The interviews of Marko and Rainer translanted to English 0:10 Marko: ”If you’re watching a metal concert, why would it not hit you. And of course your own playing can hit someone” Rainer: ”To me summer brings memories from the family trips to southern Finland when I was a little boy. There we listened to schlager. Propably due to that I like some schlager music, and it doesn’t go together with metal. But it has been made to work together, but at first glance they don’t go together. But they both are played in minor key” M: ”I’d say I listen to metal during summers and also winters. It works” R: ”And these summer festivals are different for the band as opposed to club shows. There’s so much people at the front and it’s hard to get to the people in the back, as opposed to clubs where you can get them, and it’s so crammed so you don’t see the back row. And from a big stage you can even see when someone is yawning” M: ”Yeah you’re just waiting for to people holding their fists in the air, at least to the point where the mixing desk is” R: ”Well that’s the least we demand from the audience!” 13:39 R: ”When it comes to the lyrics, if they’re revolving around dark themes, usually the best lyrics comes from bad feelings. But if I’m feeling good, they’d become major key oriented, but Marko doesn’t compose in major key” M: ”Yeah there will not be any” R: ”And I wouldn’t want to hear something like that” M: ”Yeah when it comes to composing the minor key is the thing” R: ”And I wouldn’t call this as ”romanticizing melancholy”, I think of this as a therapeutic thing where you can pour all the bad feelings out of yourself. And there’s alot of that 22:36 M: ”We have played this kind music since the times when it was not so trendy” R: ”And even before that!” M: ”And even before it was still trendy again” R: ”We been through one generation” M: ”We’ve always had energy to play, but it surely affects on how many people will show up to our shows and so on” R: ”I think this metal boom has been over saturated at this point, when even the prime minister is making the devil horns, to me it’s just distasteful” M: ”And it’s hard to think it as being done altruisticly” R: ”Yeah and I’m saying that this would have never happened during when Urho Kekkonen was the president. There would have been so big of a shit storm that the government would have been changed to another one” 30:50 R: ”Mimic 47 had it’s start from Marko. He had the basis of the song, but the chorus melody took it even further” M: ”Yeah the guitar riff was so heavy, little bit like Sepultura’s Inner Self. Originally it was in a much slower tempo, but we paced it up a bit because eventually it didn’t work that slow R: ”Yeah and the lyrics came from Mika Myllylä’s Tervaneva testament” (Myllylä was a cross-country skier. He wrote the testament after the Lahti doping incident in 2001)
