Dialing in my project CHECKMATE it's a ripper now!!!

It has been a long process but the checkmate finally made it to the island, right now the fastest it will go is 63.2 mph with a 24p 3 blade furry at 5650 RPMS. listen closely and you will hear the rev limiter beep a few times.

Great vid . for issues like that Donzi with water coming in the transom they make a scupper cup . looks like a plastic cup with a ping pong ball in it that will stop ALL water from coming in . bolts in over the holes on the outside . the cup has a slot to let water drain . almost sank my brand new 197 sea fox back in 03 when the bilge got jammed , only 30 hrs on her . the water was an inch from the top of the batteries 25 miles out lol . i made it back and found the scupper cups the next day . she stayed bone dry until i sold her in 18' .

Slow take off because of that high geared prop - it's set up for top speed - same thing I did with my boat... I like it!

Was Your boat overheating? You have to check the piss or make sure that the engine is pissing out of the side guarantee you have seawater cooling the engine.

You try a clever prop yet. I know it takes a different lower unit but it could get some exhaust cavitation and give you more rpm on takeoff. Clever props are so cool I have not had one yet but I’m wanting one for my ranger 20’ black max 1994 wish it would run 70 but get 56 mph Thinking boat is very heavy. The ranger is for sale bc I want a 25’ Liberator.

Lol yeah.. You think? Trim is to put it on the trailer not for adjusting how it's riding...... I'm sure the man knows how to trim a boat... I hate when people comment to act like they know something talking to someone that knows what they are doing... The man knows to lower the trim to get on plane and then trim up to get the boat on pad and get the ride dialed... In really rough water trimming up IS NOT what to do as in that rough of water it would 100% cause him to catch air... Get on plane and trim the nose slightly above level, let's you run pretty quick BUT keeps the hull in the water....

I have an old 1993 150 Black max merc on a 18 ft Astro bass boat and it will do 72 mph on smooth water and acceleration off the rip that will snap your head back you cant beat these old two strokes when their tuned right

@@boatvibes i defiantly do that im rebuilding my transom right now but should have it back on the water in about two weeks and yes i agree it is very questionable im going off the speedo on the boat which is stock so its honestly probably off and the lake i go to i don't get any reception so i can't use the speedo app but I'm going to install a new speedo as well so we will see i will send you video as soon as i get back on the water.

If you have a 150 you should have no prob running 70 with no load. My Ranger 19’ has a 200 with the high five and top speed is 63 mph. If I change prop to a three blade I am betting I could hit 70. But I like the hi five because when I’m loaded down heavy I can still run 60’s

Run 2 cans of Seafoam through it. Also put a water separator on it. Actually I think that has a water separator on the motor. My 1994 EFI does I’m pretty sure. Man that thing should be pushing 80 mph

If your batteries are not brand new chance them. I've literally bought brand new batteries and had problems. It's definitely an electrical issue

@@boatvibes wow i would of thought a 250 on that size boat would do about 80 mph have you thought about putting some Chris Carson composite racing reed valves and stuffer kit in the intake it makes a big difference atleast it did in my old 150 merc ?
