Always interesting, I look at a very unique tractor in my neck of the woods.

Canada and US have several 500 and 800 series Belarus tractors. Seen at least ten from various videos and pictures posted. Ofc it's rare to even see one just rotting in the back yard.

Good video as usual. I will have to do the same with my mtz 52. When I dropped the sump I found the crankshaft thrust washers in the oil pan so I have my work cut out for me

Make sure the main bearing cap on the final journal has not worn in. The only way to replace the thrust washers is to split the tractor. Also they come in various sizes according to what your main bearings are grounded into.

@ thank for the info. I have the tractor split and engine out. I need to put in all new pistons and liners as the engine took in water - exhaust rotted. Do you know if there are OEM piston & liner engine rebuild kits? All I can see online are not genuine - seems risky using these for such a critical thing. I can’t see any online

@@cliffordngrace Kostroma repair kits are very reliable and most in my region use it. But they are harder to get. THM is china, no experience, never used them. Czech piston and sleeve kit is probably the best one. OEM ones are thanks to the sanctions impossible to get. Ukraine aftermarket ones very questionable. I would measure the kits when you can order them from a local dealer. Have heard some swanky stories with sleeves being oversize or pistons not being a fit. NOS ones are another thing of its own. Where you located at when it's not a secret?

@ thanks for all the info Steve. I am in Ireland - Belarus tractors are rare here - most were scrapped or exported years ago. I have gotten most of my info from your channel and by translating some other Russian videos. I have not come across Kostroma kits before but will check them out. My plan was to go to Belarus and do the Belarus factory tour but then covid/Ukraine war stopped those plans. My mtz 52 is in rough shape but once I get the engine running I will work on all the remaining stuff. Are mtz-52 parts easily available in tractor part stores in Estonia?
@SuperMAZ0073 күн бұрын
@@cliffordngrace Depends what you need? MTZ 52 is a antic tractor on wheels by todays terms. They are disappearing fast here as well. There are a lot of counterfeit parts as well that are hard to extinguish from the real deal. Now these tractors I have are starting to go extinct for many reasons. Might cover them on a separate video on the future :)

That was a dirty job but worth doing!

Not even the dirtiest engine i have worked with. Just installing the oil pan is more a two persons job.

As far as I know the d240 block with a d50 head is called d60.

Export Belarus tractors did have the same engines for all the base models. There where probably also engines that could have been a special order. Ofc my tractor has the block from a later rebuild. Apparently the original block was redeemed unusable for what ever reasons. If you have a source where did you find the information feel free to share.
