I like to start wheel cleaning at 6 o'clock and work clockwise because it's easy to remember. I do this so that the product doesn't get washed off the bottom spokes as the water runs down from cleaning the top spokes.

Your story about the "citrus wash" soap would be excellent watching for high school or even college 101 level business class. People often think business is "easy", but there is massive behind the scenes work that goes into it, and you explained it well.

Having just used Matt’s new (no label) purple Decon soap, I can attest it does a great job pulling contaminants off the paint. It also worked well at cleaning the tires, I would say better than some of the dedicated tire & rubber cleaners I have.

Hey Matt! Excited for this series... But for exhaust set-up... Consider leaving the stock x-pipe section and simply doing the "ACM" mod, or doing cut-outs pre-muffler. This is all I did to my car, (Cutouts).. It's a good mix of extra noise, but zero rasp, and very minimal drone from 1800-2300 RPM. Just throwing some ideas your way! Happy motoring!

It took me about 2 years to 'dial in' my Certified PreOwned 2015 M5. I'm amazed how some people can neglect a brand new car. My car was totally trashed to the point where i almost backed out of the deal. Needless to say I got a couple grand off the agreed price because the dealer misrepresented the cars condition.

Isn't that Kranzle more of a commercial/Industrial type of unit like what you see at coin op car washes? I know on those the pump kicks on when you put quarters in, until the timer runs out.

Would you consider going back to coating the wheels with a spray on spray off solution after washing such as Gyeon Wetcoat or Reload or will you continue to coat your wheels with ceramics? I'm finding Gyeon Wetcoat to be a nice quick solution.

I will not. I found spray silica products to bead water like crazy, but that's about all they do. I will be coating them like I traditionally would.

If you want to try a wheel cleaner with some iron remover and non caustic smell, try the polish angel mint. It’s very pricey, but you don’t need to use much as it’s a gel consistency that clings

Matt, have you ever tried Griots Paint Prep for stripping wax? I've been using this product and it works great for stripping waxes. I've only used it undiluted, but I am going to try diluting it with the car shampoo the next time I detail my car. Looking forward to this series!

Many years ago I used it, but I found it do it on it's own. The combination of alkaline soap, iron remover, clay/autoscrub, and then prep wipe down is what does it.

In my decon-process I also use a tar-remover, isn't that something you'd use? Removing all tar with just clay can both be time consuming, and marring the paint even more. Or don't you get any tar over there in Florida?

It's not necessary to use up resin. Replacement filers are $120, so I only use it to rinse.
