The motherland is Russia itself (although of course many listeners of different nationality will think of their own country as the motherland). The song is really about (the origin of) love of it. The answer that the song provides is illustrated by the video. There are actually four generations in it, not three: Diana's grandmother, her mother, her sister and her nephew (her sister's son).
