In this clip from the 1971 James Bond movie, eccentric millionaire Willard Whyte gets shot at... This is one of the funniest moments in the Bond series and perhaps one of the few decent parts of "Diamonds are Forever"!

Jimmy Dean was one of the few bright spots (along with Lana Wood) in an otherwise ho-hum Bond film. He was hilarious playing a Howard Hughes sort of semi recluse, sans the long fingernails. RIP Jimmy, you did yourself proud--in this film, in your singing, and in your sausage company. You will be missed. I hope they eat lots of sausage in heaven.

It was a very witty film, just not want Bond fans expect now, but it hugely outgrossed it's two predecessors back in the day. It was wonderful escapism. People are too serious these days.

I like Jimmy Dean's line, but with all due respect to Bruce Cabot (a great actor), Bert Saxby is possibly the worst Bond villain in the entire series. Of all the people Blofeld could've chosen as his right-hand man, he chose a casino manager who can't shoot?
@jonburrows86023 жыл бұрын
Because he needed Saxby to keep up the illusion that he was Willard Whyte and Saxaby was Whyte's right hand man. Wint and Kidd were Blofeld's main assassins in the movie.

@@jonburrows8602 well maybe, I just think it cheapens the series a lot. I couldn't imagine juvenile jokes in a Bourne film, and I don't like it in Bond. Bond has a dry, sardonic wit, not crass smarmy sleaze and bad puns.
