Well said. I have been in a bad marriage for 20 yrs to a man who drinks, smokes pot, and hates the bible and Jesus. It wasn't this way in the beginning of our marriage although both of us were not born again when we married. I have learned to lean on Jesus so hard in my struggles and it has been good for my faith. If I'd had a happy marriage I may never sought God like I did. Now I pray for my husband instead of cursing him.

Came from the lgbt, and I struggle with depression and anxiety and paranoid fits of psychosis. But even when i thought I was still unsaved because i wasn't baptized right, or i wasn't baptized in a full understanding of God. I worshiped him, and I prayed to him and as soon as I could I got baptized. Now i still struggle with mental illness, it may be something I struggle with my whole life. But I know that i would rather be here in this weak and vulnerable state before God, than to go back to how i was before. because even if I have times where I am paranoid and I am anxious and I feel the weight of the world on my head and my depression is at a place where i can hardly function. That I am somehow more blessed than I ever was before. Even at times when I doubt myself, and whether or not i am truly saved. I still worship and love God.

I encourage you to read Psalm 94:19; Psalm 23:1-6; Phillipians 4:4-6, Isaiah 40:31, Isaiah 41:10; Joshua 1:9, Luke 12:24-34 Just to name a few, I hope you'll find comfort in these, continue to pray to the Father and stay strong. Hold onto the salvation you have in Jesus (if you're unsure of your salvation read Romans 10:9 also make sure you repent for your sins, Ask the Father for forgiveness) . I had a similar experience with panic attack and depression in 2004 . My panic attack was so severe that I could only sleep couple hours a day and having a nightmare about maggots eating my body . My depression was more like fear of death , like death anxiety. Somehow , I started to believe that I will die within five years . I was suffering enormously but I didn’t tell anyone including my husband cause somehow if I tell someone , the secret of my dying days will be exposed and will come true . One year later , I was reading Romans 8:9~11 and suddenly I knew if the Spirit of God is in you , you are not in the fresh but in the spirit. Since the Spirit of God in my spirit as union with Christ , even though I die , I will be with my Lord Jesus Christ forever. That moment, my fear of death disappeared and knew I was deceived from the devil’s lie all along . It’s been 17 years since I was delivered from the power of darkness . There is nothing will help you except the Word of God .

I think that's something many struggle with because of our sinful past, but if you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and he was raised from death by God the holy spirit then you are saved, it's a battle that goes on in our mind but just read 2 Corinthians 10; 3_7, and do some work on what that exactly means because that's where I am at and God led me to this, if jesus has set you free then you are free indeed so he has broken all chains, God bless you sister bell.

No wonder Paul is able to exhort the saints to love one another when they are members one of another! (Rom. 12; 1 Cor. 12; Eph. 4). 12. Inhabitation-The wonderful fact that the Body of Christ and each member of it individually is inhabited, indwelt, by the Holy Spirit Himself, and not only so, but that the Church is being "built together" as a great temple of God so that in the future God’s actual eternal dwelling place will be this wonderful, mysterious company built into a building called "a holy habitation of God in the Spirit." This mystery is a great and marvelous one-the fact that we are saved, are partakers now of the life of the Lord in glory, that the Holy Spirit indwells us. 13. Divine Exhibition-That is, that through the Church in the ages to come is to be made known that which God counts His "riches," even His Grace (Eph. 2:7; 3:10). Paul in his wonderful revelation declares that God hath reconciled the world to Himself; that God was in Christ (at the Cross) reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Cor. 5:19). Men do not know this, but they conceive that something stands between them and God before God will accept or forgive them. If you tell a man that God is demanding no good works of him whatsoever, no religious observances or church ordinances, that God is not asking him to undertake any duties at all, but that God invites him to believe a glad message that his sins have already been dealt with at the Cross, and that God expects him to believe this good news and be exceedingly happy about it. If you tell an unsaved man such a story at this, he is astonished and overwhelmed-yet this is the Gospel!

I have been a born again believer for almost 3 years now. I have faced some dark times and many trials. I have been through periods of insanely dark pits and fear and worry and uncertainty. Times of not knowing which way is up or which way is done. My emotions and feelings have failed me greatly. Many times never feeling Gods love or His presence. I lost my dad to cancer last year in August at age 49. My grandma now has cancer of the lymph nodes. My girlfriend and I broke up twice and that’s a whole other story in itself. I know my trials can’t compare to other believers trials but I know that any trial can not be compared to the glory that is to be revealed to us (Romans 8:1). There is so much I don’t understand and sought so long for an answer on why certain things happened. Some I don’t know. What I do know is that God never ever failed me. No not once. So much I don’t see and so much I don’t get, but I know that Hod is faithful. I stand here today testifying that Christ Jesus is faithful and good in the midst of this. My heart was discontent and bitter and angry and doubtful through it all. But the Lord kept me. Know this that the Lord Jesus will never fail you.

Stay with Jesus young one, as you get older God will show you almost everything, ask him for his wisdom and understanding, remember your understanding is fighting with God you have to slowly let your understanding go and God will fill you with his wisdom and understanding. God bless you, sir. But I feel obligated to tell you that we as humans don’t have the authority to bind or lose any type of spirit. If you look at those verses, such as in Matthew 18, those seem to be talking about church authority as to figuring out who has salvation and who doesn’t, based on whether they repent or not. @Jesus Christ Is Lord OK, but Paul isn’t the only apostle from whom we take instruction. We also take instruction from Peter, John, James, and Jude. And John tells us in his first letter, that if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, but if we confess our sins God is faithful and just to forgive us. And john is writing his first letter to people who already believe, as he states in chapter 2. Even David talks about how unconfessed sin wasted away his bones, but he felt better after he confess them to the Lord. I hope this is making sense. Yes, we are positionally saved, but it seems to be a spiritually healthy thing to confess our sins. It keeps us humble, our hearts contrite, and our faith constantly in the Lord and his grace. Think about it. If we claim to believe in Jesus, but never confess our sins, would it not be natural for us to become hearty and arrogant? I don’t know. Can you tell me. God bless.

@Jesus Christ Is Lord if this is the case, why did you appeal to James earlier, since Paul claims in Galatians that James, like Peter and John, were sent to the Jews. And then why did Paul go to preach in Jerusalem in the book of acts? I’m honestly not sure why if he is supposed to be the apostle to the gentiles. And Peter even preached to the Gentiles the parent acts chapter 10). And if such is the case, why do so many gentile Bibles contain the letters of Peter, James, and John? Whom does Judit write to? Taking the words of Paul over the words of the other apostles is no better than people in orthodox Christianity taking the words of Peter supposedly over the words of Paul. You have to take both. Peter confirms in his second letter that Paul’s writings are scripture, and Paul affirms Apple Store. If this is the case, why not throughout Matthews and John’s gospels, or at least Matthews, since his was written to the Jews?, We might as well just take just the Pauline letters, Mark, Luke, acts, maybe the gospel of John, and none of the Old Testament. This sort of standard just doesn’t work. With that logic, we would have to throw out the revelation of Jesus Christ written by John the apostle, right? Or is it true in Matthew 28:18 that we are supposed to go out and make disciples of all nations? Yes, juice, but he didn’t not preach to the Gentiles, and vice a versa for Paul, is that not right?

Amen. I only recently discovered Mr MacArthur too and I am living far away too. But what a refreshing person he is: he speaks the truth straight from the Bible and calls sin a sin and calls people out, no matter who they are. That is what I admire. He is not impressed by fame, wealth or status of someone, but only cares about the gospel, the word of God. Even where I am living, too many pastors are afraid to speak out loud about what the Bible says, afraid to call sin a sin, careful not to upset anyone or get fined over doing something. How I wish I could attend his church. I don’t agree with his stance in predestination, but still I would love to be able to go there on Sundays. Thank you for helping me understand the Word more and more as I listen to your sermons daily. They are blessings for me and I pray that Mr MacArthur may continue to preach for a long time in good health!

You cannot rely on your conduct or behavior as the source of your salvation. God promises in His Word such as in Philippians 1:6 and Ephesians 1:13 are proof that a Christian cannot lose their salvation. Also, remember that Hebrews 6: 4-8 can have a person believing that they can lose their salvation but, these words refer to a person that never came to a saving relationship in Jesus Christ. However, verse 9 explains that Christian can rest assured in the promise of God. The best thing to do is to be involved in a church that has doctrinal clarity and that does not preach that people rely on their own conduct and behavior for salvation. Only by God’s grace through faith because, we will never live a sinless life. Please ask the Lord for greater discernment and He will grant it. The Lord bless you.

John MacArthur is a false prophet who is a minister for the devil and his recent sicknesses certainly prove as much. Why! So if you are a believer like myself and you are supposedly possessing the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ then how is it that you are experiencing sin and sickness in your own life? Jesus did not sin nor did Jesus ever get sick and if Jesus is the same always, yesterday, today and forever then how can this be? “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Every day I deal with deceived believers who claim that it is impossible to stop sinning and who claim that sickness is just a normal part of this life. These lost souls have no idea how they are proving that they are nothing more then unbelieving children of the devil. Why? Because they are proving how they will not believe that possessing the Holy Spirit of Jesus who never sinned can keep their wicked souls from sinning. They are proving that they will not believe that possessing the Holy Spirit of Jesus who never got sick and who removed every type of sickness, disease or disability from everyone who turned to Him in faith can protect their souls from the devil’s afflictions. “Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NKJV So here is what these deceived believers certainly are not comprehending. Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ ‬There are no scriptures that ever relate that a sinner belongs to God or that a sinner is a child of God! There are no scriptures that ever relate that a believer will always sin or that a believer can never stop sinning! There are no scriptures that ever relate that sickness would be a normal part of this life or that a Christian will possess sickness in their life! You can look all that you like but you certainly will not find any such scripture to back up those lies. God commanded us to live a Holy and righteous life and this can only be achieved by being someone who overcomes their sins. “And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:6-8‬ ‭NKJV‬ ‬ “I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Jesus did not come to call on the righteous! Why? Because a righteous person does not sin. This is why a Christian is someone who lives exactly as Jesus did and once again Jesus did not sin nor did Jesus ever get sick. So how can you tell the difference between a believer who is a Christian and a believer who is deceived. Well a Christian who possesses the Holy Spirit knows they can never sin nor can they ever get sick since they are living their life exactly “like Christ” through the Holy Spirit of Jesus. A deceived believer on the other hand thinks that they will always sin and they will always have sickness in their life since they are being guided by a demon spirit and not the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. “Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:48‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. Plus Jesus made it crystal clear that it was the man’s sins that made him disabled since He related that a worse thing would come upon the man if he did not stop sinning. In Deuteronomy 28 God related His blessings for those who would obey Him and the curses that will occur on anyone who chooses to live in sin and disobedience. Sickness is definitely listed as a curse and it clearly reveals that you are a sinner who lacks knowledge of scripture since you are disobeying God. So anyone who can still sin and anyone who can still get sick is definitely proving that they are disobeying God and they certainly are not being guided by the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ. “If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE Lord YOUR GOD, then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues-great and prolonged plagues-and serious and prolonged sicknesses. Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you. Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in this Book of the Law, will the LORD bring upon you until you are destroyed.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭28:58-61‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ So if you still cannot comprehend how this false preacher is simply a misguided minister for the devil then you certainly are just as clueless and deceived as he most certainly is and you definitely will be joining his wicked soul in the lake of fire.

Wow, as with all things when God speaks, its like these words were spoken just for me. John lists everything in almost perfect order the trials I have been through! From a mum who died of cancer, a dad who died, a person who left me, even the blot clot I was recently diagnosed with!! Crazy. My faith is intact, despite my bad choices because I didn't create it, God did when he stepped in and revealed His everlasting unchanging love for me. I have heard a lot of people try to explain salvation, being saved, and this is one of the best that I have received. It is simple, direct and truly hits the exact points. What do you love? If you do not feel comfortable in the church and in the Word, seek a deeper relationship. Humility. Knowing you are a sinner, but through the grace and mercy of God, you are a saint. Obedience. Knowing Him, following Him, wanting to please Him, being convicted when you fail. Trials and tribulations. Simply stated, what can your faith survive. Trials do test and will validate. I agree, there are online as we can find them only a handful of GOOD Ministers of the Bible. JOHN MacArthur is for sure one I trust. JACK VAN Impe, passed away but you can still view his sermons online. Jodie Bachman is also very good. I know there are others, I can't think of more now, but there are more. I am disabled and can't get out to a church, so I rely on the ministers online. I always pray to Jesus to guide me to only ministers that are good ones, preaching the true word of God.

Thank you so much! I really struggled with this shortly after I got saved and it got so fearful I became mentally unstable and had to step away just to calm down and even function in life. I had some very harmful teachers who made me so afraid that I could lose my salvation and suffer a permanent separation from God, which really filled me with a paralyzing dread, any day if I forgot to repent that night and be as perfectly obedient as possible. And when I stepped away I was pretty angry at those teachers. But I missed my worship, missed my time in prayer with Jesus. It took me such a long time to come back and I still struggle with guilt about how long I not only rejected the legalistic fear-driven teachers but also doubted and wondered if I made a mistake even becoming a Christian in the first place. I finally realized how I absolutely cannot walk a perfect walk and that's why the ONLY way I can feel confident at the judgment is because Jesus can say that He knows me and I am one of His sheep, and therefore justified. But lately I have been feeling guilty, yet again, that it appears looking back that I believed in a works -based salvation, and I have been struggling with wondering if I were actually saved.

I lost my oldest daughter to suicide/murder from a Toxic Relationship, then my oldest son was having a hard time with her death, and tried one last Woh-Hah kind of thing, and overdose on Fentynal within two months apart. I've lost a lot of family, and friends over the years, but thier death really made me look into the mirror, and take inventory of myself, and my walk with Jesus. After over 40 years of being saved, you think you have it all figured out, but then you turn the page, and find out there's a whole new chapter. Keeping my eyes on Jesus, not looking to the left, or right. I keep running the good race, and fighting the good fight. For Faith the size of a mustard seed in Jesus, will move your mountains, and that same faith in Jesus, will help you overcome the obstacles along your journey in this life. Amen! If we could lose our salvation, WE WOULD, because we’re all fallen sinners with not an ounce of righteousness of our own. The only righteousness we’ll ever have is the righteousness of Christ imputed to us by the God given faith to believe the gospel. What we believe in our heart is what we live out. If you think you can lose your salvation, then you’re not trusting on what our Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross, you’re trusting in your own works to save you, because the righteousness of Christ is eternal. I was born again 20+ years ago, and there’s times it astounds me at how much Jesus has changed me. And my flesh, the “old man”, is still so far away from the sinless righteousness of Christ, but He has clothed me in His righteousness, and the “new man” longs to live in obedience to Him. Every day, Jesus sanctifies me, and His Spirit living in me bears witness to my spirit that I am His forever more. I am not my own, for I have been purchased at a great price, the sinless bl00d of God shed by our Savior on the cross, and I will stand firm in my faith, because Jesus says He will keep me standing. Praise Jesus for His precious bl00d shed to wash away the sins of all who believe, and praise Jesus for His faithfulness to keep His promises in His word. Perhaps this will shed some light on the doctrine imposed by John Calvin on Gods Word. It does not teach unconditional election. The only condition that God puts on salvation is that the person receives it because they they desire it and THEY put their faith in Him. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy 2 years ago, and if anything, it pushed me closer to Christ, I accepted it was God's choice for me, albeit it was a tough time for me. Be happy. It’s a grace to reflect your salvation. Imagine you die without knowing you were never saved. I went 1 year to church, I was dancing, singing, preaching the gospel on the streets, reading the New Testament 4 times or so, also many parts of the old , all this stuff without believing with true heart. Then one day I actually believed and I was born again. Since that day everything changed and now I suddenly understand the word of God, got so much wisdom of the word, love everyone , I am so happy all the time and laugh all the time, I experienced God’s supernatural, heavenly, immense Love so many many times, my prayers are pretty much always answered , I believe all the time even though many tragedies happened and it’s just a miracle that I still believe lol…. and I don’t do anything for it, He really does everything since then, NOT BEFORE. That was also a new experience that He really does everything and I have to say it again -> Everything started automatically SINCE that day I actually believed, since that moment -> just like the Bible says If you're interested my problem was I was trusting in my mind the whole time. I only believed a truth when I thought about it. When I wasn't thinking it was like the truth was gone-> that’s complete unbelief lol. Since that day I always believe the truth, even if I don’t think about it every moment. That was a complete new experience for me, now for 2 years I’ve been born again Also in my case it was the mind but generally there could be other cases. For example You can’t believe the gospel when your money is gone, your mother says something different, not enough people share the same truth, when you sin, when you can’t pray, when you can’t go to church, when your Pastor is gone, when you need rituals like praying every day for 3 hours always, when you don’t preach or something else is gone that you need to believe the gospel That’s really bad. You should only believe the gospel because God says so, not because God says so AND your friend or something else is needed to believe it. When all these things are gone suddenly the trust is lost and it's like the end of the world for these people and the truth is shown that they had no faith in the gospel at all

Always a great and true Biblical answer from Brother John MacArthur. Could you imagine the anxiety of a person always worrying about losing their salvation after God has promised us in His Word that He would never leave us or forsake us? It would be a most unnerving experience. The belief of losing salvation comes from two sources: false teachers and misinterpretation of Scripture both motivated by the main source, Satan. God cannot save and then unsave someone. It would violate His character and God will never violate His own promises or truth. I think one of the main misinterpretations is in Hebrews 6: 1-9 and this text is lucid to a mature Christian but, many new to the faith miss its true meaning. Hebrews 6 :1-8 is where many get tripped up but, read verse 9-10 where a Christian can rest with assurance. We actively wait and rest in God’s grace and are so dependent upon His grace and mercies. I think a problem that many have with those verses is not from the standpoint of a person thinking they can lose their salvation, but instead lose the opportunity for salvation. If someone has been saved, they are saved. Nothing can separate them from the love of God. But if someone knew of the way of salvation and does not believe, but continues on without repenting, can they then be apostate? Can they seek repentance with tears but never find it?

My professing Christian daughter in law is asking for a divorce from my unsaved son, he won’t go to marriage counseling, he overdraws money, works all the time and doesn’t spend time with the family etc, and I told her, Bible says only by adultery can she biblically divorce, but she says she doesn’t love him any more, to which I replied, but you are commanded to love your neighbor, your husband. If you're saved, then you were always the 4th soil group it just took more time for you to act like it. Many verses in the bible say nothing will take you out of God's hand. Or "they left us cause they weren't of us, for if they were of us they never would have left." The Bible is very clear, either you are saved or you aren't. There is no middle ground as it is a gift that isn't taken away. If it was possible to lose your salvation where are the thousands/millions of suicides or murders by Christians so nobody lost their salvation? If people really really believed they could lose salvation and risk an eternity in hell, very few people would gamble another day or year(s) knowing they could lose salvation had they not died sooner.
