People compare it to gta, which is more than fair. But honestly it's more comparable to the Driver series. Both series heavily emphasise on the driving mechanics that the on foot gameplay. And both have very okay on foot gameplay

Nah, people are still definitely blinded, there's certainly fun to be had but the game's fans all go out of their way to ignore how atrocious and rushed the later mission become, and people keep praising the writing and jokes despite the majority of lines being mediocre. There's definitely things to like but it's not remotely as good as it's reputation would suggest, Simpsons Game is the superior game of the series and even then that isn't exactly the highest of bars.

@@_-Lx-_ The Simpsons Game had some good writing and was a decent game, but it was a bit too short and the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were relentless with how the enemies would spawn in the game. The PS2 version is more manageable, because the technical limitations helped make it far less frustrating and the second last level felt like a proper level, instead of having to fight a constant onslaught of enemies before the boss. Don't recommend the PSP or DS versions however, as they suffered a little too much technical limitations.

The time limits are sadistically strict but the accomplishment... Though I swear the garbage mission as Apu is literally impossible. The game just let me mercy skip it after a point, I'm sure.

If this game ever gets a remake, it would be awesome if they added in the stuff they had to cut. Boss fights, extended levels, it would be great to experience that kind of stuff.

They're still currently working on level 2 though, but they did release an update recently after being silent for some time, to show people that progress is still being made.

The funniest thing about the Hit n Run meter in this game is that in literally every other piece of Simpsons media the Springfield Police are portrayed as being the most incompetent, useless police force known to man. The SPD channeled all their energy into being competent only when people are having fun

Honestly, this game reminds me a lot of Carmageddon, but slightly more for kids and with some added GTA-ness. The graphics, style, and "charm" of it just feels right and looks hilarious. XD Even when you run over people, they don't get "hurt", they just get launched all over the place like ragdolls, which definitely lowers the "violence" rating to an extent and would definitely be fun to play for pretty much any kid. 😂
