This video shows how to set up a small basket center for the Diamond stitch. It also shows you how to do a Backstitch. I’m working on this diamond stitch so that I can learn how to do a candle in the window Stitch. I can’t find any instructions on it so I’m going to have to learn it myself.
This basket starts out with a Wrapped coil, then the initial row has a straight stitch or regular stitch. Then you back stitch, creating an X on the top. That forms the bottom half of your diamond Stitch. When you start stitching through the X at the top, it starts forming your top part of the diamond stitch. Then you backstitch to complete your first set of diamond stitches.
It was a little confusing for me at first but the more I did it. The more confident I felt. I am told it looks best on the side of a basket if you’re keeping the coils the same size. I did it on the bottom because I was making a training video. It still has a cool look, the diamonds are small towards the center and get larger as we go along.
As I said in the video, it’s a lot easier if you just get a starter basket and try it! It made it easier for me. Thanks for watching.

And here’s another one! Beginner How to Use Alcohol Inks in Resin for Pine Needle Basket Centers kzbin.info/www/bejne/p4jGcnRtmsaJhrM. For this little green one I just used green and white and then added a little sparkle in the center. These are the centers that I use in my Pine Needle Basket kits for beginners.

Can you make the centers out of Polymer clay?

Yes! My teacher made several out clay!

In fact I just bought three colors that I want to try, I’ll post a video on how they turned out. As long as you have some holes that you can attach to, the hardened clay seems to hold up!

@@jennieleegems Any suggestion on how thick they should be?
@jennieleegems
@jennieleegems 2 жыл бұрын
My suggestion is about 1/4” thick. That’s what I try to keep my resin centers at.
