be replaced in this build if you want to try out other stuff. The higher and higher I try to push I have begun to realize that there is no 1 build that is perfect for all situations. Just got to experiment and find out what works best in what situations.

Thank you so much for the build guide!! I'm already getting tired of TB and I can't wait to switch to RF. Although I'm still curious on a few things.. How does this build compare to the RF build without puncture? I feel like without puncture they'd have a hard time procing vulnerable and would have to rely on shadow imbuement or poison trap but at the same time they have more flexibility in their build without having to rely on basic skills aspects/resource cost. Also I see alot of RF builds using Penitent Greaves (ice boots) rather than "attacks reduce evade cooldown" boots. Do you think penitent greaves are worse for this build or are evade cooldown boots merely just for your playstyle? I do enjoy running Penitent with the "dmg reduction from cc" aspect but you did mention not using this aspect because most of our deaths are from range mobs.

I haven't personally tried the non-combo point variant of RF. But from watching others, it just seems like the main thing is that it doesn't hit hard enough. Not being able to take advantage of a 40% multiplier on condemnation, a 30% multiplier on expectant, not having combo points, which makes you do 2.5x more dmg... all of those multiplied makes a 3 combo point rapid fire do 4.5x more damage than a non-combo point shot. Then, you add in imbuement dmg/crit on top of that, which for non-combo point RF you have a very low uptime on imbuement compared to combo point variant which you almost always have imbuement up. There is just no way to make up for that loss in damage from what I can tell. Penitent is nice, but I just couldn't find room in it for all of the other aspects that I feel are needed + the evade reduce cd just fits better with my playstyle of being on the move. You could do penitent, but then you'd have to give up some other aspect.

I’ve been running a no combo build and doing tier 50s pretty consistently. My advice would be to follow the build regarding knock down skills and rapid fire damage. Also drop dash and shadow step for concealment and poison trap. It’ll be a slower baiting and kiting kind of play style but effective none the less.

Main thing is to get the ricochet aspect and then just keep adding aspects as you get them. The rest just make you safer/do more dmg, but you aren't dependent on them for the build to work. I'd just get 5 points into RF asap and try to get some +RF gloves as well.

How do you feel about rapid fire aspect on ring, and getting edgemaster in the crossbow instead? I feel like that when pushing high tier nm, bouncing to a single one more enemie is not as important as 20% extra damage, and you can still get it on your ring for a 45% chance

Good question. This is one that I've tested a bit with the same idea. The thing is that you get a lot more than just spread dmg from repeating aspect. More ricochets means more hits, which means more procs of things like siphoning strikes, umbrous and manglers/misery. All things that help us survive.

I'm wondering how you're crits are so high. I'm lvl, 89 and the only real difference in the build is that I run shadow clone. My crits at the most are hitting 200k, atleast from what I'm noticing. Of course it's more than that from SC. But your crits seem much higher, I'm wondering if it's just a visual trade just because you use combo points instead of SC. I still melt things like butter though so I guess it doesn't matter. Great build. Thanks.

Im lvl 75 and I get 450k crits with rapid fire I took all the plus dmg in the marksmanship tree and imbued tree and skipped everything else took 3 glyps increase marksman dmg increase imbued dmg and increase magic nodes thats next to plus core skill dmg there on lvl 12 atm trying to get them to 15 for the radius increase . If you use frost caltrops you get huge dmg boost when there frozen in it plus the 30% crit dmg after you evade so you do that before you fire if possible but you need more changes on you boots for that to be useful. Thats with 8700AP and a 810 base crossbow. You need to spread your stats out fairly evenly to like if you have tons of plus dmg but you don't have much Dex you would be better adding abit of dex to increase your base dmg for the plus percentages and have multiple different plus percentages as if you stack one it has diminishing returns the more you have. I can clear NM dungons 15 lvls higher just because of the dmg bosses die in two hits instantly.

Also, exploit only puts vuln on the enemies for 3 seconds and then can't be reapplied for 20 seconds. So puncture w/ vuln still is helpful after those first 3 seconds if the fight is a bit longer.

in your Paragon board, you use the control glyph, which does dmg to slow/chill/stun/frozen. but you dont usepenitent greaves or cold imbue. does the knockdown from mangler's daze count as a stun?

Hey, what do you think about switching the edgemaster aspect onto amulet/xbow for more multiplicative damage and moving the rapid-fire ricochet aspect to another slot other than xbow?

I've tried switching repeating and edgemaster (repeating on gloves and edge on bow). It is a trade off. You get more single target dmg, but less spread dmg. Overall I felt the build felt worse. You also get less hits, which means less chance to proc your dark shroud, and less siphoning strikes. You could maybe move umbrous aspect off your ammy and put it on legs, put edgemaster on xbow, put richochet on ammy and then put some other offensive aspect on your gloves. But then you lose a defensive slot and make your generation of dark shrouds much worse. But you would gain a decent amount of dmg.

Suppressors by themselves aren't that big of a deal because I can chain cc them with daze and burst them down. But when they are in a pack with the defensive shielding mobs + walls of other mobs, it can def get tricky.

If any build can, I would bet it is the barrage rogue. Barrage is awesome to facetank stuff. But I'm lvl 98 and certainly can't do T100. But supressor is a joke if he is not surrounded by CC hazards

@@marcosyy87 I haven’t seen any barrage achieved T100. I have seen a TB done that, and myself at 92 achieved T70 without any issue with TB, and will try T100 soon. Im just a casual dad gamer so it will take times, still have hopes for melee rogues :)

With this build, you really want to take at least 2 imbuements because we are taking a LOT of increase dmg/crit with imbued skills. So you want to be shooting with an imbuement at least 80% of the time. Also, attack power on your character doesn't actually mean much. It doesn't take into account a lot of the multipliers/% increase stuff. Character with lower attack powers often times end up being stronger. Weird I know.

There isn't one. Just that I found a 820 crossbow and I had 2 stats to reroll and kept that one. I'd much rather have crit w/ imbue on it or core skill dmg. But it is what it is.

This build is cool asf, have you tried or thought about investing heavy into shadow and poison imbu, i.e. +4 on helm for both and + 3 on neck? Ive tried it with flurry but without combo points. It clears like a champ but hits bosses like a wet noodle. I think switching too RF with combo points might fix the bossing issue. Thoughts?

Yep. I've tried pumpin the imbues with all of that stuff and using the increase potency aspect. At the end of the day, didn't feel worth it for all of the investment. Most of the dmg comes from just boosting the imbue skill (RF) itself, not the imbuements I found.

I ran similar build and while ML ve the damage i'm just not sure how yo get tankier. Its all fun until i get swarm snd get melted in 2s before you cam combo and rapid fire. Or randomlu 1 shot by something =/

Like I'm like 68 and I can do damage to melt like lvl 88 mobs but even doing like t21 dungeon w ith lvl 75 mobs the damage I take can be so insanely scuffed. I guess it doesn't help there no real clear way to get better defense as your gear is so rng its like you suffer until you get that magical piece of gear.

Lots of attack speed (accelerating aspect) and atk speed on gloves helps the atk speed on RF. But also evading after the shot makes me not have to stand there firing all the bullets. Also, if you don't have combo points and/or cunning strategem, you will be shooting less bullets, which may make it seem like each bullet is firing slower. Less bullets / sec.

Thanks for the tip. You are probably right based on how people watch the vids looking at the analytics. I'm just doing this for fun however and a way to help out other range rogues, and more of a way just to log my personal nightmare push journey. If people want to watch, cool, if not, that is cool too. Editing videos/trying to pick out key moments, etc. takes a long time and I'd rather be doing other things. =) Also, these high NM runs by nature of having to go slow or die are going to be long unless I cut out a lot of stuff (hence editing).
