Great video and suggestions. Where exactly can I call to rent a pen before we go? We'll be there spring break and have heard it's a busy time. Thanx for all your great videos!

You are welcome!! I am not sure if you are able to rent over the phone. If you call the park, tell them you need information on pen rental and they can direct you to someone that can help in the diamond discovery center building. It tends to be really busy in the first and last couple of hours for them and they are usually short on staff, but hopefully they can get you fixed up. Good luck on your visit, and thanks for watching!!

I would suggest calling the park well before your trip to rent a pen. There's a limited number of them. I can tell you that my family and I couldn't rent one. They were all taken. Mostly by regulars that perpetually rent them. So your chances of getting a pen for your week or so visit are slim.

Sadly, this is true. The park has a limited number available and they have become harder to get as people have learned the efficiency this provides. They have in years past built more of these to meet demand, but are now declining to do this.

Answered every question except: How Much $$!
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
junk man right now, it is about $5 daily or $64 per month. I am not sure if or when any prices change.
@junkman87424 жыл бұрын
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner Thanks. Not bad price. Good to know if I ever go. Do you ever look at all those people barely digging with a little contempt as they piddle about the field?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
junk man sometimes i do get amused when a person does it completely wrong but insists that their way is the only way. Sometimes you have to be willing to learn. I still am learning from others there.

When I get there again it'll be for a week to 10 days. One of those pens would be great. Thanks for the info.

You have a slice of the niche there at CoD in Arkansas... I really enjoy your vids! Find some beauties in 2020! I am out in SW Oregon, focusing on gold... Maybe I should start doing some vids o my own....

That would be awesome! Find a way to stand out in your niche though, but dont wait too long to start! I started looking for diamonds as a hobby many years back, i wish i had started making videos back then!

Great idea

Those pens need a caged roof on them to protect the renters from some people.
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
Caleko & Mining America that would certainly be an upgrade to the pens.

Can you take paydirt home from this mine? It looks like some people had a lot of buckets! Thanks for the video!
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
Moxie McMahon you can only take home the gravel once the silt has been washed from it. The rule is that one 5 gallon bucket per paid admission per day may be taken home, of washed gravel. The buckets you see are people gathering material to take to a wash pavilion and wash.
@moxiemcmahon4 жыл бұрын
@@TheArkansasDiamondMiner thanks for responding! That must be one heavy bucket, can you drive up to the pen to hoist it in?😆
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
Moxie McMahon 😂. Those buckets are very heavy! But, nothing says they have to be full. I fill mine to the top and they weigh around 75 pounds each, so carrying two at a time is pretty tough. For most people, its enough to fill one to about 2/3 and get it moved.

Have you ever camped in the park. Great idea about the pens!!
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner4 жыл бұрын
I have not camped at the park yet, I had planned to but it was canceled recently.
@sbritton13133 жыл бұрын
But what's the rate?
@TheArkansasDiamondMiner3 жыл бұрын
There are rates for daily and monthly rental periods. I am unsure if they have changed, so the best thing is to call them to find out availability and price.

Thought a pen was a pin, good vid! Pen as in a cage get the buckets of gravel, not a tester pen/pin
