Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

She is in the Contralto range, this is what the female vocal classification that is equivelent to male Bass is called. As for notes, if you want the male equivelent she was at the mid Baritone range or if you want another equivalent she was at the lowest tenor range in her lows and she went up to the female Soorano range in her highs. Her lowest note was a C3 and her highest a Bb5 so she scaled almost 3 Octaves on this song alone and you will be surprised to learn that this is not the lowest or the highest she can go, a natural dramatic contralto with a huge range that puts Sopranos to shame. But these are semantics, this girl possesses the absolute rarest most beautiful voice on Earth and boy she can use it like no other too, she yodels, she vocal fries, she growls she can do every trick in the book and then she can also do some things that you have never heard before in your life. The more you listen the more you will understand. You have spelled her name wrong in your title, your video can not be searched with her name so make sure to correct it.

I'm glad I listened to that. I can't comment musically, as I'm ignorant of all musical theory, and I'm purely a listener of music for many decades. It was quite extraordinary, and I have never heard a female singer, or male singer come to that, like that. Obviously, she has some incredible singing chops, to go that low, and I have no idea how much it was just straight singing ability, and how much it relied on mixing and other sound effects. This doesn't bother me too much, because it's the end result that counts, and music isn't some purist sport. All I can say, it was quite unlike anything I've heard before, and it's great that people are seeking new styles and approaches to music. I'd have to listen to more of her to get a handle on her approach to music.

Glad you enjoyed this song. She's 16 years old. I can assure you that what you're hearing is her natural voice, no mixing maniplication. She a Dark Contralto ( Think of Cher, only lower ) however, she's a Mezzo Soprano at the same time with Polyphony, meaning she can produce 2 - notes at the same time. DEE ANNA is a Russian singer and is just 18 here. This was her opening performance on the Russian TV show ShowMaskGoOn where the nine participants judge each other's performances. All except Diana, who was by far the youngest, were seasoned professional singers, and the man who stood up at the end is a world famous opera singer married to an even more world famous opera singer. Diana ultimately won the competition. Michael, this performance took place when Diana Ankudinova was just 18 years old. It was during this inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn!” that premiered on September 25, 2021, and she is now 21 years old. For this new “ShowMaskGoOn” competition Diana performance was her cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can't Help Falling In Love”. Early in her carrier, Diana has said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that lack kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies, so along with her voice teacher she decided to concentrate extensively on improving and developing her upper vocal range because a female singers vocal range helps to determine and define her voice type. In 2017 when she was 13 years old, Diana’s vocal range was first measured and her vocal range then was measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which was unusually low for a 13 year old girl. During this “Can’t Help Falling In Love” performance, her vocal range was again measured and Diana’s functional vocal range now goes from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range), so she had defiantly improved her upper vocal range. One of the most commonly asked questions regarding Diana’s unique voice is, how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve such a low, rich, deep, profound, and resonant sound? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing those low notes to physically see what is happening within her vocal tract, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana's ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx, (voice box), likewise appears to be larger and similarly her laryngopharynx, (throat), also appears to be larger and longer than the vast majority of female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity (mouth). It appears it’s this combination of unique vocal anatomical structure that gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sounds she is known for, but without actually scoping her vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure. For this new the “ShowMaskGoOn!” competition, Diana’s first performance was her cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can't Help Falling In Love”. She showed what many vocal professionals have been saying since Diana first appeared on the “You Are Super”, when she was 14 years old and the “You Are Super-Super Season” vocal competitions when she was 15 years old. Based on Diana’s previous vocal competition’s, and concerts, she has now developed into what many vocal professionals believed she always was, a true Contralto voice type. For those that do not know what a Contralto voice type is, a Contralto is the lowest, and deepest type of female voice, and a true Contralto is very, very rare. Just to be clear, there are 3 recognized Contralto voice types: Coloratura: The coloratura contralto has a light, agile voice ranging very high for the classification and atypically maintains extensive coloratura and high sustaining notes, specializing in florid passages and leaps. Lyric: The lyric contralto voice is lighter than a dramatic contralto but not capable of the ornamentation and leaps of a coloratura contralto. This class of contralto is lighter in timbre than the others. Dramatic: The dramatic contralto is the deepest, darkest, and heaviest contralto voice, and usually having a heavier tone and more power than the others. Singers in this classification are very rare. During the opening of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” Diana’s low Lyric Contralto voice is on full display. The improvement to her upper range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance. Finally, the full depth and power of Diana’s voice during the final section define her as not just a Contralto, but as a “Dramatic Contralto” voice type. Her Dramatic Contralto has the low, deep, dark, rich sound and it is the most powerful of the contralto voice types and is the rarest of the very rare Contralto voice types. At the end of this performance, the full power of her Dramatic Contralto voice is on full display for everyone to hear. But it’s not just how low she can go, it’s in the exceptional quality of her tone in her upper range but especially in her lower range that makes her so very special. It's in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her sound, along with her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance. Diana Ankudinova has also mastered a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing. Mastering the polyphonic singing technique gives Diana the ability to create one, and sometimes two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and can sound an octave above, or an octave and ½ above. It’s this polyphonic singing ability that can make it sound like more than one person singing which is why sometimes people mistakenly believe Diana Ankudinova is using some form of artificial voice manipulation like Auto Tune, or she is using pitch correction software to alter or adjust her sound. Others believe another person is singing off stage in the background. Diana has been accused of lip-syncing over a previously recorded vocal track that was altered or modified. There is NO artificial manipulation of Diana's voice, and no one is singing off stage, nor is she lip-syncing to a previously recorded vocal track. What you are hearing in the background is a backing track for the musical score, along with a choir and Diana doubling herself also on a backing track, and It was used to fill in and round out the performance. Diana Ankudinova, and only Diana Ankudinova is actually singing Can't Help Falling In Love. During the “ShowMaskGoOn” Diana was competing against 8 other professional singers, Diana being the 9th competitor. Diana and the other singer's also doubled as judges for this competition which was televised over nine weeks, and each singer performed one song per week for the entirety of the 9 weeks. Diana and the other professional singers/judges were competing against each other, and based on their individual performances they awarded judging points to each other. Each week a different singer took center stage and performed a different song over each of the nine weeks using a different genre of music, and a different style for each song performed. The ShowMaskGoOn! concluded on November 20, 2021, and during Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who was the first to stand is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this inaugural competition. At the end of Diana's performance she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer, Julia Parshuta. Julia was in the center row, and dressed in in red, and looks totally lost at the end of Diana's performance. She puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally shocked, lost and bewildered. Finally, The Show Must Go On competition concluded with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points over the total of 9 weeks, and was declared the competition winner!

They say she's polyphonic what ever that means. She always sounds pretty much the same, so I dont think they auto tune it toooo much. Definitely a lot of reverb or delay or something. Wicked games is great, rechenka is other worldy too. She has quite a story as far as being left on a door step as a baby and not being able to speak so they got her a vocal coach.

22 of June a sound engineer switched off reverb during live broadcasting, there was a few changes. She has her own built-in reverb. Then he switched off all filters, including essential, so it was not her best performance. We can hear raw sound from the mic, and it's still decent. She has all she needs inside her.

The Inuit in Arctic Canada do something similar called throat singing. It’s also polyphonic….we discussed this in music school for a couple weeks. Michael Patton from Faith No More is also able to do this and there was a lady in the 70s I think who could actually hold a drone note while sing a major scale over it. It’s so strange….in the best way!! ✌️

Greetings from Scotland! Diana was just 18yo here. You have finally found that voice you've been waiting to hear all your life! The most staggering thing is, this is just the tip of the Diana Iceberg! Let me introduce you to her:- Diana is 21yo currently and I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural *Dramatic Contralto* so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with *polyphonic overtones* so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! You need a little back story to understand what helped "create" this unique phenomenon:- Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage! This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. At *13yo* she held her 1st solo concert and one of the songs she sang was in a very rare *Sephardic Jewish/Spanish* dialect, a song called *"Me Voy"* (I'm leaving) with a power and emotional commitment that staggers belief! kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2rClGichdekpNE She was already winning every contest in Russia and other countries that she could get to. Однозначно, Диана Анкудинова - необыкновенная поп-певица. Она создает свой жанр - это сверхэмоциональное пение и духовный контакт с каждым зрителем через голос. Этот жанр требует от вокалиста крайнего нервного напряжения. В этом Диане нет равных среди певиц.

She is a Siren, the Queen of Goosebumps, the Queen of Resonance. Literally everyone says she has the most unique voice they have heard. I have been absorbed in her performances since she was 15 and she is only 21 now. She can dominate any genre - and does. I have long wondered if there could be a decent enough rock song so that she could shine in that genre also. Great reaction! Diana has a natural subwoofer in here. Only way I can describe that level of power and resonance in those deep and low tones. Its pretty stunning. Wicked Game is amazing too. I’m so glad this came up in my KZbin algorithm. I have never heard Diana Ankudinova before. I guess it’s not surprising that this arrangement has a Russian flavour to it. I bet wind machines dry singers’ mouths out, but Universe it looks good. It was crazy, and beautiful. A singer told me earlier to make the letter R, and sing it, and use the r sound to access your lower register, just keep dropping lower and lower into the r. And I heard it in Dina’s voice! In the middle there when she went from high back to way back down, I could hear her tongue curled upwards into an ‘r’ shape in her mouth. Yo, what a sound she has.
