In the first edition, the blue one from 2019, you got 7ml for day 1 to 24, in the second red one from last year it was 12ml. For the 25th you got their 30ml bottle. As far as I know the new one will again contain 24 x 12ml and 1 x 30ml, like last year. But this year it will not only contain standard, sheen and/or shimmer inks, but also scented ones and "chameleon" inks, whatever they mean by that (I hope for some chroma shading).

Oh no! I jumped on the bandwagon for the first time in 2022 and I absolutely hate scented inks. Ugh! May have to sell it. In pas years, I have only gotten individual samples or bottles of Inkvent calendar inks I liked. Eventually you can see the inks revealed on KZbin videos, so it's not hard to pick the ones you'll like

@@marilyngardner4269 They usually label which ones are which, so scented should be on the label, i think the best idea would be to sell just the scented ones if you dont like them, may dishearten you on the day of the opening of Advent (if you wait for that) but you should try the rest of the inks, no? God bless!

This year's Green edition will be shipping mid-late October. $115 US. I purchased mine for $90 from Cult Pens UK. I buy all my Diamine inks from them. A 30ml standard ink is around $2,50. Plus, they have sales as well, at even less! $135 order is free shipping too!

I haven't purchased one of the calendars, but I did get a bottle of Diamine Fire Embers in one of the footed bottles. I understand it was one of the 2019 inkvent colours. It's a red-orange that almost glows! I'd say my favourite Diamine is Sherwood Green.

I did get the Red Edition last year then I quickly opened it up and made sample vials for three of my pen friends. I wrapped them in craft paper so they couldn’t see and labeled them and sent them off. Then I put mine back in the box and hid it away until December so I would forget what I had seen. It was a really fun way to share the experience as I knew it would be way too much ink for just me. I still have most of the ink left so I won’t be getting it this year but I did enjoy it.

I bought a sample of Jack Frost from Anderson Pens and I didn't notice much shimmer at all. Does yours have plenty of shimmer? or did Anderson Pens not mix their bottle well enough prior to filling my sample? I'll +1 the ink anyway because it is beautiful without the shimmer. I love how Jack Frost's highlight shade makes the ink appear to glow on the page! Have you tried Polar Glow? I haven't. I suspect that Jack Frost is Polar Glow + shimmer.

Consider using Jinhao 992 clear demonstrators or something equivalent for shimmer inks. I especially like their 1.1mm stub for shimmer inks. Here's why: - it's clear throughout-both the barrel and the grip. You can see where the shimmer is or isn't. - they're cheap. Less than 5 USD, shipping included, if you're willing to order direct from China/Aliexpress. Tinker with them. Customize them to your liking. Throw them at people you don't like. Tons of possibilities for creative people. - I own 3 stubs and one F so far and wouldn't hesitate to order more if I felt the need. The feeds keep up but I've had to adjust some of the stubs for better flow. Making the adjustments took less than 5 minutes. - they're easy to clean. The grip section has a notch for the nib, which allows a user to easily pull the nib out without pulling the feed out too. If the shimmer clogs the feed you can pull the nib out, wipe the nib and the main channel in the feed, slide the nib back on, roll the pen a bit to get the shimmer back in suspension, prime the feed, and get back to work. That is as low maintenance as shimmer inks get, in my experience. - they include an o-ring and a converter so they can be either eyedropper or converter pens straight out of the wrapping. - the screw on cap has one of those inner caps to help seal in the freshness. Downsides: - it isn't a pen for people who enjoy prestige. It's a tool/art supply. - the plastic that makes up the grip is made of two layers. One of my four pens traps moisture/ink between those layers. I've never experienced a leak but the trapped liquid occludes my view of the feed. The two layers are screwed together so I believe they can be dis- and re-assembled but I haven't cared enough to try it. I've also had good results with Pilot Parallels. I suspect that you didn't see much shimmer in your writing. Each ink is different but the shimmer immediately starts dropping out of suspension. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2nd and 3rd swabs had noticeably less shimmer in them, too. I'm sure you know that but some of your viewers may not. I really appreciate the review! Has Tempest held up nicely in your every day use and writing? Reviewers often talk about how beautiful shimmering inks are in swatches on Tomoe River but don't always touch on how well/poorly they write (eg, bleedthrough, spread, dry time) on a variety of papers. I'm considering Tempest as a possibility to represent April in my planner. The alternative is to buy some silver and/or blue Pennonia shimmer additive from CultPens and adding it to a well-behaved ink I already know and love, but I've never tried shimmer additives. I'm hoping this 2022 inkvent has a chroma-shading ink with some shimmer, otherwise I'll have to make that, too.

I've used a platinum Preppy for shimmer inks and it works very well.
@twitch75152 жыл бұрын
@@PEIPenGuy I like the Preppy and Prefounte but my concern with them is that the feed can't come out for easy brushing, should the need arise. I don't mind some residual shimmer getting passed along to the next ink but it always rubs me the wrong way when I put one color in but another color comes out due to hidden residue from the previous ink. Do you know of a way to pop out the Preppy's feed?
