It would be a finger snipping for her to make the big companies stand in line for her,but I think she knows,that this would come at the price of giving up a lot of her artistry. What she means by the lyrics (at least in my opinion) is she is talking about this abstract profound phenomenon that she calls Russia, which can be represented as a country on this planet and yet it is something else, something more out of this world. It is a place with joys and sorrows, a place that gives your life meaning. We can somewhat connect to that place through the country that we share and love - Russia - in all this beauty and its sadness but the concept it still something deeper, something that Russia is only a gateway to. I think it's very hard for modern western people to understand these emotions, you have become too pragmatic and disattached from your inner search for something than is more meaningful than this earthly life. I believe that many cultures like the Chinese or some Arabic cultures and in Europe for example the Serbs could understand the song.
