tip: put all your junk items in the workbench..no need to scrap them..they will scrap automatically as needed when u build.
@fivenotewonder10 күн бұрын
You’ll notice that auto scrapping from the workbench will not yield all the possible components an item of junk can give, so some stuff gets wasted here and there in the process. **APPARENTLY A BUG THAT WAS FIXED** For this reason I always stored all my junk into a designated container when returning to base and then when ready to scrap I would dump all the items onto the floor in a big pile in a clear open space and just scrap everything one by one as I highlight over it, which resulted in much more scrap. Then I put all the loose components into the work bench to be pulled from when crafting & building. But for sure your suggestion would save Liz some time with the auto scrapping for this playthrough.

The likeness numbers that pop up when you choose a word while hacking terminals are the number of letters that are in the correct place not the number of letters that are correct. Example if you choose the word BOOK and it says likeness = 3 then you choose the word COOK and it says likeness = 3, the correct password would be a word that ends with OOK since both words have those letters in the same place.

So for wiring, the basic rules: 1: if it has a number next to the lightning symbol, thats how much power it takes, if it doesnt have a number, it just needs to be near power (usually see rule 2) 2: if it has a connector type thing on it, it needs to be wired up (for instance the posters), wires cannot go through walls unless there is a hole in the wall, that it can go through OR with the conduits which are squirrely at best.

Yay! Diamond City-it’s been too many years to remember but my first time I’m sure took about a gazillion hours 😂 A nice thing about the summer shorts is the 2 point boost to Charisma to help with the persuasion checks and prices from vendors. Plus can also have arm and leg armor equipped at same time, just not the chest piece. I didn’t do much of this on my 1st pIaythrough, but I really like the settlement building!! Not sure where I fall on the spectrum and also tmi… …but currently I’m playing on Survival (where there is no quick travel and can only save on sleep) and I have about 20 settlements with 15-20 settlers on each. Each settlement is linked to the others with trade routes so they all share inventories. I’ve have corn, tatos and mutfruit crops on all of them so I can use cook station to make starch (adhesive needed to mod weapons and armor). Also on each settlement have at least a trading stand, weapon emporium, food stand and first aid station (‘cause getting sick in survival mode is a thing). Also feed troughs for the Brahmin ‘cause they produce fertilizer that can be combined with plastic & water at the chemistry station to make jet, which, just like any reputable drug dealer, I sell for lots of caps 😄 All my settlements turn a profit so can collect caps from them periodically. Sure, I get that “settlement is under attack” pretty often, but the defense are high enough (machine gun, missile launchers and heavy laser turrets) and the settlers are armed well enough that usually the fights resolved in a few minutes, or even while I’m still running there. Whew! That was a lot! Now I’m laughing at myself 😄

You don't need to scrap your junk, and don't sell it. It's all used for building, even the cigarettes and paper money. Use the "store all junk" button in the workshop. It has unlimited storage space. When you build, it will use the items from there. If you want to save pencils and pumpkins, build a shelf for them or store them in that trashcan until you figure out how you want to display them. If you're carrying them or keep them in the workbench, they might get used for parts. You did good getting to Diamond City as fast as you did. It takes time to get enough levels and experience. ⚾

First of all, I love your videos and this series especially! It's like re-learning the game along with you 👍 With wiring up lights and things inside your shack, someone may have already mentioned this and I could be wrong but I think if you slap a conduit or connector piece right on to the back wall of the shack and connect it to the generator it should power up your ceiling fan without directly connecting a wire to it.....I think! Don't quote me on this 😋

Fun episode! Welcome to the "baseball" place, Diamond City. Tip: For setting up electrical in any settlement, to get power inside your shack, there is a pass-through connector that goes through a wall with attach points on either side. Wires won't go through any wall on their own. Hook up power to the outside connector and then connect wires from the inside connector to items inside that require power, like your lighted posters and ceiling fan. The light is working only because it is within the power radius of the generator (which is very small).

Just wait until liz realizes she never scrapped all those wooden structures in her first episode and has over a dozen stored in the workshop... lol. There's "storing" build objects, and then there's "scrapping" them, which returns the materials you spent building them back to you. "Contents returned to workshop, doesn't it always?": you scrapped an object that has loot in it. If you don't grab the loot in a container and instead scrap it, you won't lose whatever was inside the object, instead, whatever goodies were inside it will be waiting for you in the workbench.
@KyleNordstrom7 күн бұрын
Just be warned that may not work for locked containers, I believe that changed it so if you scrap something that's locked, you lose the items unless you unlock it first. Originally you could just scrap the safe at the drive in to get all the goodies, but now you have to unlock it first.

18:00 Electric power is radiated in Fallout 4. Many items like lamps, the ceiling ventilator, etc. only have to be in an emission field to work. You usually put the connectors (!) on the outside or on the roof and connect those to your power supply. If the items aren't working, move items or connectors, because the emission field has a limited radius. The lighted signs in your shack need a direct connection. There is a "pass through wall" connector that allows to attach things inside and connection to the power-source from outside. Highly recommend you experiment a bit with all the connectors to get an idea what the game offers and how to use it.

About the settlements : build them little by little, step by step, as you 'll be asked to go there and there regulary during the game. Each time i visit one settlement i build a little more, in the end it's very satisfying. To connect them with supply lines, take one resident and send him to the next settlement on the map, and do that over and over. Don't connect all settlements to the same one big "capital center" as it will create big traffic around that center. Food+water+residents+charisma = defense total to deploy, something like that.

Craft some Grape Mentats at a Chemistry Station, It will tell you what Perk and Materials to collect. Grape Mentats increase your Charisma by 5 points.

The crafting system was one of the things that made me decide to give the game a try rather than just watching you play.

Forget trying to cripple ghouls by shooting them in the legs. They're squishy enemies that you'll kill sooner than cripple. The only time you might do that is with high level ghouls which you aren't close to fighting yet.

To get better prices & passing speech skill checks you might want to carry a Charisma set on you for talking & bartering. Some hats, clothes & glasses have charisma on them & they're nice & light. For instance hose Summer Shorts you have are +2 Charisma. Beer can give you another +1.

Check out the "lone wanderer" perk. It works even if you have dogmeat as a companion, but it will only work with hin. Food for thought.

If I remember correctly, you dont have to favorite your grenades. You can just click and equip them and they won't take up a space in your favorited spots.

You missed that Cricket sells fusion cores for you power armor, but you can't afford that right now anyway. Cricket has her rout she goes on, just like Carla, so she wont be at that spot all the time.

To get electricity to a builing, you should place one of thoose "conduits" or what they are called (looks like a nipple) on the outer wall and most stuff will work in the house. If things need a wire indoor just put one of that same conduit on the innerwall and wire it from that.

When you use VATS, you use Attack Points. Generally the more powerful the weapon the more AP points it needs, so for example, a sniper rifle might only get 2 shots to a pistols 5. When you hold your breath to aim with the sniper it uses AP as well. Also bare handed combat is treated differently to melee, (with a hand held weapon), so keep that in mind with perk bonuses.

Something no one has mentioned that you may have figured out already is that you can also go up and down in the perk chart. As long as you have that many points in that ability, then you can go that many levels down on the perk chart. Any perks you can use have a highlighted animation and ones you don't have the ability for are greyed out.

Can scrap all the stuff in your settlement like the broken beds in the way. Don't need to scrap junk just store it. It will pull it when you use it buy auto scrap. Only scrap weapons and armor you don't want to increase base size and get the stuff you want from it. And link you settlement with supply lines so that you can build there to

I take a lot longer to get to Diamond City. There are a few sidetracks I like to do first. Oh, and you don't need to sell stuff. Use it as raw materials. It's the post-apocalypse.

For a larger diet with vegan options try mods. Though since the update mods are not so reliable. As for pets like radroaches that is what cages are for. However you cannot have everything in one settlement. I tried that and when I opened all the cages at the same time the Deathclaw, Yao Gui, And Mirelurk tried to eat each other. The deathclaw won. The beta wave inducer only stops them from eating anything already there. Anything that comes in at the same time or after doe not seem to be protected. Mining helmets are how I light my settlements. I always upgrade the light and then equip it on a settler. I do occasionally put up streetlights and spotlights. You cannot have too much light? I scrapped everything in my first four hours back in 2015 to build beds and defenses etc. It depends on your needs.

I'm only 12 mins in (hopefully down the video you figured it out): the pylon is only used to extend power lines from place to place. You can attach a wire from the generator directly to the recruiting beacon (read the bottom of your screen - it has all the answers). If the wire being attached is highlighted in red, it's too far or something is in the way. Green is good to go. When there's an item with just a lightning bolt, it means if you place that item near a pylon (a few feet), it will turn on automatically. If an item has a number next to the lightning bolt, that's how much power is needed. The list of generators in workshop mode will give you the amount of power it can produce.

36:29 well technically you would place them down in front of enemies and let them step on them and blow up, then loot the cap. But that works too.

I just started playing and decided to go as a lone wanderer, doing the missions but not helping with the settlers. It’s rough going but fun. Limiting my watching now to try and avoid too many spoilers. One thing I do I learned from the previous games is when I go into and area just tap VATS and it helps getting surprised

⚾ Diamond City, the jewel of the Commonwealth. Have fun and maybe take in a baseball game while you're there. I can't quite remember when I finally made it there since I get distracted by everything to do on the way, but it was probably close to 100 hours.

the hacker things only get more difficult when you keep going thru if you dont get the hang of it now when you end up finding nick valentine you should keep him as your companion to do them for you. when building your settle ments youu can add the wire from the genorator directly to any item without the wood pylon that is to make it longer reach as its a connector. they have connectors you can add to the side of your house outside which should power items in your house. if you have a bigger build you need connectors going arounf the house on the outside to the other side of the room, when scraping you can just store all your junk in the workshop bench and it takes everything individually. if you need materials you can mark them in workshop do a mission and come back pop all your junk in workshop and build again after mission you find enough stuff to scrap without having to scrap it from the floor when dropping it. i just recently started playing on ps5 so i dont have some other builds you have but all the same otherwise. on top of the workbench house i built like a watch tower type thing with the guard towers too. and made power to all the houses to have everyone have their own places. you can assign the people in your settlements when in the workshop mode. asign them to food and shop and guard posts. building was a big part in my gameplay but needing more money to have wood and steel also was something i set up a bunch of water purifiers and if you eat some grape menetats when you sell to merchants they give you better prices. dont sell any of the books youve picked up the perks will go away there is a magazine and bobblehead display for your home base. save the money its used as cloth for beds. keep getting the fans it is springs and gear for building defense.

If you feel like diving down a rabbit hole, KZbin has a lot of videos where folks show off what they've built in their settlements. Some use mods, others don't, but all of them can give you ideas and inspiration for your own building.
