Remembering hearing this song for the first time on the radio at a birthday party in Suriname. . It was a hell of a job to find out who the singer was. Then finally get to localise mister Eugene Wilde. So underrated this man with his golden voice.

Good thought, but that rests on two things: Unsung has to reach out to him, and he has to consent to it

Wow! Same here. I was stationed in Ft Dix, New Jersey and it played at a club there. I slow danced to it. It was my first and last time ever hearing it. Over the years, it kept popping into my head. I would look for it by name and they would put up, Dirty Diana by Michael Jackson and some other songs with that name anywhere in it! 🤦♀️ Finally, I began to think I had the name wrong so I put in Joanna and they gave me Kool and the Gang!! 😂😭 This time after searching for this song off and on for over 40 years I replayed some of the lyrics in my head, and put it "What song says when you look at me that way, try to understand you belong to me"? Bingo!!! I hit the jackpot...finally. I am not even familiar with Eugene Wilde but I have always remembered this song and the special person it always made me think of, and the many lost opportunities with that person. Nostalgia at its best!

Just think. Eugene Wilde was only in his mid 20s when he made this album! Today's R& B artists are no where near the maturity level of the singers of the 80s.. I was about 15 when this came out so I can tell the difference between then and now

This dude had like three (3) great songs back-to-back-to-back . . . and then he was gone . . . similar to the warden from Shawshank when he said, "Like a fart in the wind!" 🌬💩 Oh, the late great years of '84 -'86 --- and this aforementioned 🤎breaker, "Gotta Get You Home With Me Tonight" and "Don't Say No Tonight" were basically on-sight 'Panty Droppers' back in the day . . . #RESPECT #ohthememories #andthegoodtimes #whew #letme🛑

You and I Have been through soo much lately Trying to work it out.... After you broke up...with him. But, how can I Help you to make up..with another guy When I know deep in my heart.. That I want you for myself.. And I've been trying to tell you...for some time now. But, I just didn't know how [Hook:] And I know that I may sound a little crazy. Knowing you were someone else's lady...Ooh [Chorus:] Diana Don't' look at me that way But, try to understand...what I've been going through.. Diana I'll give you anything...if it means That you belong to me... Oh Diana. [Verse II] Look at me... I had soo many restless nights...it's hard to sleep When you are on my mind I'll always keep... Hoping that one day...You'll be free To spend some time with me. So tell me if I'm wrong For trying to hold on.. Tell me right now... Don't' leave me..hanging on. (repeat hook) [Chorus:] Diana.. Don't' look at me that way But, try to understand. what I've been goin through Diana I'll promise you a diamond ring...if it means That you belong to me.. Diana...oh yeah... Don't' you see That you are hurting me... (fade-out)
