I think what people forget is if you look at an open trailer they are around 5 or 6000 in 2024 for a car trailer. I just picked up at 8.5 x 24 blackout with polycore and thermoply roof liner for 6700 dollars. The point is being you're not spending much more in getting a nice enclosed covering with doors and ramps. I have looked at many of these and no matter where you get it they quality is never perfect. They always seem to need some wiring adjustments like putting plastic sheathing around the wires where they go through the frame Etc. If you don't overload them maintain them and get them rust proved they are great trailers and there are plenty around that are over 20 years old and still going. Nice video.

I’m originally from NYC myself living in Alabama. Did my research and ruled out getting my cargo trailer from the South Georgia manufacturers ! Those hillbillies don’t put any pride in their workmanship ! I’m ordering from Reed Trailer in Omaha Nebraska ! They use .040 aluminum siding vs .024 / .030 and 16” on center all around !!! 7x18x7 for $6700 and a one piece all aluminum roof (no vent no leaks)

Yeah I've been down there near Pearson/Douglas Ga last summer rode 2 & 1/2 hrs from Griffin to see the trailers and come to find out they didn't have my trailer I wanted when I've initially checked online and it showed it in stock. Waste of time and miles on my vehicle, so I went with a covered wagon trailer from Young Blood trailers out in Madison and it is very well built definitely feel like I've got my money's worth glad I didn't settle for less and went cheaper.

Good call on buying one from Reed. Bighorn is a good trailer made in Omaha.

As you state it, the general quality is very questionable. If I can allow myself a suggestion; at 08:40 each place where a wire passes through the frame, it is better/necessary to install a rubber/plastic grommet in order to prevent the trailer wires from notching/cutting and add to the frustation of questionnable quality. Unfortunately, the majority of door locks system on trailers do not offer very good security despite the presence of a good padlock.

They did pit them on the cross supports starting at the front to the back but when they went through the main rail to the side where the lights are there aren't any in there. I did add the black plastic wire protector over the wire and shove that through the frame. Knock on wood so far no issues. But you're absolutely right

I'm headed to Georgia next week and then taking it to Rochester next month so some weird karma in this video. I really appreciate the heads up for what to look for. I'm getting a car hauler with a lot of additional features. I wont call them upgrades per se but I need to be able to get my car in and out and tie it down. Thanks again for the nice video.
@ips71253 жыл бұрын
My brother started selling these and i think he has a used 20 ft car hauler in stock. Ap auto Haus, at the old nyles trailers location.

I have a Spartan cargo trailer built in south Georgia and it has the intention just in front of the finder. And get worse the more I use it. It's 3 years old and I think the frame is bending. My max load is 1700 pounds. Not overloaded. It's a design flaw in the trailer. Good luck with yours.

Hello. Great video. Can you tell me who your broker was? It seems that you liked him and that would be a great place to start. Thanks.

Good thing you got this 2 years ago. The price has shy rocketed now. Bought my tiny 5x10 for $4800 and that was the lowest I can find locally. Your size cargo with tandem axle is going for minimum $7500 - $9000 depending on brand. I'm in California. Btw next time never buy chip board/drymax flooring. Better off with plywood.

I custom ordered mine, 7x14 with a v-nose. They cut corners to save money and those cuttings caused leaks in the v-nose especially. The door frame is not square, the trim sealant broke down and started to decay. Mine was black and so the walls buckled in the summer sun between the side wall studs causing separation along the lower trim that also created leaks. Totally a piece of shit. I regret spending the money on a cheaper trailer. The biggest cause of leaks was in the roof along the edge. Instead of over lapping the roof frame they cut it right to the inside edge of the roof frame. It leaked. I then took aluminum chimney flashing and applied it to the entire perimeter of the roof, overlapping the side edge by 2'. The diamond plating trim was cut on an angle even thought it was a straight 2'. Over time all the screws have backed out and once a year I go to every single screw and re tighten the loose ones. I have since sold it after having it for 4 years and upgraded to an all aluminum made in Michigan.

I know my brother decided to start huying and selling these. I have seen good knes and really bad ones. I lucked out and got a good one, not great but good. No leaks yet as of 3/10/21. Almost a year and in upstate my winter.

8x14 7000gvwr trailers for less then $5k built in GA are straight garbage! You can't really complain when you buy a cheap trailer. Best thing you can do is upgrade the springs to 5k pound springs instead of the 3500 pound springs, you will get much more life out of your tires.

We just picked up a new 24x8.5 car trailer. So far the only thing I see we need to do is cost the wood underneath as it is bare, and put some pink foam board insulation between the roof frame members and 1/4" plywood under it to sandwich it between the roof sheeting and the ceiling. Ours didn't come with any roof insulation at all. Not looking forward to missouri summers at the race track with nothing but a thin sheet of aluminum with no heat reflectivity. We outfitted it with a toolbox, front work bench, shelves, tire rack, led lighting, solar panel and invertor so it is all self sufficient regarding power supply

Lot of trailer for under $5,000! I bought a used 2017 Interstate1 cargo trailer V nose 6x12 with a dent for $3,000 in 2021. (thought that was a deal, then) Have never seen a trailer you had to take the wheels off to grease the wheel bearings. "for the money" looks like you got a deal. How's it holding up after 3 years?

I bought one a couple of years ago and special ordered it with windows insulation, finished ceiling and camper style side door. 1 put upgraded tires right away on it. Found out one of the rims was bent plus the tires weren't balanced. 2 behind the tire I discovered on BOTH sides they didn't bother to screw in the sheet metal to the frame ,so you could lift up the sheet metal and see insulation and plywood.....how nice if driving in mud ,rain, snow ,salt to help destroy your trailer, but I fixed it better than they would. I got my first trailer and the door was a foot off ,the windows were all off and they had to do another trailer which took another month. I got a gallon of the best outdoor wood paint and painted the underneath and shoved the brush as far as I could in every nook and cranny. The roof I put 2 coats of the best silicone sealer from Lowe's at 60 a gallon ,it took a gallon and a half. I went camping and the trailer pulled real nice. You can tap the green circle and check out my conversion camper. It's a little shaky but if you like log cabins it's pretty nice. I live in Florida but I'm from the Cooperstown area. Good review.

I know it is a little work and a pain but, I bet if you pull the skin off the inside of the trailer, you may be able to push that indentation out that you were pointing out by the fender on the passenger side. That's the kind of thing that would drive me nuts too...

Hi did anyone here bought a trailer from company called wow cargo trailers? I feel you man... these trailers are not ment to last. It's sad but true. I houl cars with 34 v nose enclosed so I understand your concerns I can relate. I had to replace suspension as soon as I left the dealer. Stock is junk. Sell it and get ATC trailer. After all it's a investment 👌

I didn't know about the deposit thing honestly I don't think 🤔 I'll ever buy another new cargo trailer. Utility and flat bed trailers for me only from now on. But dang they sure sell a lot of these. The deposit thing makes me sick it's all a racket with Hispanic slave labor. Good video I love your e track trimmer setup
