Здравствуйте . Вам уже написали что это обрядовая свадебная песня . Хочу дополнить , что как и все народные обряды, она уходит корнями в дохристианскую историю. А в языческой культуре было принято обманывать духов , чтобы они из зависти к человеческому счастью, не настроили козни. Поэтому на свадьбе исполняли такие жалостливые песни , оплакивая будущую тяжёлую жизнь.) В песне говорится только о том , что её , сироту, выдают замуж неизвестно за кого и она не знает какая судьба ждёт её беззащитную. А река это образ имеющий множество значений. Ну а подружки , это и есть её подруги по детским играм , с которыми она расстаётся возможно навсегда, так как её увезут в другую далёкую деревню и другую, взрослую жизнь. А насчёт звуков природы , советую Вам послушать Ольгу Подлужную. @@user-cg5we7jw7j Всё верно, ведь сватовство это по сути была сделка и торг на выгодных условиях и под венец против воли отдавали не только девушек но и парней, таковы были реалии тогдашней жизни. Кстати в современных свадьбах есть ритуал как выкуп невесты перешедший как наследие, сейчас он шуточный и весёлый но тогда это было в порядке вещей и во многих случаях не всегда оптимистичный для молодых людей. Да и за пожилых "женихов" по обоюдному согласию не редко отдавали, а по факту продавали совсем ещё юнных девушек недавно ещё игравших в куклы.

Rachenka, "The River", is a very old Russian folk song. The River is the boundary between life and death. She is performing as the Orphan Bride. She is standing on a pier on the River lamenting the fact that she has no mother or father to bless her marriage while surrounded by dark spirits. At the end the dark spirits lifted her into a boat and another dark spirit was pushing the boat into the River. We are left to wonder if she crossed over to the land of the dead or returned for her marriage.

Lovely interpretation of the song. Diana was 14 here and this performance has been called the most original performance in a competition show in Russia ever. I'll take a chance with what the song is about, Russian commenters will give a more complete history, no doubt. A young orphan girl is about to be married off against her wishes and she goes to the river to speak to the spirit of her mother. The sounds in the introduction part are to open the way to the spirit realm. Her mother answers why do you sit there forlorn (then the very effective whisper) "and not smiling". After this it is the bride describing what is happening and the yodel part is her cries of anguish that she has no one to bless her. It finishes with the cries to close the siprit realm and the bride in the boat. Here the story becomes contested. Is it the bride returning from the spirit realm or is she going further in, basically dying in the river? I'm sure you'll get both of these as well as other interpretations. I did like yours, though, a fresh take on the story.

She"s not speaking to her mother, she's just complaining to a river about her sad fate (marriage to a strange not loved person). Not smiling is said about the river, because the river flow is calm and indifferent. Your interpretation is very close, though! So, that orphan girl is about to marry and she has a house full of guests, and she's supposed to be happy (that's why that hysterical joy in voice, I guess). But she has no parents to bless her (which was important in old times), she can only tell her sorrows to the river. She doesn't know what is her future. And also there was a tradition for girls to cry before they marry, like saying goodbye to their free girlish life. Diana is a great actress in this song, she expressed all her emotions so that even people not knowing russian can understand it, it's a great talent indeed

Между женихом и невестой не должно было быть родства семь поколений. Возможно, что невеста больше никогда не видела своих родных. Момент между прощанием в своем Роду и принятием в Род жениха считался очень опасным. Защита одного Рода снята, а защита другого Рода еще не действует. Невесте не полагалось веселиться. Она должна была плакать на свадьбе. Эта песня и есть плач невесты.

Well done you you put a lot of thought and feeling into interpreting this performance by Diana. Diana plays the orphan girl on the day of her arranged marriage...she runs away, to the river... The division between the living and the supernatural. She ask her mother, her father what she should do she is not happy ... The spirits lift her up and carry her to river and she gets in the boat... It is left to the watcher to decided if she joins her familly or is carried away down the river. It is a masterpiece of dramatic story telling an ancient folk tale retold by a 14 year old uniquely talented girl. Herself adopted after a troubled begining. ¡Hola Marita! así que has llegado a una de las obras maestras más grandiosas de Diana..Déjame decirte, como siempre, qué canción es..Esta es una antigua canción de rito ruso: el llanto de una novia huérfana...Chica- el huérfano se casa, los invitados y el novio llegaron, pero está triste..las amigas le preguntan por qué está triste ,y la niña les responde que no tiene padre ni madre y que no hay nadie para bendecirla en el matrimonio..ella va al río,que según las antiguas creencias rusas es la frontera entre el mundo de los vivos y los muertos y llama al espíritu de su madre desaparecida,pide bendiciones..pero el río y los espíritus del bosque están en silencio ...y la chica se sube al bote y el río se la lleva ..Diana canta aquí en las tradiciones del antiguo canto de rito ruso, utilizando dialectos de las regiones del Norte de nuestro país.Sin exagerar, esta actuación es una bomba, ella hipnotizó a todos los miembros del jurado y a toda la sala,notaste cómo se apresuraron a presionar los botones cuando recordaron que la canción estaba terminando..Y tienes razón, hay mucho dolor y ansiedad en esta canción..Diana, que tuvo una infancia muy dura, sintió esto sobre sí misma, lo que era ser huérfano y nos lo contó..

В сокращенном виде: девушка - сирота разговаривает с рекой (уменьшительно -ласкательная форма "реченька". Русский язык очень богат и сложен и одно слово может иметь много смыслов и окрасок. Река- реченька - речища ..... .) Фигуры на заднем плане - вроде духов воды, реки.Семья где она живет обеспеченная по тем временам ( гуси, кони ..), но самое важное: когда собирались играть свадьбу ( крайне давно...) важнейшим для жениха и невесты было благославление ( благо и славить ) родителей.То есть без этого все было не так как положено. Вот и суть. А как Диана спела-- тут слова пропадают.
