Nostalgic. I remember when I was a little kid I used to crawl myself in my bed facing the wall crying when I look at the way my dad was maltreating my mum. I didn't want my mum to see I was crying. Because I used to be the one to comfort her but deep down I was hurting 💔 too when she goes through the maltreatment 😭 I used to sing this song in my head while I drenched my pillow with tears😭. Still cries when I remember those days

I want to say to J Abroks who stated three years ago that I need to copyright Still Have Jesus if i want to prove ownership. Well for your information and that of all others [some of whom may think the song originates in Africa] that the song had been copyrighted from the very day it was released in 1973. Furthermore, the song is on a 45 rpm vinyl record in the library of the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) which is the State-owned radio and television station in Barbados. So all those who try to claim it as their own or may try to make money from it, the law will catch up with you when you least expect it. There is something called copyright laws and intellectual property. And by the way, I only gave permission to two artistes to reproduce my song - the late Joseph Niles and the gospel band Promise - both from Barbados. All what I am saying can be proven if anybody really wanted to. The world is too small and technology is too advanced for things of this nature not to be exposed. Another warning to those who have recorded my song without my written permission and changed anything about it, also without my written permission, that is also a crime. I will not give up until all those who perform/record my song illegally credit me as composer/writer and original singer. My copyright and intellectual property agency will deal with collecting any royalties derived from the performance of the song.

I am assuming Andrew Odoi and Diana Akiwumi are Christians...and we know Christians are about truth and honesty. Therefore, I want the world to know that the original writer/composer/singer of Still Have Jesus [official title] is no one from Ghana, or Africa for that matter or even anyone from the Continent. Truth is, it was written/arranged and first recorded way back in 1973 by me [Emmanuel Joseph], a Christian artiste from the tiny tropical Caribbean island of Barbados where Rihanna was born. Different people have performed the song by mixing their own lyrics with the original lyrics. For your information, the lyrics posted on this blog are NOT all the original lyrics either...there have been additions and subtractions.

In response to Elizabeth Agyapongl, who six years ago suggested that the song be revised and made international to impact her generation, this can be done, but whoever wants to do a revised version has to get my permission if they want to avoid the law catching up with them some day. In fact the Barbadian gospel group which I gave permission to "cover" my song performed it differently - in the local beat of Barbados called Spouge. But they got my permission to do so and even to change a few words.
