Completely, unlucky to be in Dorian's era. Look at their separation and condition and then look at Phil Heath or Big Ramy and they are just miles ahead. So much more impressive. Dorian's hewn from granite conditioning, that grainy look from heavy weights combined with huge calves, quads and back was just overwhelming, only reason these two greats didn't have Mr O titles of their own. Shaun Ray was also brilliant, just brilliant.

@@H.K.5 is that so? Then why did so many bodybuilders that competed in the 90s say the same thing about Flex? he regularly cheated on his diet and his training regime. Dorian Yates himself said that if Flex was as committed as he was and had his approach to bodybuilding, he'd be really really hard to beat. Flex didn't put in the work because his physique came easy to him, his shape is all genetics and he put on weight easily. Why would you give 100% every day under those circumstances? He knew he could get away with cheating on his diet, clubbing, not training properly so he did it.

Sure, he had the shape and aesthetics, but bodybuilding is a sport with a set judging criteria that needs to be met and has rules. Doesn't matter what youtube heroes think, Flex is not an uncrowned champion, he didn't deserve to win in 1993, he didn't deserve to win 1998 and he sure as hell didn't deserve to win in 1999.

Flex had the aesthetics and shape but it simply wasn't enough to compensate for the lack of size and conditioning. 230 pounds and soft glutes and hamstrings? Barely a christmas tree? come on now, he was getting destroyed in the back poses.

They just simply didn’t want him. Period. It could be bad feelings, hate, or simply a different way of thinking. He may have been too cocky. ...that alone could keep you on that slippery slope. But in all, I believe he received more than his share of crowns during his professional career.

For me, his arms overpowered his torso. Ronnie looks better. Look at the first side to side where they have their hands on their hips. Ronnie is just more imposing because of his chest and width. Flex's torso is kind of slim in comparison. And Ronnie's lats are much wider.
