It is a mistake to think anyone could be this imitation America’s ally. The final blow to America happened in 1865 and everything that followed was simply a stolen identity and is inherently illegitimate. Fact of the matter is that the USA is not actually the USA as defined by the Constitution; it’s as if someone broke into someone’s home, killed them, and then took on their identity and acted like them, living their life.

Having asked many people on their thoughts about BRICS as an example the majority by far have no idea what BRICS even is let alone why these nations ever formed BRICS. Some facts about Greenland: The population is 56k; 40K are ethnic Greenlanders (ancestors of the Innuit), 10K are danes born in Denmark. Greenland is a self governing region under the Danish state; they are dual language of greenlandish and danish. Greenland was "discovered" by Danish-Norwegian viking Eric the red in 980 and has been a Danish coloni since. The last 100 years because of pressure from USA and Russia, Denmark has put much effort into patrolling the waters and land (the famous dog sled sirius patrol) and maintained tiny bases. Denmark has also won claim of ownership of Greenland two times in the international court of Haag. Denmark has in the past been somewhat emperialistic with Greenland (forcing the native population into not so nice things); this is not the case anymore but there is understandably still some amount bad feelings; also there has been some looking down on Greenlanders because they have a tendency to alcoholism (this is genetic for Innuits). Denmark does not stand in the way if Greenland decide to become their own country, and there have been debates for decades in Greenland about such - It can be basically be decided by a vote by the citicens of Greenland. Besides some bad feelings from the past, there is also a lot of good feelings of affinity with Denmark, and there are quite a lot of advantages such as the free education system in Denmark etc, so the population is split on the issue. Also Denmark pays for 50% of the expenses of the greenland state, and without that Greenland would need to find other sources of income. There is also the problem of a very small population will have a hard time managing a full out country with everything that includes. As a dane I would prefer if Greenland choose to stay with us, and I have a problem with being screwed over after being way too loyal to the USA for too long (To be an enemy of the U.S.A is dangerous. To be a friend is fatal). And I am worried on behalf of Greenlanders that switching to USA or even allowing huge foreign influence and investments is a recipe to be run over, used and abused, their natural resources "stolen for a handful of pearls". It is not that I think Greenlanders are stupid and cannot make good deals, but these things will get out of control for a "country" that has no real counter measures to all the tricks on the book of their foreign "partners" (economic, military, lawfare, etc) - At least Denmark has no intent or lawful way of "ripping of Greenland".
@JK-nk6tlКүн бұрын
Additionally: USA have a base leased from Denmark (Thule air base), and that lease explicitly states that Greenland is a nuke free zone, ie no missiles can be put there, and Thule air base may not even be used as a transport hub for nukes. Afaik all of scandinavia is a nuke free zone ?

To avoid being a prisoner of the U.S., Greenland should appeal to Canda, the U.K. or Norway and become a client of one or the other. Stay away from the U.S.A. in any case. We are the Evil Empire.

Correction. Inuit are NOT genetically disposed to alcoholism. No one is. Ever. EVERY indigenous group on EVERY CONTINENT that were colonized have severe generational trauma and alcohol is prevalent to deal with this pain and trauma.

Only Sanders in the USA and Jeremy Corbyn in the UK would pursue a policy of peace and cooperation with Russia and communist China. Moreover, Corbyn was re-elected to the House against a right-wing Labor and Sanders also to the Senate. If he had run against Biden/Harris in the Democratic primaries, Sanders would have been elected Democratic candidate and would have generated a strong mobilization for the Democratic vote against Trump and would have been elected President hands down.

Trump's cabinet picks are very deliberate. He chose people who will not be able to stand up to him, some will not last the full term, there will be turnover in true apprentice fashion.

Greenland lacks the political savvy or the material means to ensure its sovereignty. They would do well to find a powerful patron who will protect them and not try to rip them off, as the U.S. would do. Of the possible options, Greenland should appeal to Canada, the U.K. or Norway and become a client of one or the other. Stay away from the U.S.A. in any case. We are the Evil Empire.
