Top-loader bridge is a pain in the ass more than anything

Hi, Guitar Tech here, Toploaders are tonally not distinguishable, at least not to the audience, but it has dramatic effects on how you can setup the guitar. If the intonation screws are not low enough to the body, you will get to a point where the string saddle starts floating and will not go lower. So, setup-wise, its a really big difference. If the neck pocket is not perfect, you may end up with quite a high action. I'd have a "messy" intonated 3-saddle string-thru any day of the week compared to ANY top loader on a Telecaster.

Limited edition is just about the paint colors as they offered the Lake Placid blue,Surf green and the Red Sparkle finish for Guitar centers. So the only difference and why there called Limited editions are pertaining to the paint colors.

Check the tone nob to see if it was shipped on ten instead of five and also raise the pickups first before you change them. Most times it will brighten the sound!!!

Strange. Mine came with through the body strings load and it exactly the same colour.

Not sure if top loading changes anything in the sound. I believe it's more of a feel thing, with less tension on the strings. Same as wrapping the strings around the tailpiece on Tune-o-Matic that some players like to do.

I think a GFS/Guitar Fetish mod video would be a cool idea. You could get the tuners and bridge from them as well. I’m curious as to the quality of their hardware.

B-b-b-but Glenn said pickups are inconsequential to your sound....i'd love to hear your opinion on his latest tone videos. I'm kinda mixed. I have 5 guitars, with 5 different pickups, and they all sound different.

When you play with tones as compressed and shitty as Glenn's yeah, your pickups don't matter for generic palm muted power chords. Outside of that, yeah they matter.

Granted he showed they made a difference, but continues on about the speaker which up until a yr ago or less, he didn't really talk about much. I love his channel for vids like that, i think it's his personality that gets a little aggravating for me anymore.

I second the GFS Upgrade Video. You could even mark & drill the thru-body string anchors, with string ferrules in the back, once you get the new bridge. I have used the GFS Pickups and machine heads on other upgrades, in the past, and would be interested to see how those work with this Tele.

Prince played a Tele. Now you can get funky. I would get one but I just split the coil on my 8 string.

Hey Kyle, I would check your pots they probably 250k pots, and 500k pots would really brighten up those flat pickups. Also, there might be .047 capacitor, which would also darken up the tone as well. I would change to .022 capacitor. Possible mods? Schaller makes a great top load bridge. I would return it. The to-do list is just too much.
