I'm still researching, but this is my favorite metal-roof solution thus far and here's why: 1. No exposed fasteners. 2. Dead-simple installation. 3. Small(ish) panels and localized attachment point (better for mitigating thermal expansion issues). 4. Easy to bend, un-fold, and cut to fit custom applications. Here are the cons: 1. No easy way to replace a single panel. 2. No easy way to under-vent (no batten installation option, but perhaps a plastic mesh would suffice?) 3. Not enough information on the website (no mention of size, weight, price, color, or pattern options)

Hello Joshua, We appreciate your thoughts, i think we have corresponded via email already but here are some thoughts as far as some of your con's go: 1. A single panel can be skinned with a new one over top. 2. As far as an under vent goes we apply the shingles flat to the deck with no strapping so you would rely on you soffit and ridge or other roof ventilation. 3. We are always looking on ways to improve the website (www.diamondroof.on.ca). Size is approx. 16" square with coverage of 1.72 sq ft., weight is about 690g per shingle, standard colours are listed on the website, colours can be mixed and matched to create any desired pattern.

@@diamondroofer Soffits do not supply ventilation to the back of the panel. Underventing is critical to the longevity of the metal. Century old metal roofs were installed on spaced solid wood sheathing and its the primary method used in Europe and Russia today. That's an important indicator. Installing metal over continuous plywood is a relatively new experiment and we've already seen problems in humid climates associated with it.

@Josh! Tulberg You may try spaced solid wood sheathing over battons with 1/4" gaps. This is commonly called compound battens. You may also try a cedar breather mesh like Delta Trela but just make sure the decking is the correct material/thickness. Either way it's flippin expensive!

10 thousand video on install, still none on how to replace single damaged shingle or small area. Or repair single shingle or small area.

Any way to install wood is nessesory . You are fixing it over wood frame . Do you have an other alternate for wood

Garbage over priced shingle. Man if you are going to put metal, Use the 10x 2 foot Metal roofing strips. get the job done in 5 hours, instead of this 3 day job. Waste of money honestly.

I could see this being worth the upfront cost to people. Metal roofing strips are honestly pretty ugly to most people, and the metal cedar/slate shingles... well they look pretty fake. These are visually interesting, aren't pretending to be anything they're not, and bring the durability of a metal roof.

@@Tithis The reason I'm looking at these is because they're the most cost-effective option for approximating the look of my house's original asbestos fiber cement slates.
