Vague summary: 15:00 As dialectical materialism undermines the idea of permanent Capitalism that can never be changed ("end of history"), Buddhism undermines the idea of a permanent Self ("Anatta", which causes most of our suffering). 30:00 "Dependent Origination" shows that every object is created and affected by a million different processes in the universe, which contradicts Capitalism's claim that commodities are created solely by certain entrepreneurs. Instead, society is produced and maintained by cooperation of every human. 43:00 Capitalism intensifies Buddha's "three poisons" - Greed through infinite growth and consumption, Hatred through imperialism and Ignorance through false consciousness 45:00 Buddhism can offer dialectical analysis of individuals' psyche (which Marxism lacks), and can reduce the amount of Ego which is sadly prevalent in Marxist spaces. While Marxism aims to tackle societal suffering in a way that Buddhism does not.
