The ceratopsian dinosaurs are probably my favorite group aside from the Therizinosaurs. Though they have a very ‘copy-my-homework-but-change-it-up-a-little-to-not-make-it-obvious’ energy, they also have some of most interesting skulls of any group. As I continue on my path across the ceratopsian family tree, I figured why not move onto one of the most devilishly stylish of them - good ol Diabloceratops.

I was thinking the opposite, kinda. While I appreciate the artwork, I'm put off by the lurid imaginary colour schemes. They seem to get more and more exotic. I get that there may have been more chromatic skin colourisation than formally assumed, but based on large extant reptiles, pigmentation is a lot more subdued. And I don't know of any spiral patterning on large fauna. Nor do I see any reason that the shield's fenestration would have been outlined on the skin, or had large "eyes".
@magnagermania9311
@magnagermania9311 Жыл бұрын
@@pencilpauli9442 kinda agree. I do like the artistic aspects of it, but a lot of paleoart is starting to look like custom skins in some dinosaur video game, not like actual animals, the whole point of the dinosaur revolution was to represent them more as the animals that they were, and not hulking, spickey, slow beasts, though now the designs are getting extravagant to a point where its hard to take them serious at times, of course we dont know what they actually looked like but this wave of speculations is just kinda reaching.

Can we talk about my theory that the dinosaurs didn't die from an asteroid or any geologic process? I did some googling and it turns out Citrus plants didn't evolve until AFTER the dinosaurs, thus they all died from scurvy.

Question: Are there omnivorous dinosaur? Theropod are carnivore while sauropod,ceratopsian,hadrosaurian,& ankylosaurian are herbivore
@kade-qt1zu
@kade-qt1zu Жыл бұрын
Not all theropods were carnivores. Many theropods, like Therizinosaurus, were herbivores that feasted on plants. There were some omnivorous dinosaurs, such as the ornithomimid Deinocheirus and the Noasaurid Elaphrosaurus, both of which are indeed theropods.
@danktorvosaurus
@danktorvosaurus Жыл бұрын
Every animal engages in a sort of omnivory, but some more than others. Crab remains were found in either a Hardosaur itself or a coprolite, I forgot. Edge himself uploaded a few videos on “Herbivores” eating meat, “Carnivores” eating plants, and whether or not Ceratopsians were omnivores.

Take: We’d have less “awesomebros” out there if we didn’t give dinosaurs such edgy names like Devil Horned Face, Monster Murderer, Gore King, Styx Demon, etc…
@Andrey.Ivanov
@Andrey.Ivanov Жыл бұрын
Alternative take: The names are fine (as long as they are not given to the most fragmentary piece of vertebra ever discovered). It's mostly the popular dinosaur media that is to blame. Spinosaurus doesn't have an edgy name but it's been a favourite of awesombros since Jurassic Park 3. If movies reduced the "monstrification" of dinosaurs a little it will help a lot in preventing the next generations from becoming awesomebros. Btw it seems to me that there are far less awesomebros online nowadays (atleast on KZbin) compared to 5-6 years ago.

@SarastistheSerpent
@SarastistheSerpent Жыл бұрын
@@betohatch8203 I don’t think he’s saying that the names are bad, just that the awesomebros are bad. Tbh I agree with him on that. Awesomebros can be quite aggressive and annoying, and are also partly responsible for spreading misinformation about dinosaurs. These are the people who scream about how feathers on dinosaurs are lame and how media should not depict any dinosaurs as feathery because it doesn’t look “badass”. Recently awesomebros were complaining about prehistoric planet because it portrayed Trex as taking care of its young (like birds) instead of acting like Godzilla and just ripping apart anything in its path.
