Here are more translations for some of the Indonesian. 6:30 / 6:34 The Way Big counterfeit, "Ball Man", is nicknamed by one of the characters as "Bekel Ball Man" based on an old children's game. 6:34 / 6:47 The Heatblast looking one on the left, "Torch Man", is nicknamed by one of the characters as "Stove Boy". 13:14 The sign says "Room of Lord Zed. Also don't forget the very limiting budget, the production team have the mindset like "if we can do it cheaply, why must spend extra money".

As to why there are Iron Man, Hulk, etc. rip offs, it's been a custom here in Indonesia to just blatantly include popular characters for no reason other than to attract audience/exposure. Also yes these kinds of series/soap operas in Indonesia are very professionally made from big studios, the only thing explaining the cheap CGI is that they had very tight deadlines as you guys mentioned, or here we say it "Kejar Tayang" which roughly translates to "Chasing Release".

But good times nonetheless IIRC, the power rangers ripoff actually comes from a show that airs alongside Ben 7 the shows called "super rangers" (if you somehow decided to look into it, they might not look the same as the one you saw on the crossover episode, this is because they got several "upgrades" midseason, changing their appearance) and both of them were aired on what considered at that time as "Indonesian prime time" (19:00 - 21:00)

So basically here in Indonesia how it works with non-government TV stations is that instead of the channel ordering production companies to create programs for them to air, they instead sell tv slots which the production companies will bid on so that they can air their programs on to that time slot. The production companies would then make their money back and a sizable profit from a percentage of the ad revenue. The tv station themselves doesn't really care much about the contents, so of course as a result we get atrociously bad TV dramas aimed at the lower class (which make up for most of the tv viewing demography) with minuscule budget and tight production schedules to cut even more costs. The scripts were written in house like an assembly line with each writer expected to hand in like I don't know maybe 10 episodes or more per week with zero regards to quality. And that's how shit shows like Ben 7 got made.

Back then, Indonesia soap opera (we call it here with "Sinetron") made a lot of rip off shows like this, I remember watching a rip off of Barbie and the Magic Pegasus, it has similar story plot with the Barbie. The only difference is the main character is a kid and the main guy is a bit older like teenager I guess, so their relationship is more like brother and sister, the villain also different which I think is a woman whereas in Barbie it's a man. I'm pretty sure there are many more rip off like these lost in the internet hahah. Anyways, great video, thank you for covering this👍
