Greetings from Scotland! Such a dreamy, beautiful song! Diana, once again took an oldie and added her magic - the result is stunningly beautiful. The original singer, Anna German died in her 40's but left a huge repertoire behind. She was an incredibly popular Polish singer, in Poland and the Soviet Union in the 60s and 70s. She released over a dozen music albums in Polish, and several albums in Russian. Also a beautiful woman and beautiful singer.

Там ее практически не вспоминают и не слушают не песни Для нас она родная,любимая и незабываемая Для поляков она осталась чужой- это факт Ее лирический талант и нежный голос намного больше подходят русской лирике- мое мнение

The place where she performs here is a small, intimate venue that apparently serves as a sort of experimental stage for her where she can try out new songs among friends. In her introduction, she said that she was a bit worried about her performing this song, and I believe that was because she was going here out of her naturally deeper timbre "comfort zone" and for the first time experimentally ventured into a song with quite high notes throughout. She managed to do it alright, although at times a bit shaky😅. Subsequently, she embarked on that quest for higher and higher notes, which then culminated gloriously in her reaching those extremely high notes in the song, "The Day You.."

Also in 1972 her great popularity began in the Soviet Union. Famous masters of the musical genre, Oscar Feltsman, Arno Babadzhanyan and other composers wanted to write only for her. Her songs in Russian were distinguished by great warmth, sincerity, melody and melody. She sang in many languages, and if German was the language of her childhood, Russian is almost a second mother tongue for her. Later, Anna was offered contracts in Europe and America, but she preferred her tours in the Soviet Union. Diana of course can sing anything but there seems to be some genres that she likes to return to. One is the military or 'soldier songs' like Cranes and Polyushko-polye and many more. Another is these lyric songs that I guess were popular towards the end of the Soviet Union. To my ears Diana puts across a wistful, gentle mood almost like happy memories from a child hood. A lovely example of this occurs in her first podcast with Muzloft. A podcast with 2.7 million views so far. If you start at the 26:09 minutes mark then they start talking about these songs and Diana, completely off the cuff, goes on to sing a couple of them. Until 31.00 mins. Generating the same lovely mood. Since this podcast many of Diana's older (I presume) Russian fans have asked Muzloft to do a complete set of these songs with Diana. The video when played on my android yt app has time stamps and adequate auto translate captions but I'll add the link in separately as my comments with links often never appear.
