You know I was excited when Mephisto's head was coming out the gunk because I thought it would be similar to his classic design but nah. Black gunk Jesus it is. Wonder when the rest of the prime evils will make an appearance since.. you know.. the whatever soulstone from D3: Reaper of Souls holding all the prime evils was destroyed freeing them all.

Like D4 and its xpac was all just exposition for the next actual chapter in the fight against the prime evils. I skipped it entirely just because I wanted to wait until reviews were out before buying and when I saw the plot synopsis I lost all interest.

This is the most anticlimactic part of the expansion and made me regret having it pre-ordered. A diablo game without diablo was tolerable because of mephisto. then, when they teased us with mephisto's return, we got fighting "pets".

I do wonder why they didn´t get Paul Eiding back to reprise his role as Mephisto. The guy did a great job in voicing Mephisto i Diablo 2. Perhaps it was due to scheduling conflicts or translated into human language... the studio was too cheap to hire him. Also i know he inhabited a human host in Diablo 2. However from what those games established, once the spirit of one of the three prime evils takes you over, sooner or later your body will morph into the TRUE form of the prime evil. Meaning Mephisto wouldn´t have looked like he did in Diablo 4, he would have looked like he did in Diablo 2. But then again the designers of Diablo 2 and most of the people that made from the original Blizzard have long since abandoned the company. That wouldn´t be a problem if those who replaced them where of equal talent. I think this game shows all too clearly the talent of those who came after.

Because Mephisto was still reforming. There wouldn't have been a fight of Lilith had gotten her way, she would have , presumably, asborbed his power and become too strong to handle. Though that does bring up the plot hole of: if its that easy to steal a Greater Evil's power, why is Lilith seemingly the first to even try? Sounds like it would be easy for any one of them to just wait for the others to get killed and then attack their realm when they are still reforming...

Might be a controversial opinion, but imagine if this was a *free update* and THEN you had to wait to buy the DLC/Expansion that actually covers what happens after this cliffhanger. Making them blueballing us with Mephisto's true form a bit more bearable. Not only would that have been healthier for the game, but it would have honestly just been a better long-term business strategy as people would be WAY more forgiving for the faults of this DLC (as it would be a free update), they would be able to look at what people liked/disliked and fixed it for the DLC proper and people would generally be more willing to shelve out money to see the conclusion after a sizeable chunk of free content. Instead we have a playerbase that just burned a bunch of money just to get even more of what they alredy had in the base game: *awesome concepts with mediocre execution* , except now coupled with a feeling of being taken advantage of. PS: I am willing to bet that all the problems with this DLC come from the fact that it was most likely chopped up into pieces in order to repackage it and sell it to us as separate expansions.

well people would like to have a game that they would like to enjoy playing and a lot of these people who aren't enjoying it already spent $120 on the thing they have a right to criticize it and I'm sure the game is enjoyable but a lot of people are finding the games gameplay to be overly simplistic and the story is overly convoluted and anticlimactic lacking climatic bosses For a game called Diablo they're sure a lack of Diablo doesn't even have either of his two brothers Yet and the expansion pack actually had the balls to Base itself around the Lord of hatred and then the final boss is just some lame puppy That is incredibly anti climactic and kind of false advertising it would be like if in Diablo two's Lord of destruction DLC if the game ended after you fought Lister the tormentor

In that sense, it does not belong solely to Blizzard anymore, and Blizzard can't just do whatever it wants with it.
