Such an inspiration. There is absolutely no scrap of proof that this was unauthentic, and from my studies of Nyad she is such a driven and motivated person that I have absolutely no doubt in my young soldier's mind and heart that she was able to do this.

What she said about the mental / psychological attitude is so true. I always found it amazing that after Roger Banister broke the 4 minute mile which many around that time thought the human body wasn't capable to doing such, within 18 months, some 30 people broke the 4 minute mile after Bannister. The whole thing was a psychological barrier and nothing to do with physical limitations.

And find a way to express just what it means to not only when the race but accept the journey and embrace it and get through whatever is in front of you that day as simple as taking your dog for a walk when you don’t want to but are so darn glad you did!👏👏

Usually I always have some smart ass negative comment ,but really what the hell can I even say. That is absolutely impressive and incredible. And it's not necessarily the 111 miles that strikes me as incredible and brave which of course is ,but it's the fact that she did it in waters notorious for the very high concentration of sharks within those waters. Absolutely "Jaws" dropping! Haha get it Jaws! I have no life.

she did the swim i rewatched the same special just now about her preparation with mixed up segments of practice making it look like she got on boat to rest. that one confusing segment was her ending a 24 hour practice swim. she did not do her swim by secretly getting on the boat to rest and eat. also that would be a preposterous lie to try to pull off--she did the swim

I found this interview to be quite condescending to Ms. Nyad. After what she accomplished, you should give her 5 minutes to speak freely on whatever subject she chooses. She has earned the world's respect and attention.

Diana NYAD "While she swims she remembers Stephen Hawking books, sings, counts numbers, and has vivid hallucinations of The Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road." She had $500,000 in expenses & a 30 person team. Nyad is a lesbian, and an atheist, but her mind was not on her female friend nor on God. I am not quite sure what makes her brand of determination so heroic. Non-believers relish this fanaticism. The tyrant of North Korea also has fabulous determination to be a controller. And the believers always get chastised and criticized and condemned for having determination to serve God. Is there not a risk of these swimmers taking an aquatic species body in their next birth? Her childhood sexual abuse is a tragedy, yet these horrible things do not necessarily destroy the soul in every instance, nor prohibit ultimately the soul from reuniting with God. Who then, is the killer of soul? Sri Isopanisad 3, Translation and Purport: The killer of the soul, whoever he may be, must enter into the planets known as the worlds of the faithless, full of darkness and ignorance. Human life is distinguished from animal life due to its heavy responsibilities. Those who are cognizant of these responsibilities and who work in that spirit are called suras (godly persons), and those who are neglectful of these responsibilities or who have no information of them are called asuras (demons). Throughout the universe there are only these two types of human being. In the Ṛg Veda it is stated that the suras always aim at the lotus feet of the Supreme Lord Viṣṇu and act accordingly. Their ways are as illuminated as the path of the sun. 💛⚡🌞 Prabhupāda: It is a soul-killing civilization. We have to fight against it, to save at least a few men. Room Conversation With David Lawrence -- July 12, 1973, London Saubhari Ṛṣi was engaged in austerity while submerged deep within the River Yamunā. SB 4.30.39-40, Translation and Purport The Āryans never maintain slaughterhouses, and they are never enemies of poor animals. The Pracetās underwent severe austerities for many, many years, even within the water. Accepting austerities and penances is the avowed business of those interested in advanced civilization. The word nirandhasām means "without food." Eating voraciously and unnecessarily is not the business of an Āryan. Rather, the eating process should be restricted as far as possible. When Āryans eat, they eat only prescribed eatables. Diana has a human body, the most opportune position on the planet to have the chance to overcome the horrible suffering, like the stings of the box jellyfish, which cause pain to everyone, atheists included. We can think and reason with a powerful brain, and act with a kind heart towards our fellow creatures and all humankind. I'd rather be a lazy lover of the Supreme Lord than an active atheist. Now if I could have a chat with Diana, she would hear what to do to get free from the problems of life, no matter how far out one's accomplishment has been. What if God is not impressed, because He has taken the time to give her life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but she discredits the Supreme Godhead. What if God could honestly whisper in her ear, that He is the creator and maintainer of the universe, and challenge Diana to create and maintain such a vast variety of life, so many natural wonders, or even a tiny bumblebee that can fly and collect pollen and make honey. Can any one of us create such amazing things? So why be overly proud?

WORSHIP TO YOU Diana. The prescribed number of times to recite a mantra in Hinduism to say something over and over again, something you want, like a thousand dollars, is you while the sun is up each day chant the thing you want (one word if you want) 1,008 times (WITHOUT stopping) for 45 days, and it should take effect in 30 to 90 days. She said she used the mantra 'find a way', one thing people can do is chant at least 108 times a day WHILE the sun is up, "Find a way".

Someone must have given her some advice. Because she did a rather good job in this interview. Other interviews I've seen of her this woman came off sounding EXTREMELY self centered... praising herself and junk like that. While I feel she has earned that right, IMO it just made her look bad. Yeah, you're great... we get it... that's kind of what I was thinking throughout her other interviews. This one, however, she sounds more inspirational... someone you want your kids to look up to.
