Edit 2: Don't bother reading the bottom anymore! I found out the main reason as to why the midfake free spin wasn't working. In short, the crosshead screw they used for the performance tip was screwed on too tight, just loosen it by a tiny bit n the free spin should work now (adjust it however u c fit). Molding is fine, they're as close as they can be to the original minus the details, it's just that the crosshead screw might just b tiny bit longer than the triangle screw that TT use. Now my free spin is working w/o any additional stuff. Apologies for the long read 😅 Edit 3: (Should b my last edit. Before reading, just know that the solution above still works n that the following r just my observations, so only read this edit if u'r curious as to y exactly the midfake isn't free spinning). Finally got my hands on some real diablo nemesis (at least the one from Sonokong) and compared n switched the midfake n original parts around. The problem lies mainly with the molding of the metal cores, but there r some other small problem besides just the free spin. For the performance tip, the tip component of the midfake is slightly shorter than the original, so the midfakes can only switch between S n XF. For the metal core, the molding of the large circle under it is actually a millimeter or less thicker than the original, so this results in a smaller gap between the metal core n performance tip for the metal ring to free spin. There's also some molding discrepancy on the outer metal rings between the two (the part that control the tip going up n down), but it doesnt rlly impact the free spin much. ===================== Hmm, ik I'm like 11months late into this since I recently just started getting back into beyblade after a decade n hearing about midfakes for the first time, but this did got me curious as to what makes the free spin in ultimate balance mode. I finally got my hands on the midfake n am loving it, but I did wish I knew someone who does have the original just so I can test whether the metal ring or the plastic tip is the reason why it's too tight for the ring to free spin. Loosening the bolt did help with the free spin, but then I wonder why is that the case n what's the difference in design. I might just do some testing on my end like adding a piece of paper between the metal core n plastic tip or maybe sanding down the "sharp edge" u were talking about with the plastic tip; just so that the outer metal ring could have more wiggle room to free spin even when the facebolt is tightened. Who knows, maybe the reason why the midfake metal core being heavier than the original is bc the extra thickness the metal core had, not just bc the material is different. Apologies for this long read 😅 Edit: I inserted some piece of paper from my Amazon package, poked/cut a hole in the middle, n stuck it in between the metal core and the tip n now my midfake can free spin like the original w/o loosening the bolt

Even though the mode changing out of the box is stuck most of the time I just put some baby oil on the little prongs that make the mode change and the little bumps that also make the mode change and that makes the mode change, change super easy

I can’t really say, it’s seems to be a case by case thing so each Bey will probably have its own problems. But from what I’ve seen so far if you can pick them up for cheap 10-15 then definitely worth it!

Another thing I noticed between the midfake and the legit one is that the metal tabs and holes to connect the metal on the fusion wheel of the midfake is actually wider than the legit one. After being tricked into purchasing a midfake diablo and comparing it to the one I already had this was a very noticeable difference. Plus your right the detail on the midfakes look terrible.

I think it depends on how much you use them i have the legends rerelease of storm pegasus and leone and leones mostly dulled out but the pegasus is still fairly shiny since ive barely used it and its also slightly newer

I might have to get a midfake Diablo Nemesis because the Takara Tomy version I have has a wiggly upper ring. Even when I run it inverted, the mode change doesn’t happen to the tip because the wheel is so loose.

I do want to ask, can you look at the Diablo Nemesis I have? I can try to provide more pics if you want me to. I'm a bit worried about it because the chrome hasn't aged in 10 years, which normally I think Takara is known for whenever they apply that to a bey. But at the same time, the shakiness and wobbliness of the upper part of the fusion wheel makes me concerned. Because the bey is off balance compared to what I've seen in videos. The only answer I can think of is maybe it's a defected product, but at the same time I don't know if it's an official Takara Bey, Midfake Bey, or Rapidy Bey. The energy ring is cracked because I did at least 7 battles with free wheel mode and the energy ring kept taking every hit, and the facebolt frayed at the bottom a little because I got a bit forceful trying to put the bey together while tired. Thanks! & yeah midfakes can be a god send depending on viewpoint. If you can get your hands on them for cheap it’s definitely worth it, but I’d personally only recommend them for causal use. They can have defects & some gimmicks probably won’t work as intended but other than that, definitely a great alternative compared to something like rapidity.

Midfake is a western concept. They are regarded as straight up fakes or counterfeits in Japan. Regardless of the quality, these beys are 100% fake.
