Basically, that's the story she tells here. Beautifully sung by Diana in that naturally deep, chocolate toned voice of hers. Set to music by Brandon Stone. Originally from a poem by the famous Russian Poet, Marina Tsvetaeva way back in July 17, 1916. Insomnia. 3. In my enormous city it is - night... Я сейчас не очень хорошо себя чувствую, вот почему вы видите много повторяющихся комментариев и не так много переведенных на другие языки. У меня проблема с нехваткой энергии и сил что-либо делать. Диана говорила и раньше что очень любит ночь и верно по этому выбор этого стиха Марины Цветаевой и случился, +Сотрудничество с Брендоном = сошлись три звезды в очередной шедевр. В русской поэзии и настроение и все человеческие эмоции и философия/метафор именно по этому просто переводить слова на английский, недостаточно. Русский язык чрезвычайно богат эмоциями, смыслами и значениями, в отличии от английского языка.

Interpretation of Diana and Brandon’s song “In a Huge City”: The great Russian poetess Marina Tsvetaeva gave birth (not “wrote”!) poems with a quality of meaning inseparable from the sound of her words in Russian. It is IMPOSSIBLE to understand the meaning of these poems, or rather, these sounds without perceiving their Russian sound (try translating Kipling, or Byron, or Shakespeare into Russian, and then back into English! Try it!). This is exactly what Diana and Brandon are doing in this song - the correspondence of meaning and sounds. This cannot be explained in words: how to add up the sum of meanings and the sound of speech??!! This can only be heard by the soul. To hear, repeated many times, a combination of melody, words and sounds of instruments, the main one of which is Diana’s voice - the most complex of them all. Hence the advice - reproduce in yourself the images given by Marina (night, wind, black poplar, light from the window, ringing from the tower, “And this is the shadow, but not me”, “Friends, understand that you are dreaming of me”) ... and listen, listen, listen to the voice(s) of Diana singing this... And you will enter the door of This universe - through the beauty paved by Diana and Brandon.

То же доказывается и переводом слов "тень вот эта - а меня нет" (а не "есть тень, но это не я"). Сначала перечисляются проявления и признаки чего-то реально существующего: свет - от лампы из окна, звон - колокола с башни, черный - тополь. А далее - шаги, цвет, тень, которые также вроде бы не могут существовать сами по себе. А вот тень есть, "а меня- нет"! Цвет есть - "а меня нет"! Сон обо мне есть - "а меня нет". Вообще основной смысл стиха можно передать устоявшимся в русском языке идиоматическим выражением "Потеряла себя". Таковым и было состояние Марины Цветаевой в пору сочинения стихов цикла "Бессонница". А выражено это состояние в стихе - гениально. И конгениально передано Дианой Анкудиновой (с помощью Брендона Стоуна).
