I was in prison back in 1981 to 1984 on a five year sentence for forgery by passing checks out of Smith County in Tyler, Texas. I done 3 years on a five year sentence on the Ferguson Unit near Midway, Texas. I was on C block. I haven't been back to prison since. I got my own apartment and I got a job working at Lowe's as sales clerk.

When I went to work for the Georgia department of corrections after I got off of active duty army as a infantry team leader it didn't take them long to move me to a place called West Georgia Boot camp in Bremen,ga and I was a D.I. and a senior D.I. and I broke many soul but I also put a lot of young men on a straight path but my job was to break the will of a man to make it.

I was in the US Army boot camp at Ft. Jackson SC in 1981. There were some big drill Sergeants around, but for damn sure, the meanest, toughest, unrelenting, hardcore and bloodthirstiest of all drill Sergeants around were the Vietnam era leftover vets; y'all remember, those little short crazy sob drill Sergeants that would start their day out with Coffee, cursing out every recruit, hitting the brim of their drill Sergeant hat onto a tall recruits chest or a shorter recruits eye or forehead. That was before they would take their first shot of Jim Beam or Jack. And our day was just getting started. And you dare not embarrass them in front of their fellow drill Sergeants. You better not! Their version of a blanket party made the average blanket party look like fun in the sun. Eventually, the military "had" to weed them out and I remember during Desert Storm 1, I was talking to a fresh recruit enroute to Iraq over in Germany and I remember he mentioning that the Army had started doing "time out" cards in boot camp. wtf!
