Спасибо за память об Анне Герман! Диана снова сделала свою песню, сохранив тепло и нежность оригинала, да и не умеет она по другому, наша Принцесса Диана.

Greetings from Scotland! This was recently at "The Bard Club, Nest of the Woodgrouse" quite local to where Diana lives. An absolutely stunningly beautiful old song which shows Diana's ability to hit higher, softer notes with great stability! Originally by a famous and very beautiful singer called Anna German. She was born in Uzbekistan then moved to Kemerovo Region of Siberia, then Tashkent, and later Kyrgyzstan and Khazakstan. She eventually went with her mother to live in Poland and quickly learned the language, becoming very famous as a singer. She has a talent for learning languages and performed in the Marché international de l'édition musicale in Cannes, as well as on the stages of Belgium, Germany, United States, Canada and Australia. She also sang in Russian, English, Italian, Spanish, Latin, German and Mongolian to name but a few of the languages she mastered! An impressive lady! Here is a slightly longer Diana version AND an example of Anna German singing it too - in one video! kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5_JfJl4mZKYiqs ------------ Привет из Шотландии!

❤👍🎵🌏🇷🇺 Second life for old song. This song was popular in 70th. The original singer is singer from Poland Anna German, she was very beloved by Soviet people. Thank for reaction. It is petty that you cannot feel the same that we do. Translation is never able to describe the beauty of the lyrics. Soft, tender, calm mood. ❤

This song "City of Lovers" was written in 1965 and performed by Anna Herman (kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH3WnZuMiJVqfdE ). For comparison, in 1965 in the UK, the song "I'll Never Find Another You" by the Austrian and The Seekers, which was played from all radio stations, entered all charts (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYvJZWSLqsl0mKs ). According to the technique of performance at that time, these songs were similar. They have a different melody, but the common basis is smooth singing without vocal balancing. I like Anna Herman's song better, because her performance today sounds attractive and does not seem like a retro song. But perhaps it is because of the genre style of the song - "Russian romance", which is modern in Russia, despite its advanced age.

This song is similar to a French song, because in France there is a chanson, and in Russia there is a romance. As a musical genre, chanson was formed by the end of the XIX century, emerging from folk art, rooted in the XII century. Russian romance, and the song "City of Lovers" was written as a romance, appeared in the XVIII century, as the singing of Russian songs in French (at that time all the Russian nobility communicated in French), but in its modern form the romance was formed at the beginning of the XX. Russian romance was originally formed as an independent genre, having the basis of French chanson and centuries-old Russian folk songs. As in France they love chanson, so in Russia they love romance. Both of these genres are distinguished by a soft, gentle, melodious sound, which is based not on a beat, but on a melody.
