having watched this video I really do not understand why the 7900 series is described as just a 'rescue' watch and not as a 'master of G' since it has the same functions and looks as the Gulfman which is a 'master of G'

There is an extra-extra feature with the first diagnostic screen you demo'd, regarding the list of radio time sources! I discovered that, after entering that screen, after using the "start/stop" button to select your radio transmitter of interest, if you then press the "split/reset" button, the watch will attempt to acquire the time signal from THAT station. If it's successful, after a few minutes the watch will beep and the "J"/"U"/etc. will have the letters "OK" as an added suffix (e.g. JOK, UOK, etc.). If unsuccessful, or if you press "start/stop" again while the watch is listening for the time signal, it will instead show "NG" (like JNG, UNG, GNG, etc.). I interpret that as shorthand for "no-good". While the watch is listening for the time signals, you get a presentation identical to the manual radio reception feature as documented in the manual, with the letters "RC" in the upper right, the current time in the bottom with signal strength adjacent (L1,L2,L3), and a blinking "time received" icon at the upper left corner. -It appears, though, that after successful reception, the watch is not adjusted to match the transmitted signal (please check me on that).- [edit 210604: I deliberately mis-set my watch and tried this again, the watch *did* set the time.] -Nevertheless,- This is a convenient way to discover which time transmitters are providing strong enough signals for your watch to lock to, after you've moved to a new part of the world. So if the default programmed time source for your set home timezone isn't providing you with good signals, but you discover a nearby source (e.g. L-England, vs. G-Germany in Europe) that does, you -could consider temporarily changing your home-timezone to that place, executing a manual sync, then changing back, or using the WT display as your primary to observe local time.- can use this extra feature of the diagnostic mode to sync up to a different transmitter.

I am interested in this model because of the functions, but mostly the 7900 for the solar function as well. I just know I will get annoyed at the date display. For me as a dutch person it is just not logical to have the month before the day. As far as I can tell it’s not possible to change this date setting. Anyone know if it’s possible? Or maybe if there is a very similar (newer) model with a module in it with which it actually is possible to switch the day and month?

this type of technology would be too advanced, I saw in another video that a newly released 5600 (or 5610? don't remember) has this ability with the new updated module where it can change the order of day-month / month-day.

Good day. Please advice. How to turn off the TLT function. Thank you very much for your answer.

To stop the TLT test mode I pressed the Mode button. To stop the automatic backlight function I pressed and held the light button for a few seconds.
